Saskia’s POV
This was all so weird for me. I had no idea who these people were and what they wanted.
Lennie would not stop staring at me and I couldn’t help but feel my lips burn from the way he had kissed me earlier on at the school. I wanted to feel his arms wrapped around my body and I felt awful for feeling this way since Anaya was now throwing daggers my way.
Then there was this girl.
She looked exactly the same as me.
We had to be sisters.
It was just strange!
They were all going inside the building and Anaya grabbed my hand and forced me to follow.
I didn’t even bother to resist since these people seemed the sort that you would not want to upset.
“Get off her.” The girl who looked just like me suddenly stepped on front of us and yanked me away from Anaya.
I heard Lennie growl which made me let out a frightened gasp.
His eyes snapped to me and look of remorse filled his face. I had no idea what this was all about.
Anaya was not pleased about that but huffed and walked on leaving me standing with the girl.
“We are sisters. You are Saskia and I am Sadie. This is the packhouse. We are all werewolves here and you are obviously onblivious to what that means but it’s the truth. Sooner you know it, the better.” Sadie said to me quite bluntly. I blinked a few times trying to make sense of the rubbish that she was spouting.
Werewolves?
This place must be some weird cult place. They were all lunatics and I wanted to turn around and go home but something was stopping me from moving and I felt a lump in my throat.
“Leave her alone, Sadie. You are scaring her.” Lennie came up to us and warned her with a strict tone.
Sadie glared at him then laughed, slapping her thigh, she shook her head and pulled me closer to her.
“She is my sister and you won’t tell me what to do. Mind your own business.” I was shocked by her mannerism towards Lennie and he looked furious with her.
His eyes flashed a dark black and my hand flew to my mouth, shocked.
“What is happening to him?“ I screamed and burst into tears as these huge canines seemed to appear out of his gums.
Sadie rolled her eyes and chuckled.
Why was she not freaking out as well?
Was this some joke?
Prank?
“Lennie, back down now. Immediately.” His father boomed from down the long corridor. I hid behind my sister and used her as a shield. She seemed like she would take no s**t from anyone.
“Saskia, I am sorry. Please listen.” Lennie returned to his normal self and sighed apologetic. I did not know what to do or think.
“How can that be possible?” I stuttered, my voice all shaky as I clung to Sadie’s arm like my whole life depended on it.
Lennie father turned to me and his face seemed to soften.
“Girls, please follow Anaya that way.” He instructed and we did as we were told. Turning to look over my shoulder, I saw that he and Lennie were in a deep conversation.
“Don’t let them hurt me.” I whispered to Anaya when I finally caught up with her. She frowned then smirked, pushing me into the huge room which had glass windows and a massive rectangle table with comfy looking leather chairs.
“Please, take a seat.” Lennie’s mother gestured to me and I smiled politely as I sat down at the far end.
When everyone was finally in the room and seated, the door burst open and a man and woman came bounding in looking full of concern.
“Aw look my parents are here.” Sadie said sarcastically. Her mother looked to her then did a double take when she spotted me. Her father shook his head in astonishment.
“Hello, Alpha, Luna.” They both said in unison and bowed. I thought that was abit weird and over the top for greeting someone.
They must be seen as royalty or something but to me they were just normal people.
“Come on in. We can start this discussion now.” Lennie’s father stood up and nodded. He seemed to be the head of this place.
“She’s my sister and Lennie is her mate.” Sadie announced smugly.
Anaya screamed loudly at that statement and I wanted to shrink further into my chair.
Lennie was staring at me again.
“I think you have some explaining to do.” Lennie’s parents looked at Sadie’s parents expectantly.
“I can’t do this.” Sadie’s mother stated to cry and almost hyperventilate. I scraped the chair back and went to her, rubbing her back and handing her a glass of water. She looked taken aback by my kindness and offered me a grateful smile.
“I don’t know what you people are about, why I am here or why you think it’s ok to talk down to these people like they are nothing.” I stood tall and said my piece. It was not nice to sit and watch this poor lady cry her head out lol she were on trial in a court of law or something. This whole situation was weird as hell but I had a heart and did not like to see this poor lady cry. Nobody else seemed to fussed but now all eyes were on me. The room was so quiet that you could literally hear a pin drop to the squeaky clean floor.
Lennie growled but I ignored him, he might be gorgeous and an amazing kisser but he had no right to make anyone feel rubbish like that. It was uncalled for and unkind. I did not like it.
“Do you know who these people are, what they are?” Lennie slammed his fist onto the table causing me to jump in surprise.
Sadie lunged towards him but her father grabbed her and pulled her back from his reach.
“This is not the right time.” He whispered to his daughter but I heard him loud and clear.
My hearing was so strong I could not understand why but it was as if I could hear everything more clearer.
“What do you mean by that then?” Lennie’s father demanded to know and everyone bowed at him in response.
Except me.
“She’s his mate, they need to know the truth.” Sadie’s mother sighed and wiped at her teary eyes. I went back to my seat and propped my elbows on the table, resting my head in my hands and remaining silent as they all talked at once.
“If these girls are sisters then that means you have one of them up or they are not yours biologically.” Lennie’s mother pointed at them accusingly. A look of disgust flashed across her pretty face. She seemed nice enough but I think that she definitely had a side to her that you would not want to mess with.
“Ok, fine. The truth is, Sadie is not our daughter.”
The room was echoed with gasps.
“Then who are the real parents?” Lennie’s mother demanded to know angrily but that question went unanswered because a horrible ear piercing shrill of an alarm, filled the room.
