The Hospital

{Raven’s POV}

When I woke up I was in a hospital bed, my back was sore, and I had a bandage over my arm. Dominic sat quietly in the corner with this arms crossed firmly. He seemed to be mind linking with someone, and if I had to guess it was the Alpha.

I stood carefully and made my way to the window, opening it up and taking in a deep breath of fresh air. “Raven.. sorry I was..” Dominic started.

“Don’t apologize Dominic, you have a big responsibility to the pack, I understand that you needed to mind link, which is why I just came on over here and opened the window. I just needed some fresh air.” I said softly. I walked back to the hospital bed and sat down carefully.

My whole body ached, and my back burned. “They disinfected your back, and stitched it back up. They went ahead and took some blood from you, and they said they’d be back soon with some pain meds.” He said crossing the room quickly, making it to my side within a moment.

“I knew I felt sore.. I guess the shift caused that.” I said, softly gripping the sheets on the bed. “Hopefully this will pass soon..”

“What you said earlier..” he began. “About, being good at hiding your pain.”

I nodded. “Yeah, I had to hide it.. every time they’d bring around one of their friends, or told me to do something. If I showed I was hurting, they’d only hurt me worse..” I whispered, looking down at the ground. “Don’t worry about the Alpha rejecting me Dominic. I honestly don’t want him as a mate. Mates are meant to be loving, and they’re meant to care for you above all else. I should have known that my mate would be the exception to this. I always dreamed that my mate would find me, and save me from the pain. Instead, I saved myself, I got a job, and I left early morning so they couldn’t stop me. I made it to the pack house and claimed sanctuary. I suffered too much, to allow myself to hurt more because of the mate bond. He can go to h*** for all I care!”

“Raven..” he started.

Suddenly a burning pain started in my chest, the pain wasn’t bad a first, but then it was unbearable. I fell to the floor and my breathing became sporadic. “Dominic! It hurts!” I cried out clawing at my chest.

“D*****, that j******!” He yelled before running out the door.

I laid on the floor, tears pouring from my eyes. A doctor ran in with a needle, he jabbed me with it and soon the world faded away, and I was asleep.

{Dominic’s POV}

I ran through the pack house and up to Ronan’s room. I could hear a girl screaming, way too loudly. I kicked open the door and saw her on top of him, riding him with a grin on both of their faces. I ran over, grabbing her and slinging her off of him and into the floor. “What the h*** is wrong with you Ronan!” I yelled. “Get out of here, and do not come back!” I yelled at the girl behind me. She ran from the room, and down the stairs.

“Really? You’re going to come in here and ruin my night then yell at me? What’s your problem?” He said, as if he didn’t meet his mate earlier, and he didn’t know..

“Ronan, Raven is already in the hospital, her body is damaged horribly, and you’re going to do this and hurt her worse?” I screamed at him.

A look of realization flashed over his face. “D*****!” He yelled, slamming his fist through the wall. “Dominic.. you have to believe me, I wasn’t even thinking.. I had completely forgotten that it would hurt her.. I just needed to let off some steam!” He pleaded, and I believed him. He is a lot of things, but he isn’t a liar, at least not to me.

“You’re not going to do this to her!” I snapped at him. “You’re either going to go and be a good mate to her, or you’re going to reject her. You’re going back with me now! You have until we get there to decide what you want to do, but I’m not going to let you continually hurt her! She has been through enough, at the hands of the people who adopted her! The people she was meant to trust and be loved by! You, are her mate! Your mate is supposed to be your other half, and they’re never supposed to hurt you! What you just did, whether you were thinking or not.. you hurt her!” I snapped at him. I turned to his closet and grabbed him some clothes. “Now clean up, and let’s go!”

{Ronan’s POV}

I walked over, snatching the clothes from him and going into the bathroom. I washed off my face, then tossed on the clothes. I’m going to reject her anyways, so who cares if I have another woman’s scent on me? I made my way out of the bathroom and stormed out of the pack house and towards the hospital.

Once we got there Dominic led the way to her room. The doctor stopped us as we were walking in. “I sedated her after you left Beta! She’ll be groggy, but she should be able to talk to you.” He said before walking off down the hallway.

As we walked in, she looked up to us, a smile flashed across her face when she saw Dominic, but then she saw me. Her face turned bitter, and hateful. “Hi Dominic..” she spoke, softly. “Alpha..” she finished coldly.

“Raven..” he said softly walking over and sitting down on the bed with her. He placed his hand on hers and I had to stifle a growl. How could I be so jealous, when I was just with another woman?

“I know what you were doing.. it’s fine if you don’t want me, and if you want another lover, but at least respect me enough to reject me first!” She snapped at me. “I’ve felt enough pain in my lifetime, enough for many lifetimes over, but this is just ridiculous. After knowing the h*** that I went through, as the Alpha you shouldn’t have hurt me too.”

She was right, a deep growl sounded from my throat. I wanted to yell, I wanted to scream about how she is just a weak she wolf and she shouldn’t talk to me that way, but.. she was right.

“Sadly, I don’t have a last name because my adoptive parents never really signed the papers. They also never told me my real name, so you’re stuck with me until we can figure it out. I can’t reject you until I have my last name. So we’re stuck in this stupid bond until then.” She said, crossing her arms.

“They never told you your name?” I asked.

“No, and they said I wasn’t worthy of theirs. So, maybe you can order it out of them as their Alpha. According to them I was left on the doorstep of the orphanage with a letter that included my name. I don’t know if it gave a last name or not.” She said looking down at her hands.
