Lily's POV
Everyone headed out shortly after my phone call with my mother. I was dreading starting today.
Myles linked me that he had the twins down in the dining hall. I made it down the stairs when my arm was pulled into the hall where the conference rooms were.
I was about to scream when I noticed it was my mother. I was honestly shocked. We didn't get off the phone that long ago, and she didn't even mention she was at the pack or headed this way.
"What are you doing here?"
She looked like she was trying to think of an answer. "Uh, to see you, of course."
For the first time in my life, I could actually tell my mother was lying straight to my face. "No, you didn't. You came to check if Landyn and Maureen were here."
"I was almost here by the time you answered the phone."
