Chapter 12

Magnus is busy, sitting in his office in the mansion. He brings home some paperwork he didn't finish because of his best friend.

"Teatime sir," Nyx said behind the door.

"Come in.." Magnus answered.

Nyx pushed the door by his body slowly while carrying the tray of snacks.

"What did you prepare for me?"Magnus asked excitedly as he stood up and helped Nyx. Nyx placed the tray on the center table of the mini sitting room inside the office.

"Freshly brewed coffee and puff pastry," Nyx said with a forced smile and was about to turn his back when Magnus grabbed one of his hands that made him sit on the couch forcefully. Nyx pouted without looking at Magnus.

"Nyx, are you still sulking?"

Nyx didn't respond, he is not just sulking, his heart is burning from jealousy from yesterday's sight. Nyx cannot hold his flaming jealousy and burst out in anger.

"Why are you letting someone hug you?!" Nyx said without thinking what will be the effect of his statement to Magnus.

"Nyx...it was just a picture taken and he is my best friend," Magnus explained in a trembling voice.

"Is hugging necessary? Do you like it too?" Nyx asked.

“N–No. No, I don't like it."

"Then why did you let him hug you?" Nyx asked again in frustration, not content with Magnus's answer.

"The next time you let someone hug you, don't ever dare come close to me. I will not sleep with you ever again." Nyx quickly stands up and storms out of the office room.

Magnus, who is trying to understand what he means by 'sleep with you', curses him.

Shit, that has been my dream since I met you, Nyx, to sleep with you. Are you not going to let me sleep with you someday?

Magnus stands up from the couch and chases Nyx who is still fuming in anger towards Magnus's room to clean and arrange the bedroom.

Nyx halted when a pair of arms encircled his waist.

"Nyx...please let's talk properly. I'm sorry...it won't happen again."

Nyx's heartbeat became faster and realized something. Why is he so angry and full of jealousy?

"Nyx, are you jealous right?" Magnus asked to confirm it and he wanted to hear Nyx is feeling jealous of his best friend.

"I–I just don't like someone touching you." Nyx lowers his head and tears start to fall on his cheeks.

Nyx doesn't understand but it hurts to his chest thinking Magnus will hug someone like they do on the bed at night someday.

Nyx is happy and content being like that for how many months now but he can't imagine Magnus will replace him so soon.

Nyx is so comfortable and content with their setup and does not even think about what he is to his employer. All he knows, they love to cuddle, they love to watch movies, sleep on the same bed, sniff each other's scent, and take care of each other.

"Nyx, I promise–, forgive me. I should have not allowed him." Magnus tried to tame the angry helper.

"How can I be sure if you are not allowing him or he will not hug you anymore."

"Nyx, trust me okay.." Magnus pulls Nyx closer and turns his body to face him.

Nyx can't look at Magnus straight in his eyes. His heart is beating fast and can't even contain his feelings.

"Nyx, tell me you are jealous, right?" Magnus's brows furrowed and played his thumb on Nyx's lips.

Nyx just nods and blushes.

"Why?"

"I don't know," Nyx answered in a whisper tone as he felt Magnus's breath fanning into his face while staring at him intently.

To Nyx, Magnus' eyes are hypnotizing and telling him to lean closer and before he knew it, his lips reached Magnus's cherry plump lips. Nyx just wants to give a peck on his lips but he didn't expect that Magnus will open it slightly and he feels the wet and warm lips.

Magnus starts to brush his lips to his and Nyx suddenly feels dazed and cannot react immediately. Nyx is feeling weird by the soft and gentle kiss. Nyx and Magnus are busy tasting each other's saliva when they hear a loud fake cough.

"Hmm!" Mrs. Mateo is standing from the foot of the stairs. She was about to go up but the two were busy making out.

Mrs. Mateo is not surprised if the two get along very well because this was her plan. And to catch them in the act, she is rejoicing but she composed and speaks and acts naturally.

"Long time no see son, I know you are busy but I didn't expect you to be much busier." Mrs. Mateo chuckles.

Nyx's eyes widened in shock and his color turns pale as he meets the owner of the hospital once more. It feels like his tongue was cut and can't form a single word from too much embarrassment.

"Hello dear, is my son naughty and playing a fool on you?" Nyx can't understand but he remains quiet as he bowed to show respect.

Mrs. Mateo walks upstairs and goes directly to the office and sees the prepared cup of coffee and puff pastry.

"Son, it seems Nyx is more delicious than the food he prepared for you, am I right?" Mrs. Mateo teases as she sees the coffee still untouched and newly brewed according to the judgment of her nostrils.

Nyx wished the ground would open and swallow him. Mrs. Mateo keeps teasing his son but it really affects him because he came here as a helper but Mrs. Mateo caught them kissing wild.

Shit, did I moan?

"Mom! Can you be straight to the point that brings you here?"

"Oh, I'm sorry to disturb you, my son. Nyx, take seat honey, besides my son please." Mrs. Mateo ordered and Nyx obeyed without a second thought.

"Omg, Magnus! You are a perfect couple. Stay put, let me have one photo of you two." Mrs. Mateo quickly takes out her phone and captures Nyx and Magnus sitting on the couch together while Magnus's left arm encircling Nyx's slim waist.

