Chapter 4: What Happened?

I feel like I am floating on a cloud. It is so soft and warm! I never want to wake up.
Angel: Lol good morning sleepy head. You need to get up."
Abril: If I have too, but if this is death, I will take it."
I open my eyes and have to squint because it is so bright. My eyes are having a hard time adjusting to the light. I start to sit up and fall back on the cloud.
I sigh and look around me, I see King Jax laying next to me. I scream!
King Jax: Just a few more minutes, I'm comfy!" He mummbles.
I don't know why but I giggle at his response. He looks up at me and smiles. He is so handsome, I could stare at him all day long!
King Jax: Are you done staring? I assume you have some questions..."
Well he isn't wrong, but I decided to look around some more. I start to panic because I'm in a room on a real bed. So many thoughts fly through my head! How did I get here? Why am I in a room with the King? Who is cooking breakfast?
King Jax: Little one, you need to breathe and I will explain. I'm so sorry I scared you, but I am trying to make sure you are healthy."
I take a deep breath. Well, more like 5. When I am ready I look up at the King.
King Jax: I do have some questions for you, but let me start first. I was following you to make sure nothing bad happened to you. I was hoping to learn more about you this way until you felt like you could talk to me more openly. I planned on staying out of site until I realized you were in danger at the lake."
Abril: I remember that my King. Trev was there....but that was you really? I thought someone was following me, but I never saw anyone and thought I was going crazy."
King Jax: Little one, I am your mate. I want you to be by my side forever and to help me rule our people. You are my better half and I am so very sorry that I was not there to protect you when you needed it most. I will have your things moved into this room and I will sleep on the floor if that is what it will take. I am never going to reject you."
Abril: Do you really mean that? What happens if you change your mind later?
Angel: He wont, he wants us. I told you so."
King Jax: That will never happen. I need you to be safe, but I have business here that needs my attention. I will go to war for you and punish everyone who has harmed you. If I am not by your side I will have my Beta with you. Let me introduce you too."
A tall man that is wider than the door frame steps inside. He has short red hair and green eyes with some freckles. He reminds me of a little boy, just so cute!
Abril: Hello......ummmmm....My name is Abirl. Its nice to meet you."
Beta: Luna! I am most honored! But it is my pleasure to finally meet you! My name is Derek."
I giggle. I look back to the King, he is smiling again. I love it. He has little dimples.
King Jax: Sit down Derek, we have more to go over and I am sure you have some questions for our Luna as well."
He grabs a chair from the desk and sits in front of us.
King Jax: Where was I?...Oh! The lake! I was pissed when he picked up that rock and screamed hoping to get Alpha Trev's attention. It sorta worked. He threw the rock at your face and it hit you, and you passed out. I ran to you so you wouldn't drown, but it took me a while to get you out. You are very light and the water was so deep and the currents kept trying to steal you from me. I got you out though and brought you here to rest and waited by your side until you woke up."
My eyes went wide. He really did all of that for me?
Derek: He really did Luna, I was...uhhh...there.......He did save you."
