Chapter 2

(Narah POV) The room was filled with silence. I tried my best to not look in his direction. All I want is this meeting to be over so I could get out of this room. Get away from him. "And who is she?" The earth king voiced, grabbing my attention. Big mistake. His beautiful forest green eyes were staring right into mine. "Narah" I voiced out without thinking. Did I just reveal my real name? Caspian's head turned and looked at me in shock. He must be wondering what the heck I was thinking. He wore a confused face but quickly covered it before turning to the Earth king. "Yes, her name is Narah. She is my sister". "Oh, then she is also a dragon," The earth king asked as Caspian frowned. He immediately put his hands in front of me before slightly pushing me behind him. "Yes. She is a white dragon" On the corner of my eyes I could see how confused Caspian's mate, Ashley was. She doesn’t know anything about me. I was planning on telling her after we get closer. King Tristan nodded his head, his eyes fixed on me for a few more seconds before looking away. I breathed out in relief as I no longer felt his intense stares. "Shall we sit?" Abel voiced out as we all nodded. Caspian and Narah sat down while Abel and I stood behind them. The three earth guardians sat opposite. "Let's get straight to the point." Prince Malcolm, the blond in the glasses said taking out a file. "Now the rules you have broken after the verdict for the previously broken rules." He opened the file to a particular page and laid it on the table before looking up at Caspian. "First, let's talk about how you recklessly reveal yourself to 3 ordinary human beings. Your anger got the best of you and you exposed yourself. And later in order to cover that both you and your Vizier used magic on them. Along with that, you used magic on the hospital doctors tricking them to make you enter an ICU, you manipulated several other people, used an abundance of magic on the accident and the list goes on" he kept going. I cursed at the never-ending list. Caspian has really done it. Going to another land and breaking the internationally kept law is no joke. It is no doubt that even after being a King, Caspian is under their mercy. The international peace law applies to all being irrespective of the position. "I don’t understand the need to bring my mate inside this conversation. She is not involved in my action so do you need to tell this in front of her?" Caspian voiced cutting off the prince. "The punishment we impose for this involves your mate" The other blond prince, Prince Samuel said making my eyes widen. "My mate will not be involved in any sort of punishment" Caspian growled standing up. "King Caspian. You must know that you are in no right to talk back to us. Especially after causing so much destruction" Prince Malcolm stood up with a glare. Caspian ground his teeth as Abel made him sit down. "What are you suggesting, Prince Samuel" Abel asked as the other brother sat down still glaring at Caspian. "We suggest mate separation for a year," he said as Caspian slammed his hand on the table. The table cracked making all of us jump in shock. "I will never agree on that" His eyes glowed furiously. "You have no choice," Prince Malcolm said as the atmosphere turned tense. Things were not going well at all. Caspian was on the verge of exploding. I mean yes, using magic in front of the humans and revealing his identity was wrong but isn’t mate separation a little too harsh? It can cause serious weakness to the couple. My eyes fell on the man sitting in the middle. His eyes were not in the scene. It was fixed on me. It was as if he was studying my reactions. His stare made my heart beat faster and faster. I felt it impossible to breathe. "Please don’t do this," A voice rose to make me snap my head to the person in front of me. Ashley…. Her eyes were filled with tears as she looked at the earth guardians. Silence fell over the entire room. "I don’t want to be away from Caspian for even a week. All my life I have never lived for my happiness. I always worked hard for others. But now.... ever since I met him I started to feel like I have a purpose in life. I feel a hope shine through" She looked down at her lap, her hands forming into a fist. I felt so heartbroken. All her life she lived alone, trapped, and made a puppet by her family. Now she is finally free and they are trying to take it away from her. It's not fair. It's not fair at all. "Fine" a voice came as I looked up. It was King Tristan. "We will let her go. But instead, we will take another substitute" he said as everyone looked at him with wide eyes. Everyone including his own two brothers. "What are you saying Tristan" Prince Samuel asked but the king didn’t look at him. "We will let your mate go but instead of that, you need to replace it with a person who is equally important to you. Perhaps your sister" he said with a small smirk. My eyes widen at his offer. Me? "Anything else" Caspian replied coldly as the earth king shook his head. "We gave you a consideration, . I suggest you choose from them. Your mate or your sister." He said as his eyes fell on me. Once again he was looking for my reaction. "Are you out of your mind, Tristan? She is a dragon breed. You can't just bring her to our realm!" Prince Malcolm whisper shouted but the earth King glared at him. "Are you questioning the king?" he asked, his voice was strong and powerful. "No, my lord" the younger muttered as King Tristan nodded in satisfaction before turning to us. "And your decision?" Everyone was silent. I looked at Caspian. His hands tightly held his mate's hand, his whole body tense. He didn’t want to let his mate go but at the same time, he knew sending me out of his kingdom is like endangering my life. "I will go" I voiced out as everyone in the room turned their attention to me. "What? No? You know it will be too dangerous" Caspian said but I smiled at him. "Don’t worry about me, my lord. You know I am more than capable of taking care of myself. Besides, I took in the position of your majesty Ashley's protector. It is my duty" I said as he looked at me. He looked like he was having an internal battle. This is for the best. This way Caspian will stay with his mate and I can do every means to make sure my mate hates me. I can't let him enter my messed up life. As much as I hate saying this, I have to reject him. But in order for the rejection to be completed, he must accept the rejection. I am sure he won't accept it without a reason. If I show him I am not capable to be his mate then he is bound to reject me. And for that, I need to be with him. I just have to be careful so no one finds out the real me. "I can't let you go" My attention turned back to Caspian. "It's only a year" I rolled my eyes at his antics. "It’s a year unless you decide to stay there forever," King Tristan voiced as I looked at him. "Don’t worry. I won't" "I doubt that" "I don’t" "I do" I groaned in frustration while the earth king seems to be enjoying my misery. "Well now that it's settled, we will be expecting Miss Narah's arrival tomorrow," he said standing up with his two brothers. "If you miss earth you can always call, Ashley" King Tristan suddenly said turning to Ashley. He extended his card but before she could say or do anything, Caspian snatched the card and brunt it in his hands. "She needs no such thing" he growled as the latter shrugs. "Ok." "King Tristan" Caspian called as the latter paused and turned to him. "If anything happens to my sister, I will not forgive you," Caspian said. Tristan gave a small smile, his eyes momentarily laying on me. "You have my promise on that King Caspian. As long as there is air in my lungs, she will be safe"
