Aaron’s POV
Alpha Ryan’s words ran through my body like thunder as I tried to figure out if he truly didn’t know that Mia was my client and mate, or if he was trying to deceive me again. My eyes scanned his face as he looked at me in absolute disbelief, a look that seemed genuine.
“Tell me, Beta! Is Mia Prentiss, the client that you are here to protect, your human mate?” the Alpha asked me again as his body stiffened.
Nodding my head, I narrowed my eyes at him. “Yes, but you already knew that, didn’t you? So, why are you asking me as if you’re hearing it for the first time?”
