(Narah POV)
(One day ago)
"I am so happy for you!" I hugged Caspian as he chuckled.
"Thank you" his smile was a real genuine one.
After long years of waiting, my dear friend has finally found his mate. She was a famous human singer and to bring her to our world, he had to fake her death on earth.
Sure it has caused a lot of chaos as he had to break the contract of 'No outside magic' and expose himself to a few humans but in the end, he was able to unite with his lover.
"Narah I have a favour to ask" he voiced making me raise one of my eyebrows.
"What is it?"
"I want you to be her official protector," he said as I looked at him in shock.
"Really?"
He nodded his head giving me a small smile.
"She has been through a lot. You are one of my most trusted friends and sister. I will be at ease if you are her protector."
"Of course, your majesty" I gave him a mocking bow before grinning. "I will give my soul to protect her."
In the evening I was lucky to bump into the girl. She was sweet and considerate. We talked for some time and I even showed her my secret identity.
I really wasn’t planning to show her right on the first day though. But something about her made me do it. I felt a strong trusted bond between us.
We are going to be amazing friends.
That night we were informed of the visit of the earth guardians. They were coming to our land to discuss the consequence of Caspian's action.
We knew there will be a price to be paid for the breaking of the code of law but damn these earth creatures are quick.
I can't even imagine life being around them. They are too much of themselves. Especially the ruling kingdom. They think they are almighty people.
Snuck up and arrogant.
I put on my official uniform before casting on my magical disguise.
My almost white skin now has a little more color. The blue markings around my body vanished and my white hair and eyelashes were now blond.
I sighed putting my hand over my face. The description I said doesn't make it seem like it but I look really different from my original form.
The magic I use to maintain my disguise is a bit much tiresome but it is the only way I feel safer.
It's been 100 years.
100 years since I have been dead in the eyes of my family. 100 years since I took refuge in the kingdom of my dear friend and brother, King Caspian. During this time I trained hard and become one of their strongest warrior and general.
My life was considered pretty plain but at least it was peaceful. I always disguise myself on human form and cover up my scent but still, I put a veil over my face to be extra careful.
I would see my siblings come to the kingdom from time to time but that stopped when my snuck up sister declared Caspian her undying love for her. When he refused, saying he is waiting for her mate, she threw a tantrum and that night my siblings canceled their trade and corporation with Oregon, officially declaring us as their enemy.
Noticing the time I quickly made my way to see Ashley. Since I am her protector I will be attending the meeting with the earth guardians.
Walking into her room I met with the human girl all dressed up and ready.
"Hello, Majesty. We meet again" I smiled but her face turned that of confusion.
"I am sorry. Do I know you?" she asked as I let out a small chuckle.
"I am Narah,"
Her eyes widen in surprise.
"Narah?! But you look...You look so different." Her eyes scanned from me from top to bottom.
Yea, I know.
"This is my alter disguise. I usually change into this when we have guests from outside the palace." I said before my eyes went to Adella. She was one of the few who knows my past.
"Its... personal reasons" I shrugged before changing the topic. "You look amazing in that dress,"
"Thank you" she smiled.
"Then I will be off. You both follow suit." Adella said before turning and bowing to Ashley.
She looked a bit uncomfortable in the gesture but she still smiled.
"I will see you soon" Adella waved before her eyes glowed and she vanished then and there.
"Wow," Ashley said shocked as she stared at the red sparkle that was left behind.
"Shall we go?" I asked gaining her attention.
As we walked down the corridor, I started to give her tips that would come in handy during their meeting.
I then shifted the topic to earth wanting to fill my curiosity.
"I heard the people of earth are strict and boring. They don't feel anything. But you seem to be fun. Is that why you were an exception there?"
Caspian had told me how rough her life was on earth. The poor girl had gone through a lot of mental illness because of it.
But I was confused and shocked when she laughed at my question.
"Who told you that?" she looked at me with an amused face. "You have no idea what level of fun people have. They are very jolly and sometimes really crazy" she said making me hum.
"Well you are fun to hang out and you are an earthling as well I guess I will believe you" I smiled making her nod.
"I know you know earth more than me but earth spirits can be a bit tricky. They are very strict and very much ignorant about the word fun or love or anything." I warned as she nodded her head.
"But what if that was also a misconception?" she asked as I stopped and looked at her.
She is right. What if that is a misconception as well.
"We can never know" I shrugged before laughing. "Anyway, I would like to stay far away from them. Never planning of life involving them" I said before proceeding to walk forward.
We were so busy talking that we didn’t notice the people in front of us. We bumped straight into them and I was shocked as I felt a set of strong sparks.
"Watch where you are going!" I hissed taking a step back. I looked up but my eyes widen as I met with a pair of beautiful forest green eyes.
My heart started to beat fast and the sparks I felt tingled around my body. I could feel a strong bond towards them and I could feel our aura interlinking. For that particular moment, he was the only one I could see.
No one else.
I instantly knew why I am having this feeling.
He was also staring at me. His face was void and emotionless.
"Narah. Let's go" I felt Ashley grab hold of my hand but I couldn’t take my eyes off him. My whole body was frozen as I looked at him in fear.
"Ashley?! What are you doing here?" another familiar voice came as Abel walked out.
"General, take Ashley to the conference room. Now" he voiced out. His sound was so far away as my sole focus was on this tall man in front of me.
"General?" he called again.
"General?" someone grabbed my hand.
I jerked from the touch and turned to look at Ashley. She was looking at me in worry.
I shook my head snapping out of the trace before turning to Abel.
"Oh? Sorry Vizier. We will go now" I immediately said giving a quick bow before turning to Ashley.
"Let's go," I grabbed her hand before walking fast. I speed walked through the corridor my mind trying to process what I just felt.
This can't be happening! This is the worse!
"What happened?" she asked as we slowed down our pace.
I just stared at her for a few seconds before letting out a sigh.
"Nothing. It's nothing" I mumbled and even though she didn’t believe it, I was glad she didn’t question further.
We entered the conference room and were greeted by Caspian. But in a few minutes, the door opened and Abel walked in with the three earth guardians.
