Over the next few days, Sophie began to settle into a new routine. She balanced her time between her work, taking care of her mother, and spending time with Lisa. It wasn’t easy, but the joy of seeing her mother’s health improving everyday made it all worthwhile. Sophie rearranged her old bedroom to make space for her study materials and set up a small desk near the window. It was a simple room, with soft blue walls, a twin bed with a quilt her mother had made, and a bookshelf filled with her favorite novels. One evening, as Sophie was preparing dinner, her mother came into the kitchen. "What are you cooking, sweetie?" Sophie turned and smiled. "Just some chicken soup.
