Chaos!

"I just want him to live and be happy in the end!"

Cora’s pov

“No! Please don’t leave!” I cry out speeding up even more.

I am shaking, I have no idea how I am driving and how I am taking the right road to the palace. I feel like I am getting crazy, my head is killing me, my heart aches and the scent of blood makes me want to vomit.

I am so terrified, so dizzy!

What happened, how?

“Noah please!” I scream breathless and turn quickly to take a look of him.

I put him at the back seat, I don’t know how I carried him and put him in the car, he is unconscious, he is not moving and he is bearably breathing, his heartbeat was so slow and weak that I didn’t know if he was alive at first. He was bleeding, his chest had deep cuts from the glasses, his stomach had scratches and his shirt was soak and red from the blood but now…

It is ever worse and I don’t know how I am going to make it till the palace but most importantly I don’t know if he is going to make it.

I press the gas pedal more and grab my phone with my hands covered with his blood, I am a mess, my clothes are wet and my arms, hands and chest are worse than the other parts of my body.

I deal my brother’s number and somehow manage to start the call while driving and take quick short looks of Noah through the mirror. I tied up his chest with a jacket I had in my car in order to decrease his bleeding but I am not sure if it works.

I wait for some seconds that feels like centuries and the moment he picks it up I sigh crying.

“Cora? What? Where are you, why are you crying?” he screams panicked immediately and I cry louder.

“Noah… He… The file…” I say trembling.

“CORA?” Ivan screams probably taking the phone from Owen.

“Ivan, his car exploded! I don’t know what happened, he had gone to take the file.” I manage to say.

“Where are you? I am coming, where…”

“I am close, I want the doctors ready, I don’t know if he is still alive, please!” I rave and gasp breathless.

“Alright, listen to me Cora! Everything will be ready, calm down and try to hurry, don’t think about anything else now. I will be waiting at the hospital’s entrance with everyone, okay?” he says quickly making amends to seem calm and I groan in agreement.

I end the call before I get sure that he has nothing else to tell me and wipe the tears from my eyes taking one deep breath. I get concentrated on the load and Cynthia appears in my mind calmer that she was until now with a confident, self-collected dark expression.

“We can make it! We will save him, believe it!” she states through her teeth and I nod.

Yes, he can make it and so can I! He is strong, I know him and I also know that I won’t let him die, no, I won’t allow this to happen!

I have no idea what happened, it doesn’t matter me this moment but the only thing for sure is that no matter what happened between us I won’t let him die!

He was my mate, my other half once! He was the man I used to love even if he was killing me and most importantly he is the father of my son! I owe it to Miles, he wouldn’t want his father dead although what happened between us and do you know what?

I know that Noah loved Miles but I couldn’t admit it last day, I didn’t want to because I put myself above him for the first time. I know that he never wanted to lose Miles, he really loved him but he didn’t know how to express it, he was too distant but he was showing his love in his own ways…

And maybe Noah loved me but he was too selfish to admit it, not that this changes what happened or that I am notgoing to forgive him and turn back to him but…

He is an enigmatic man and no one can understand how Noah thinks!

“Once he gets out of danger I am going to find them and then I will kill them all! I promise you!” I say to Cynthia that nods with a harsh, angry look.

“And Caleb is nowhere to be found…” she states with meaning and I sigh in frustration.

She has a point for suspecting him but I know Caleb, he is a great man, he loves Noah and me, he has a kind heart and he has no reason to do such a thing.

“I guess that he is going to answer all of our questions once he appears and maybe Noah’s phone has some answers that could help us as well!” I reply and look at his phone that is next to mine on the passenger’s seat.

The rest of the drive doesn’t last more than five minutes as I am driving like crazy and the moment I reach in front of the hospital’s entrance I find almost everyone waiting for me.

Ivan, my father, my aunt, Owen, Chloe, Rosa, Jose, Mischa and Leo with some doctors and nurses.

Thanks God!

I stop the car quite abruptly and jump out with everyone rushing to us and when my father, aunt and Ivan see me covered with blood they get panicked and try to hug me but I pull back and open the back door.

