They walked together to her mom’s room, where Sophie’s mom, Margaret, was propped up on pillows, reading a book. Her eyes lit up when she saw her sister. "Marie! You have arrived, welcome. Oh, it’s so wonderful to see you," Margaret said, her voice filled with emotion. Marie rushed to her side and Margaret rose up gently as they enveloped each other in a gentle hug. "Margaret, I’ve missed you so much. How are you feeling?" Margaret smiled weakly. "Better now that you’re here. It’s been tough, but Sophie’s been taking such good care of me." Marie glanced back at Sophie, her eyes filled with pride. "I’m not surprised. Sophie has always been strong and dependable. We’re going to get you back on your feet in no time, Margaret."
