Enchanting deception

- Tase! Tase! TASE WAKE UP! - Tase opened his eyes quickly when the voice of his older brother reached his mind. He wanted to mind-link him back, but his wolf didn't awaken yet. Despite being an Alpha's fourth son, and his older brothers being exceptional shifters, his wolf didn't show himself for now.He always felt devastated, a failure due to this fact. Soon the owner of the voice appeared in his room with his blonde hair messy and his green eyes radiating anger and fear. Tase jumped out of his bed and Gerrit threw a backpack at him. - You must leave to Uncle's NOW! - Gerrit said and Tase scoffed. - Why?! Timon went there a week ago to help them out! - Gerrit grabbed Tase by his shoulders and shook him. Gerrit's green eyes showed worry. He looked like the male version of their beloved mother. Tall, fit, blonde hair, green eyes and playful smile. He was always cheerful and a little clumsy but this time, Gerrit acted serious and strong. - Get the f**k out of here! We are under attack! Take the car and run! - Tase shook his head. - I'm the Alpha's son too! I won't hide like a coward! - Gerrit hit Tase's forehead with his palm hoping that he might beat some sense into Tase. He knew perfectly well, how much of a burden Tase felt at that moment, but this wasn't the time of heroic sacrifices. - Your wolf is still dormant! They'll kill you and we need to focus! We cannot fight properly while we worry about your safety! - that moment Gerrit fall to his knees and howled in pain. For Tase the bond with the pack wasn't there yet. He kneeled next to his brother and asked. - Gerrit ! What happened? - Gerrit's eyes darkened he grabbed his t-shirt on his chest and looked into Tase's amber eyes. - Erik is dead Tase. He just died. Go! RUN FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODDESS! - Tase gave a brief hug and grabbed the backpack. - Don't die! - he said and ran as fast as he could. He tried not to look at the m******e all around their territory. The Hidalgo Pack was small but strong and loyal to the Royal family. Even if he tried to focus on his goal, to get to the car alive, he caught a glimpse of their oldest brother Leo fighting for his life against three other wolves. Leo bled heavily and whimpered in pain when a large wolf dug his claws into his flesh painting Leo wolf's white fur, crimson red. Tase couldn't just stand there to watch his brother getting injured. He quickly looked around and grabbed a big rock. Tase threw it against the wolf that attacked Leo and it turned his attention to him. Its eyes shined madly at the young boy and he growled snarling his teeth. Tase pulled his tongue at it and shouted. -Come and get me you fleabag! What's wrong? Aren't you man enough?! - the wolf marched towards Tase and he ran into the woods. This wasn't the brightest idea of my life. I'll die if this motherfucker catches me. He had an advantage knowing every tree and every bush in the forest. Soon Tase arrived to a lake. The lake where they always came to swim with his brothers in the summer and ice skating from time to time when it was cold enough for the lake to freeze. This winter, was one of them. Tase stomped where he knew the ice was thinner and jumped into the freezing cold water. He swam further and hid under the thick ice holding his breath. Tase watched as the enemy walked above him. He looked into the backpack Gerrit gave to him, and took a big dagger out of it. Tase hit the ice from under. The ice cracked and before his pursuer could've realize what happened, he fall into the water their eyes met as the wolf panicked and drowned. Tase climbed out of the lake, trying to catch his breath and leaned down on the snowy ground. Suddenly he heard another heartbreaking howl and this time he knew, someone from his family lost its life. A piercing pain rushed throughout his entire body. Tase felt his bones cracking and his blood boiling. - Seriously?! - he asked while his wolf fought itself to the surface. Tase shouted in pain as the shifting ended and his connection with his dying pack members immediately strengthened. He felt the pain of loosing his brothers and childhood friends along with his parents. He was left totally alone. All he could do was whimpering and struggling with the pain. Soon a few of their enemy found the struggling Tase, and his wolf called him for the first time. *- Tase! Get your s**t together! I'm Titan, your wolf. You need to run Tase! We have to get somewhere safe! - he said and Tase scoffed in their minds. - What for? My whole family is dead, my pack has been massacred. Better to die today with them. *- You have to live! We are destined for great things! Also our mate awaits! - Tase laughed as the enemy approached dangerously. -Who cares about a mate now? *- Don't be such an i***t! You are the last surviving member of your family! You must carry on your parents and brothers legacy or their deaths will be meaningless! - that snapped Tase out of his self pity and jumped up. Titan took over control to get them out of there but their experienced attackers quickly reached them. They snarled their sharp canines and couldn't wait to finish their assignment, which was to get rid of the whole Hidalgo Pack. Soon those three set of teeth suddenly grabbed Titan's back legs, tearing his muscles and flesh. Titan fought for their lives getting bitten and scratched all over their body. The pursuing continued until they arrived to the deepest part of the forest, where their attackers halted. Titan tried to catch his breath and Tase felt like he was about to pass out of exhaustion. -Why did they stop? I mean I'm not complaining, but what is happening? - Tase asked and Titan sniffed the air. *- They got scared of this scent. - What scent? - Tase asked and Titan shrugged. *- I don't know. It doesn't seem dangerous to me. - Great. That's amazing... - Tase said and their vision blurred. *- We have lost too much blood dude. - Titan said and Tase laughed. - Well... s**t. - the last thing he saw before they passed out was a pile of snow moving towards them and two little lavender fireflies playing around.