“What happened to him?” Leo screams terrified and the doctors bring a stretcher to take Noah.

“The car exploded before he notice me, I think he had realized that something was wrong because I found him out of the car but he was unconscious. I don’t know what exactly happened!” I shout as Ivan pulls me in his arms and I break into bends.

“Hurry, hurry!” one of the doctors roars and I scream ready to collapse but Ivan tightens his hold around me and my father comes to help him support me.

“Cora, calm down, please!” My aunt begs me joining my dad’s side while the doctors take Noah inside with Leo and Jose behind them.

“Are you okay baby? Are you hurt?” Chloe asks me worried and I shake my head negatively.

“I am fine, just a bit dizzy. I almost died from fear!” I murmur and I stiffen in Ivan’s arms.

“Why did you leave without telling us? How everything happened?” Rosa asks me confused.

“Let’s go inside, I don’t want Leo and Jose alone! I will tell you everything!” I whisper and we start walking inside with my dad, Ivan and me in the end.

I am freaking out now that I have stopped driving and I have nothing else to ‘think’!

Now, I realize everything…

“I don’t want him to die…” I whisper breathless and Ivan smiles at me in sympathy.

“I know rose and I am sure he won’t! You did it!” he says and kisses my forehead.

We stop when we approach Leo and Jose that are right outside the operating room and Leo comes and hugs me crying as my father and Ivan take one step back to leave us some space.

I wrap my arms around him with every power I have left and he burst into bends. He is shaking, I can smell his fear and I am more than certain that we feel the same thing! I am so scared of Noah dying and I won’t bear his loss even if I am never going to be with him again.

I just want him safe and happy!

“Thank you sister, thank you!” he whispers and I start crying in his neck.

“Shh… Don’t thank me! I couldn’t let him die, you know…”

“I know and I am sure he knows as well, he can feel it! He won’t leave us, you… I believe it but… I can’t imagine losing the asshole!” he murmurs while sobbing and I nod unable to talk.

The asshole… He is right, he has been an asshole but death is the last thing I want for him!

“Guys sit! You don’t look so well and Cora maybe you need to go and rest in Ivan’s room for a while!” Mischa says worried and Chloe nods shortly.

I turn to look at Rosa with Jose that is also crying and I lower my head with tears falling constantly from my eyes. Jose always loved Noah because they grew up together, they never broke apart and he didn’t leave from Noah’s side although Noah was giving him a hard time. They couldn’t agree in a thing, Jose was kind and Noah was coldhearted or to say it better logical. He was using his mind and not his heart like Jose. Now that Jose is going to come with us I can see how much he suffers and that he would like to stay with Noah but…

He thinks it will be better because he has lost his patience with Noah and he doesn’t like his choices. He leaves him because he doesn’t want to hate him in the end.

And don’t ask me how I know it, I just do because I know them both, I lived them…

Rosa is holding Jose in her arms with a hurt expression and when she feels my eyes on her she gives me a warm emotional smile and points discreetly my aunt that is sitting on a chair with a horrified expression and Chloe is sitting next to her caressing her back.

I don’t know why my aunt is in pain for Noah to be honest, it’s a surprise for me and she never liked Noah, she always wanted to kill him and I don’t know what changed now. Okay, she has a kind heart generally but worrying for Noah is something she would have never done under logical circumstances. She doesn’t want me to suffer because of his loss, yes but…

What is happening here?

My dad clears his throat dragging me out of my thoughts and I turn to him and Owen. My dad looks troubled, the more I am observing his expression the more certain I become about it. He is thinking of something and his expression is dark and this gets the s**t out of me. If you see him you will understand what I mean.

My brother from the other side is calmer than everyone. He hates Noah, he wanted to kill him so many times in the past and it won’t cost him something if Noah dies. I understand him at some point, he wants to protect me now for the years he didn’t but it hurts me a bit watching him so impassive.

Ivan is the last person I lay my eyes on because he is the one I want and need at a moment like this. He saved me when we talked on the phone, it was him that made me gain myself and do anything I could to come to the palace. I doubt if I had made it without him because I was in a desperate condition.

