Aaron’s POV
My conversation with the Alpha ended quite abruptly and faster than I expected. However, it wasn’t a good thing since he had given me an ultimatum that was impossible to make. On one side, I had my pack and my destiny as a wolf where my life was already in order, and on the other was Mia, my fated mate, who was in a complicated situation.
“Why would the Alpha say such a thing? This is unfair!” Shadow howled sadly within me.
His sadness reverberated through me, making me troubled. I desperately wanted to get back to Mia, but I knew I couldn’t face her when I was this distressed. So, instead of meeting my family or catching up with the pack members, I shifted into Shadow and let him run through the forest to our favorite lake that was hidden in the middle of the forest.
