Chapter 4

Ava

I subconsciously covered my chest and turned around.

"Ava! Did you do it on purpose? I asked you to wash my clothes, but you dyed.." My Step sister, Violetta walked in angrily, She stared at my chest, I looked to see what must have caught her attention. I noticed the red marks that must have gotten there from last night. 

Violetta viciously stared at me with her eyes full of sarcasm and said in a frivolous tone, "Ava, I mistook you to be a very conservative girl but you turn out to be very open. If I remember correctly, you're single, right? Did you have a one-night stand last night? Or did you become a w***e? You don't look bad. How much did you charge your customers?"

Her satiric words pierce through my thick skin but I kept my head up. She was calling me a p********e to my face.

I hurriedly put on my loose pajamas, held my anger back, and said, "Violetta, please respect my privacy and leave my bedroom."

Violetta sneered, folded her arms over her chest, and said with an arrogant look, "You asked me to get out? Who do you think you are? This is my home! If my mother hadn't taken you in out of kindness, you would have long become a mistress like your shameless mother. You have no say in this family! Gee, you are as slutty as your mother! Shame on you!"

The rage in me grew fast like an erupting volcano. My mother had always been her sore point and Violetta was aware of it that was why she is using it against me.

My mother had been deceived by my married father when she was in her prime and got pregnant out of wedlock.

Many people gossiped about her and said all kinds of nasty things to her face but she endured it all, gave birth to me, and raised me well.

Over the years, my mother had a lot of admirers in the pack, even Alphas from other packs came to ask for her hand in marriage, but she rejected all of them and never messed around with men.

My mother is my heroine, I would not allow anyone to slander her! Especially my rude and spoiled step sister.

I balled my hand into a fist before releasing it then I rushed toward Violetta, slapped her in the face, and screamed,  "Shut up! My mother is not that kind of person! I don't allow you to slander her like that! "

Violetta widened her eyes and glared at me after the sudden slap. Soon, she pounced upon me with a ferocious look and shouted, "How dare you slap me? I will beat you up today!"

"Enough! Stop!" Our Father, Elder Smith yelled. He was one of the most prestigious and respected elders in the pack.

The quarrel between us drew father and Violetta’s mother Ashlyn over.

Ashlyn quickly pulled her daughter to her side. “Oh my goodness, did  she slap you?” She asked in her exaggerated manner. Violetta nodded in agreement.

“I have told you to always be kind to your sister, Violetta. Why did you provoke her?” Ashyln asked with a huge pretense in her voice.

“Mum, I didn't provoke her. I only called her  to come and have breakfast.” Violetta lied.

Father immediately bought their story and acting then he glared at me without asking for my side of the story, saying "Ava, why did you slap your sister? What's the matter with you?”

Relying on father’s support, Violetta rolled her eyes at me and complained, "Dad, I found Ava went out to fool around the pack with men last night, so I scolded her out of kindness, but she flew into a rage and slapped me. Look at my injury. You must teach her a good lesson. She is trying so hard to soil the good name our family had in front of everyone it pack.!"

"Dad, I didn't do it! She is lying against me." I cried knowing that he wouldn’t listen to me. He will only choose to hear from his beloved daughter. I was just a bastard that my mother and I almost ruined his reputation amongst other werewolves in the pack.

Violetta was distorting the truth! I only slapped her because she humiliated my mother.

I was going to keep defending myself, but before I could finish my words, Violetta interrupted, "You didn't do it? Why do you have those marks on your body? Did you make them by yourself? Ava, since you dared to go out to fool around with men, you should have the guts to admit it!"

"I..Er..I" I stammered as the words of my mouth failed me. 

I didn’t know how to refute Violetta, I just bowed my head in silence, it was true that I had lost my virginity but never would I ever think of explaining what happened to them.

They would only mock me and call me a liar that dreams of having a good life.

Seeing my acquiesce, Ashlyn, my step mom sneered and taunted at me , "You stayed out all night to fool around with men at such a young age! What will you become in the future? Your mother seduced my husband and had a child out of wedlock. You grew up with such a woman. No wonder you did such a thing. But the Smiths are all decent people! If this is spread out, your father will be disgraced! The whole pack will treat us with disdain, this might even affect your sister’s marriage."

My Stepmom was adding fuel to the flame on purpose, my father got more furious and roared, "You wicked girl! How dare you do such a thing! It's a shame! Ava, you really disappointed me!"

The whole house shook from my father’s roaring. The weak omegas in the house must have lost their stance. My  father was a very strong wolf unlike most wolves in the pack but he was smaller than the Alpha.

Seeing Ashlyn and Violetta gloating made me feel very sad as if my heart had been heavily squeezed.

But my biological father scolded me out loud instead of defending me  and her mother just like I expected.

Was it all my mother's fault?

With tears in my eyes, I said in a choked voice, "Dad, if you didn't hide your marriage from my mother back then, she would not have gotten pregnant! You think we are shameful now, but why couldn't you control yourself in the first place? It's all your fault!"

My mother was just the victim and we were both suffering from it.

He had deceived and abandoned her, and then, he had returned to his family as if nothing happened between them

But my  mother was trapped in the shadows all her life. She had never gotten married, raised me alone, and was utterly isolated by her family and friends.

When I was fifteen years old, my mother had fallen ill from exhaustion and could no longer work. She was afraid that she could not pay my tuition fees or take care of me anymore, so she had sent me to the Smiths, my fathers family.

I knew it was a big decision for her, that was why I couldn’t return to her and I wasn’t going to add to her burdens.

Otherwise, I  would not have had anything to do with the Smiths at all

“Snap!” He slapped me hard in the face.

He was fuming with anger, and he pointed at the door with a trembling finger and said, "Ava, get out of here!"

Feeling the burning pain in my  cheek, I tilted my head.

When tears welled up my eyes, I covered my red and swollen cheek and rushed out the door without looking back.

After Ava left, Ashlyn held her husband’s arm and kept smoothing him, saying, "Honey, calm down. Anger will do harm to your health. It's not worth it. Ava has been raised by her mother, so you should have long known she will become like this. She is just an outsider. You still have Violetta, so you don't need to care about her."

After he heard her words of comfort, his anger subsided a little bit.

Ashlyn suddenly thought of something, a glimmer of light flashed across her eyes, and she said, "Isn't Mr. Yale of the Yale Group interested in Ava? Since she has lost her virginity, why don't we let her have dinner with him and help us get that project?"

Hearing this, Elder Smith narrowed his eyes and began to scheme.

Luke 

At the same time, in the Alpha Luke Graham's Residence…

I  sat on the sofa and asked coldly, "Have you caught that woman?"

One warrior replied with caution, "Alpha Graham, we blocked several major streets around the residence plus  we combed the whole pack, but we didn’t find any trace of her."

Hearing this, I  shot a cold glance at him and angrily threw the cup in my hand out, shouting, "You call yourselves warriors. It's been three hours, but you can't even find a woman! I fear that my life's at stake under your watch. Continue to search for her!"

“But the Beta said..”

“Are you going to listen to the Beta’s words or mine?” I scolded then the warrior composed himself. “Ask the Beta himself to come and see me if  he has any issues with my orders. Now leave.”

“Yes sir.” The Warriors answered  before leaving.

I can’t  believe my men were unable to find her in Blue Moon pack! No matter where she was hiding, they  could capture her! Unless she was a foreigner.