We break our hug with Leo that keeps on crying and my dad puts him to sit next my aunt while I take two steps and bury myself in Ivan’s arms. I feel my body’s muscles relaxing slowly and I stop crying exhausted.

I think I feel nothing right now, it’s like I am a spectator of my life, like this is just a bad dream.

“Are you alright love? Do you need anything?” he asks me softly through our link and I stiffen nervously.

“I am fine considering what happened, all I need is to make sure that he will be alright! I have no idea who did this or why… I am worried Ivan, I don’t want him to die, he deserves a second chance in life!” I reply weakly and he nods in agreement.

He leads me to some seats opposite my aunt, Leo and Chloe and sits next to me without leaving me from his arms and kisses the top of my head making me purr. We look each other in the eyes and he caresses my arm smiling in sympathy.

“You understand what I really mean, right? He is Miles’ father and I just want him happy in the end. I found the one for me and so needs he! I am sure that Camilla is not the right one for him and…”

“Cora, I know! Don’t worry, I know you won’t leave me, you don’t want to be with him again and you want only me! There is no way I get worried about us, I am never going to doubt you! And… You have already agreed to marry me in your own way so…” he cuts me off before I end my phrase and I nod smiling touched.

This man is going to be the death of me because he is amazing, is he really existing or it’s just in my imagination?

“I love you very much! I really want to marry you and spend the rest of my life with you. See? Now I said it clearly!” I reply and he gives me a big, warm smile trying not to celebrate about it in a time like this in front of Leo.

“I… You make me the happiest man there is and…”

“Cora, can you tell us what happened? How did you get there?” my aunt speaks up interrupting him and I snap my head to her nervously.

She is panicked now, she is shaking and this is confusing me.

It’s it weird? I am fine, I have not even a scratch on me if you put aside that my clothes are full of blood and I look like a wreck…

“Your aunt is right Cora! Why didn’t you tell anyone?” Mischa asks and my father crosses his hands in front of his chest in frustration.

“I am sorry… Caleb texted me after aunt left and told me that Noah wanted to meet me next the lake near the city. He said Noah had taken the file and he wanted to give it to me. He also mentioned that he would be present and I thought that telling you was pointless. The lake wasn’t so far away, it wouldn’t have taken me time and I wanted to tell you once I would have the file with me!” I reply awkwardly and my aunt stands up, walks and kneels right in front of me with an angry expression that makes my blood freeze.

Shit!

“What happened when you got there?” she asks shortly pressuring me to speak more.

“When I got there neither Noah or Caleb were there and I called Caleb but he never replied. Some seconds later I saw his car coming to me and I relaxed, I thought he wasn’t answering my call because he was close but then the car stopped, I listened to an explosion and I run to the car to see Noah and not Caleb! I guess you can imagine the rest, I put Noah in my car and I came back the sooner I could. I have no idea where Caleb is, why he didn’t answer my calls or why Noah had his car.” I explain and she turns pale, stands up, stumbles and my dad catches her in time before she falls on the floor.

“Are you alright? What is happening?” I ask ready to stand up as well and Ivan stops me.

“I… I don’t know what is happening anymore. Where is he?” she murmurs running out of patience and my dad puts her to sit again.

“Noah changed cars with my dad to avoid Camilla. He didn’t want her to get suspicious and they decided to make a plan and seem like my dad left first and Noah followed him. I know because they told me and my dad left after Camilla saw that his car was missing.” Leo states wiping his tears and most of us shake our heads in understanding.

“Alright, then this makes sense as to why Noah was driving Caleb’s car and he left first but it doesn’t help us as for where Caleb is and what happened and he hasn’t appeared till now!” Mischa says and Ivan nods troubled.

“What if he… No, there is no way! Caleb is not such a man!” Rosa whispers instinctually and Leo growls annoyed listening to her.

“My father has nothing to do with it and you know it! He wouldn’t do such a thing to Noah and Cora or anyone else!” he says through his teeth and stands up in frustration.

“I know, I am sorry! You know that I respect and admire your dad but I am so damn confused.” She replies truthfully and he nods raising his hands in defeat.

