Chapter 6: First Kiss

I was still shocked when he pulled apart. Wow, that was my first kiss! It just happened! I felt as if there butterflies in my stomach and when he did that. Everything just went slow and all I could think of was his sweet and soft lips. Oh dear, what just happened?

“I take that as you accepting me as your mate,” He declared and I was still floating in emotions to the point that realizing what he said was difficult to do. How can he do that the way he did? There was some electrifying feeling and I didn’t know if he felt that too.

“What? I mean, I-I didn’t say that I was rejecting you,” I said but I couldn’t look at him in the eyes. I was overwhelmed and his mere presence was just too much for me to handle.

“But you were giving reasons why you couldn’t come with me to my pack,” He pointed that out and I shook my head. It wasn’t really like that.

“It’s not like that... it’s just that, I want to take my time here and say goodbye to my Uncle. That’s all,” I said as a matter of fact. “And I need to collect my things too, id you don’t mind,”

I heard him sigh. “And you don’t want me to stay and wait for you?” I nodded. I know he has other things to do as the alpha of his pack and I didn’t want him to forget about that. “Alright, I am giving you tonight to do that and I’ll come and pick you up first thing tomorrow. Will that be okay?” He was even hesitant while saying that.

One night? That’s all he could spare? Well, that’s even better than nothing. I can pick up my things and talk to my Uncle.

I sighed and nodded. There’s nothing I can do. I was even grateful that he gave me that time. Others would really force their way and take their mate the moment they find them. I guess he felt and heard how desperate I was.

“I’ll be here tomorrow and I want you ready by then, will that be fine?” He said and I nodded. His voice was full of authority. I wasn’t saying that I’m afraid of him; I just think that as an alpha that’s what he’s used to; getting his voice heard and his orders followed.

“Will you explain to me what the hell is going on and what you are doing to my niece?” We heard Uncle’s voice from behind us along with some whispers from the pack members who followed us through here.

I saw how people were shocked with how Uncle addressed my mate; the ruthless alpha everyone know of.

“Your niece is my mate,” He confidently said. Well, I knew everyone heard about it earlier they were just making sure that it wasn’t a prank or something. I knew they were making fun of me deep inside. Will they also be making fun of him for having me as a mate? I bet they would but they wouldn’t even dare say it.

“And are you taking her with you already,?” Uncle said. I sensed sadness in his voice and that made me feel bad too. I literally grew up with him and his family and I knew he would miss me once I’m gone. Although I can’t say the same to his family who never treated me well.

“As much as I would love to, but she wants to stay and do some things before she goes and live with me,” He said that with utmost confidence.

“That’s good to hear,” I knew my Uncle wanted to hear that and I was glad that I heard a sense of relief on his voice.

“As much as I would love to stay and wait for you or take you home with me, I won’t do that just yet. I want to give you time to say goodbye to your family before I take you away from them. I will be back tomorrow and I won’t accept any more reasons why you wouldn’t and couldn’t come with me. I’ll be there first thing in the morning,” He said that and in one swift move, kissed me deeply on the lips. It was different from the first one earlier. It was filled with different emotions and the kiss was more intense. I can feel how hot it was and the fact that there were people around made me stop kissing him back.

“I’ll come and get you tomorrow, that’s a promise,” He said before he raised his hand and his men came forward. He gave me one last glance before he stormed off along with his men who were just waiting for his orders.

I didn’t know that I was holding my breathe the entire time that I was with him. I only breathed out and breathed normally when he was out of my sight. I turned around and saw sour faces of some of the pack members that were looking my way. I knew I would face their judgment and their foul words.

I bowed down and walked out of there. I don’t want to hear any of what they wanted to say that would just hurt my feelings. As much as possible, I want nothing but to have some peace of mind when I leave the pack.

I didn’t know that my Uncle was trailing behind me. I only found out when he called my name.

“You walk so fast,” He joked. I knew he could catch up with me anytime if he wanted to. He has that werewolf ability that I do not have unfortunately.

“Uncle,” I faced him. “Is this for real?”

Until now, I still couldn’t fully grasp the fact that I already found my mate. I mean, everything happened too fast! I wouldn’t eveb think that it was that night already. I was just there to hand him his glasses and who would have thought that this would be the last night that I would stay in this pack? That’s next to impossible! And the fact that my mate is an alpha, how surprising is that?!

If anyone told me earlier that I would be meeting my mate this very night, I would surely laugh at him. I would never believe that.

“You’re time has come to leave this pack.” He said as he pat my head. “I would surely miss you here. We would, for sure.”

I almost scoffed at that but I tried so hard not to. Uncle doesn’t know about it yet and I didn’t want him to know either. It’s better that way so they won’t fight when I’m gone.

“Your parents would have been so proud to find out that you’re mated to an alpha. I’m sure you’ll be in good hands. I can see that he has accepted you as his mate.” He commented. He actually did which was surprising because I am a nobody and he’s an alpha. He should be mated to someone with a powerful bloodline and not me who couldn’t even shift into a wolf.

“Do you really think so? Would they be proud if me if I leave you for my mate?” My voice was laced with sadness. If I had a choice, I wanted my mate to be from someone in this pack so I wouldn’t have to leave home. But who am I kidding? No one wants me here. No one even wants to be friends with me. Why was I thinking that anyone from here wants to be mated to me? They would surely reject me the minute they find out about it.

“That’s your destiny and you shouldn’t let anyone keep you from it.” Uncle said as she held my hand. “You have always been special to me and you know that. You are now destined for something great and I couldn’t be prouder.” He said and those words hit me so hard that my tears feel down my cheeks. I am just so thankful for him and for everything that he did and taught me. He will always have a special place in my heart too no matter what and no matter where I would be because that’s what he deserves.

“Thank you, Uncle. Thank you for everything,” I said and hugged her.

“Easy,” He said when I cried harder and hugged him so tight.

I laughed when we almost fell down because I was crying so hard while hugging him.

“I’m not dying, you know,” He joked after a while when I calmed down and I pouted. I would never even imagine him dying because that hurts even more.

He put his arms around my shoulders and lead us home.
