After taking a fortifying breath, she stepped up and rapped her knuckles on the heavy red cedar. She’d only waited a few moments before she heard the sound of someone approaching and the door was pulled open to reveal a 6ft 5inches tall bulky blonde headed male. His sky blue eyes perused Serena’s body slowly – spending an inordinate amount of time on her boobs before his lips tilted into a grin.
“How can I help you sweetheart?” he drawled.
Serena cleared her throat. “I have an appointment with Alpha Aiden.”
He nodded slowly. “Yeah, the alpha mentioned he had a new wolf dropping by. Are you interviewing to join the pack?”
“Ah. Yeah.”
His eyes raked Serena up and down as his smile got wider. “Well, isn’t this my lucky day? Come on in.”
He opened the door wider and stepped aside for Serena to enter.
The interior was more impressive than the exterior and that was saying a lot.
Grand – that was what she would use to describe it. From all indications, it would appear that money wasn’t a problem for this pack. Their wealth was evident in everything around Serena.
But somehow while everything around her was expensive-looking, it still gave her a homey feeling about it at the same time. She was used to the inside of the alpha’s house being extravagant and flashy, like a showpiece but this one wasn’t. She wondered what that said about the man who owned it.
“Come on. I’ll take you to the alpha. I’m Alistair, by the way.”
He waved for Serena to follow and so she fell in line behind him.
His back muscles kept flexing and it seemed like he was trying to impress Serena with his physique, but she was not paying attention as she had more important things to concentrate on.
