Reject Me

{Raven’s POV} “I think that she’s another annoying she wolf, and that she’s wasting our time going and getting her bag when we have more important things to do. I also think she’s weak, and sad. I know she’s had it rough, but to be honest, I don’t need a weak mate like that, and I plan to reject her as soon as she heals!” Alpha Ronan yelled at Dominic. “I-I..” I spoke softly, carefully choosing my words, and trying to control my emotions. “I think I’ll go alone..” I felt a tear slide down my cheek, and I turned quickly racing down the hallway. I didn’t want to be here, I couldn’t go back to the Jameson’s, but how am I supposed to stay here in the pack house with him. “Raven, wait!” I could hear Dominic yell, he was chasing after me. I hated being chased, it scared me to my core. Fear and pain tore through me, and before I knew what was happening I was on the floor. “AHHH!” I screamed out in pain. “Raven!” Dominic ran to me, dropping to his knees on the floor and pulling my head into his lap. I looked up at him, my body trembling as pain shot through me. “What.. what’s happening to me?” I asked, grabbing my chest and trying to catch my breath. “I think you’re shifting!” He said. I felt one of my bones snap, then crack back into place. “AHHHH!” I screamed out. “Dominic..” I whimpered out. Suddenly I saw Ronan out of the corner of my eye, he was walking up to us. “We need to take her outside, it’ll be the best place for her!” He said softly. I was slightly taken aback until I saw his eyes were black. It was his wolf that was forward now, he must have pushed Ronan back. He walked over, lifting me into his arms with ease and running me outside. “Thank you..” I whispered to him. He laid me in the grass and his eyes began to flash back to that of Ronan’s. His amber eyes staring through me. “D-Dominic..” I whimpered out. “What do I do?” I asked, keeping my eyes on him. “Just breathe, reach out to your wolf, and try to imagine the ground under her paws. Listen for her, listen to her.” He said pulling my head back into his lap. I slowly closed my eyes and breathed in deeply. “Okay, I’m listening.” I stilled myself, pushing the pain away. My cries stopped, soon it was as if it didn’t hurt at all. My bones snapped, and reformed, I sat with my eyes closed, breathing slowly. It took 20 minutes of deep breathing and terrible pain. I sat still, not moving, not crying, not whining, just breathing. “Shift..” I commanded. I felt my bones snap, it was a sudden burst of pain, then it was over. I opened my eyes, my head still in Dominic’s lap. I looked up to him, seeing a large snout sticking out. I stood slowly, and carefully looking down at my paws. They were huge, and my fur was a deep black, cast with purple and blue shades. I stretched out my back and my legs as I stood up fully. I was tall, taller than Dominic and Ronan both. “Raven..” I could hear a soft voice whisper in my head. “I’m here!” I answered back. “I’m Wren, I’m your wolf, I’m so sorry I haven’t been here for you, you’ve had to do all of this alone. You’ll have to go through more alone, now that we found our mate, and he wants to reject us. I’m afraid I’m not strong enough to heal you. I’m weakened from a forced shift, and from the possibility of losing our mate.. I’m sorry Raven.” She whimpered. “No, don’t be sorry. I’ve gone through so much worse, and now at least I have you. I have a job, I have more than I did this morning. Even if he rejects us, we’ll still have each other. I don’t need him, we don’t need him!” I said stubbornly. “I can’t stay, I need rest, and so do you.. we’ll talk later Raven.” She said softly. “Rest up Wren, we have all of our lives to talk!” I said back, cheerfully. Soon I doubled over, shifting back into me. My clothes were gone, and the gashes from my attack this morning split back open. The scars over my back and the backs of my legs were on full display. “F***!” I breathed in sharply. “Well, that hurts..” I whispered, covering my breasts as good as I could and huddling closely together on the ground. Dominic took his shirt off and slid it over my head. I pulled it down over myself, sliding my arms into it. “You popped your stitches, I’ll take you back to the hospital.” He said carefully lifting me up bridal style. “How did you..” Ronan started. “How did you force the shift? How did you stop the pain?” “I didn’t stop the pain, it hurt the whole time, I’m just good at hiding the pain I feel. I forced the shift by commanding her to shift, I felt that if I pushed her, she could do it. She wanted to shift, she wanted to talk to me. I did it for her, I didn’t want her to suffer.” I said coldly. “If you’re going to reject me, just go ahead and do it. I don’t care if I’m healed or not. I don’t want you as a mate, you’re cold, and uncaring. I don’t need someone who is going to treat me badly. If I wanted that, then I would have just stayed in that h*******.” “I..” he started but Dominic cut him off. “If he rejects you, he can do it while you’re not profusely bleeding. You may not care about your health, but I do, and I’m not going to let him do that to you before you get properly taken care of!” He said, carrying me towards the pack hospital. I looked over his shoulder, I could see Ronan, his face was twisted in sadness. An emotion I hadn’t seen from him, but one that was better than what he has showed me. “Dominic.. it’s fine.. I always kinda knew that I wouldn’t have a mate.” I said softly. “You do have a mate though, and I swear to you that he could be good for you. He’s just.. stubborn..” he said. I snuggled into his chest and closed my eyes, exhaustion beginning to take over me. “Thank you..” I whispered. “For what?” He asked, pulling me closer to him. “For everything..” I whispered softly, before letting sleep take over me.
