Chapter 4 Reunion with Katherine

Katherine stepped out of the car, her chin held high, exuding an air of arrogance in her Chanel ensemble.

"Ms. Jones, congratulations on your marriage!" The manager rushed up, oozing flattery. "We've brought in ten top wedding planners just for you to guarantee the perfection of your big day!"

Katherine ignored the manager, her attention fixed on a woman entering the revolving doors of Kathris Events.

Even after all these years, she would never mistake her. That woman was definitely Eileen!

Why was she here?!

A surge of anxiety gripped Katherine. She turned to the manager. "The woman who just walked in with the police officer, what's her deal?"

The manager glanced back. "Oh, she's a new employee. Seems she's that officer's girlfriend."

"Interesting." Katherine immediately made up her mind.

Years ago, her mother hadn't managed to get rid of Eileen's unborn child, leaving Katherine perpetually on edge. Now that Eileen had resurfaced, Katherine needed to know where she had been and what she was planning!

She raised an eyebrow and ordered, "I want her to handle my wedding alone. The others can go. Pay them as agreed."

"This... this is excellent!" the manager gushed. "Ms. Jones, only a woman of your caliber deserves Mr. Chris Kenney!"

Katherine flashed a sinister smile before getting back into the car. "Have her come to my house immediately. From makeup to the ceremony, she handles it all. No slip-ups!"

"Understood." The manager carefully closed the car door and bowed deeply as she drove off.

As a result, Eileen's first day on the job didn't even allow her time to familiarize herself with the company before she received her first wedding assignment.

She assumed Brian had arranged it through his connections and asked the manager to give her a case. After all, as a star police officer, he knew many people.

However, Eileen was shocked when the company car dropped her off at her father's lakeside villa!

Standing at the entrance, Eileen was stunned for a long while. She could now confirm that the woman she saw this morning at the company was indeed Katherine.

And clearly, Katherine had recognized her too!

Was Katherine intentionally assigning her to this wedding?

Eileen recalled how years ago, when she had just found out she was pregnant, Katherine's mother, Vivian, had sent people after her.

She had barely managed to escape.

Now, even though she was braver and stronger, Eileen still wanted to avoid a direct confrontation with Katherine. She feared that those two malicious women might target her son.

As she hesitated about whether to leave, Katherine appeared with a smile, acting like a delighted sister reuniting with a long-lost sibling.

"Dear sister, it's been so long! I've missed you! How have you been?" Katherine greeted Eileen warmly.

Eileen shot her a cold glance. "Just the usual school and work, nothing special. Ms. Jones, I'm here to handle your wedding. Let's keep it professional and stay out of private matters."

Katherine bit her lip, seething inside. Despite the years, Eileen still had the same infuriating demeanor!

But Katherine couldn't afford to scare her off just yet.

Forcing a smile, she led Eileen inside warmly.

Eileen sighed. Now that she was here, she might as well see what Katherine was planning.

She began discussing wedding arrangements with Katherine until Katherine asked her to do a wedding hairstyle.

As soon as Eileen raised her hand, Katherine shrieked, "Eileen, are you mad at me? Why are you pulling so hard? You just yanked out a bunch of my hair!"

Eileen retorted, "I haven't even touched your hair!"

Katherine feigned disappointment. "Eileen, have you learned to lie now? Who have you been associating with these years?"

Eileen glared at her. "You're the one putting on a show."

Katherine suddenly smiled, waving her hand magnanimously. "Forget it. I won't hold it against you. I mean, just look at yourself. It's clear you've had a tough time."

Eileen remained silent.

Katherine continued, "You can disrespect me if you like, but remember, on the wedding day, you must obey and respect my groom. He is the most prestigious man in Los Angeles!"

Eileen was speechless. She didn't care who Katherine was marrying, but seeing her flaunt like this only solidified Eileen's resolve to avoid provoking Katherine. Once the wedding was over, she never wanted to cross paths with her again.

Seeing Eileen's compliance, Katherine smiled with satisfaction.

The past four years with Chris had been heavenly, and she wasn't about to let Eileen take that away as soon as she returned!

Once she was done toying with Eileen, she planned to eliminate her for good! This time, she wouldn't let Eileen escape!

A week had passed, and the Jones family knew Eileen was back.

Yet, Eileen only came around when necessary to discuss the wedding with Katherine.

And of course, no one knew she had a son.

One morning, as Katherine contemplated how to torment Eileen further today, she received an anonymous package filled with nude photos and a blackmail letter!

The letter threatened to play her explicit photos and videos at the wedding if she dared to marry Chris.

"Mom, what do I do?" Katherine sobbed, her heart racing with fear.

"What? With several men? Are you that thirsty?"

Vivian, enraged and exasperated, threw the photos across the room. "Why were you so reckless? You already have the perfect man, why mess around?"

"Chris and I have been together for four years, but he never wants to have s*x, says he's waiting for marriage!" Katherine wailed. "I'm a normal woman with needs! Sometimes I just can't control myself..."

"Even so, your affairs can't afford to be exposed!" Vivian paced anxiously. "This isn't just about marrying Chris anymore. It's about our family's survival!"

"Mom, I don't want to die!" Katherine cried hysterically.

If Chris found out she had been with other men, he'd surely kill her. His pride was not to be trifled with!

"Stop crying!" Vivian thought for a moment. Their lives were at stake, so they had to deal with these photos first.

Then, with a wicked grin, Vivian said, "I have a plan. We'll make Eileen take the fall!"