“The file?” Owen asks me taking a step closer and I lower my head disappointed.

“Burned already… It was on the passenger’s seat from what I saw but I was too late, it was turning into dust …” I murmur in despair and run my hand through my hair forcing myself not to cry.

I am fine with the decision I took, I had to save Noah, his life was in danger and the file was already a lost case, I couldn’t lose more time to try and save it.

“We have to know if Noah talked with Caleb and when!” my dad states more collected than everyone else and I sigh as I remember Noah’s phone.

“I have it, it was in his pocket! I left it in my car with mine!”

“Okay, I am going to take it then!” Chloe says standing up the moment we hear a woman screaming and cursing and Jose jumps up surprised.

Camilla!

“Where is that b***h and where is my mate?” she roars from the end of the corridor and I stand up spotting her walking to me in hurry.

“The hell!” Mischa exclaims and the rest of my family stands up in tension.

“YOU!” she screams pointing me.

“What did you do to my mate? What? Where is he?” she continues as she gets closer and Jose blocks her way with Rosa.

Ivan pulls me back protectively, my dad and brother growl warningly, Chloe is again next to my aunt that doesn’t look so well and Mischa is standing somewhere in the middle quite dizzy with Leo.

The last thing we needed was her!

“Did you decide to get rid of him? Where were you and why is he in the operating room?” she screams pushing back Jose.

“Who told her?” Owen asks running out of patience.

“Some pack members that were with Leo when he got informed!” she yells and turns to Rosa ready to attack her.

“I HAD ENOUGH OF YOU!” I roar and get free from Ivan’s hold passing by everyone and walk to her outraged.

“NO b***h, I HAD ENOUGH!” she screams and slaps me the moment I reach her.

“f**k!” Ivan, Owen, Mischa and Chloe scream in union and I growl feeling Cynthia one step away from taking control and killing her.

All I see is red now and I raise my hand slapping her before I realize it. The second my hand touches her cheek my skin shudders from the sound and she gasps shocked taking some steps back dizzy.

“You are pregnant otherwise I would have killed you! Did you hear me?” I scream as Ivan grabs me from my waist and pulls me backwards.

“YOU…” she starts and gets ready to come to me again but Leo jumps in front of her and she freezes.

“ENOUGH WITH YOU! GET LOST RIGHT NOW!” he says through his teeth.

“He is my mate, I am going nowhere!” she shouts back with audacity and he growls.

“Jose, take her away!” he orders and she pushes him away.

“I am your Luna, you can’t touch me!

“The hell you are! Untill my brother wakes up I do whatever I want, you don’t seem so worried about him anyway so I am making you a favor, you want have to act!” he replies turning red from anger and Jose grabs her arm.

“I am your Luna i***t! Stop touching me!” she screams and Rosa’s eyes turn black immediately.

Well, Camilla raised her voice to her mate so…

‘Poor’ Camilla!

“Leave her to me!” Rosa’s lycan growls and Jose pulls back shocked.

“What the…” Camilla starts to say but Rosa grabs her and starts dragging her away easily.

Thanks God!

“I can’t believe this witch!” Chloe murmurs breathless and I exhale heavily.

You tell me?

“She won’t bother us again, I assure you!” Leo states and I nod in agreement.

Rosa is going to kill her if she tries anything ‘funny’, you see, my friend might seems sweet and unable to harm even a fly but you don’t want her mad and Camilla did it with great success so now she is going to face the consequences.

Leo sits again with Owen on his side, my aunt is already sitting with my dad tapping her back (weird) and Mischa starts murmuring something with Jose. I and Ivan are about to sit again while Chloe gets ready to go and take mine and Ivan’s phones from my car but then my aunt jumps up like a flash with a horrified expression and places her hands on her chest right above her heart.

For a second I lose the ground under my feet, it’s the first time she gets paralyzed from fear and I have a bad feeling about it…

This is…

I don’t know how to describe it!

“Caleb is in danger! He is in pain!” she states trembling and I blink my eyes confused.

“Aunt what are you talking about? How do you know it?”

“He is my second mate!”