As soon as her mom told her she wanted to take a photo, Magnus took the opportunity that fast.

Feeling contented, Mrs. Mateo put back her phone on her clutch bag and faced the two in a serious face again.

"Mom, when did you learn to ship us, huh?" Magnus chuckles while Nyx's face is so red from embarrassment and can't even look straight.

"Since the day I found Nyx..do you have any problem with that?" Mrs. Mateo revealed the truth. There's no reason for hiding her true intention why she hired Nyx. Though Nyx is indeed indebted, she knew that Nyx did his best to pay the bill.

"Ha?!" Magnus and Nyx said in unison.

Nyx and Magnus look at each other and look at Mrs. Mateo again who is now sipping the coffee that Nyx prepared for Magnus.

"Oh my god, this coffee is perfect, did you make it honey?" Mrs. Mateo asked Nyx directly.

"Yes, mam.." Nyx answered with a nod and pursed lips.

"Haiist, call me mom. No mam, is that clear honey?"

Nyx is too shy to praise and just nod. He secretly smiles when he receives a compliment from the mother of the person he loves..wait what? Does he love Magnus?

"Anyway son, honey. I came here to give you this."

Mrs. Mateo takes out a passport that belongs to Nyx. Nyx was shocked to see his passport. He now recalls and almost forgets that he pawned his passport to a loan shark. But it came puzzled just now that the loan shark never bothered him asking for his p*****t.

Did Mrs. Mateo plan everything? Why the loan shark didn't chase him to pay back the money. Is the loan shark man also made by Mrs. Mateo?

"I am sorry if I made you like you will do everything just to pay your debt in the hospital honey, I just really like you for my son for a very long time– am–" Mrs. Mateo said that made the two shocked.

"What do you mean mom?" Magnus asked in curiosity.

"Nyx honey, I tried my best not to put you in this situation but my heart never had a good beating after your father died. I know you struggled so much and as I watched you working day and night just to pay the bill, it hurts me so much, forgive me." Mrs. Mateo explained and averted her gaze to her son and spoke again.

"Never mind son, you will not understand. I need to go now okay, you can continue where you stop and I won't disturb you at all." Mrs. Mateo chuckles and looks at Magnus with a malicious smile.

"Mom!"

"What!" Mrs. Mateo looks at Magnus fiercely and becomes soft when she transfers her eyes to Nyx.

"Nyx, honey, pardon me. My intention is clear, please take care of this idiot." Mrs. Mateo chuckles and elegantly walks out of the office and bids farewell.

When Mrs. Mateo leaves, Nyx quickly runs to the servant's room and closes the door while holding his chest.

The truth is Nyx was relieved. One of the reasons why he is holding back and afraid to admit and keep denying his feelings is because he is afraid that Mrs. Mateo will find out and think that he is flirting and having an affair with his son with an ulterior motive.

Nyx doesn't want Mrs. Mateo to think of him seducing Magnus to escape and avoid paying the bill. Nyx didn't expect that Mrs. Mateo herself set him up to become close to his son.

Magnus laughed so hard and chased Nyx after realizing what his mom did for him. The mother knows best. I love you, mom. Magnus said to himself.

Nyx is trying to figure it out.

Does Mrs. Mateo plan everything? Did she mean it?

"Nyx..open the door please..." Magnus knocks many times but Nyx is just standing at the back of the door. When his breathing normalized, he slowly opened the door and Magnus entered his room. Magnus cupped his face and leaned closer so fast and ravished his lips aggressively.

"Nyx, the more you keep hiding like this, the more I am wanting you.." Magnus said after breaking the kiss that he felt Nyx can't breathe properly at all.

"D–Daddy..." Nyx's eyes widen as he slips his tongue and quickly covers his mouth when he utters his secret endearment to the person he likes or rather says he loves.

"Nyx, can you say it again?" Magnus removes his hand from his mouth.

"It's Fuddy Duddy," Nyx whispered while staring at Magnus's eyes.

"Nyx, when did you start to like me? Do you mean I'm an old-fashioned guy?"

"I...I don't like you." Nyx lowers his head, his face flushed red again, tempting to admit what he feels.

He wanted to say I don't like you because I love you, but he doesn't like to confess because he is still sulking a little bit about his best friend.

"Nyx please give me a chance, can I?"

Nyx just nods without saying anything. Magnus pulled him on his chest and hugged him tightly.

"Nyx, let me prove to you that I really like you and I love you already.." Magnus's eyes glittering in tears but he controlled not to let it fall and speak again.

"Now that mom gave us blessings, I won't hold back at all. And I will show her that she chose the right one for me. I love you, Nyx..." Magnus kept rubbing Nyx's back that made Nyx feel weird.

Magnus lifts Nyx's chin and leans closer. Nyx can't resist how Magnus looks at him and he always anticipates every time this scenario will happen. Nyx closes his eyes when Magnus's lips touch his.

Nyx was about to reciprocate the kiss when the doorbell sound echoed inside the mansion.

The two quickly separate their bodies and Magnus curses.

Damn! Magnus cursed.

Magnus walks outside from Nyx's room to open the door. Nyx tailed him and to his shock, as soon as Magnus opened the door, Rein hugged Magnus tight.

"Bro!" Rein greeted with a wide smile on his face.
