BROKEN EPISODE TWENTY

Leo was trying to be of help but his way of helping was screwing everything up. His idea of helping was keeping me out of harms way but it ended up with us running for our lives. What if we never actually made it out of the club, what if the bouncers got to us and boxed us real good.

Leo: what's going on in that head of yours?

He asked pulling over by the side of the road after we were quite far from the club. I didn't even get to have my drink when the fight broke and what was that guy thinking coming at us like that?

Me: why did you stop the car?

He just stared at me but didn't respond.

Me: what exactly is your problem, why can't you let me handle things my way?

Leo: and what is your way, dragging a man to the washroom then stubbing him, do you know how bad things could get in there,... you could die Benta.

Me: and what's the point of living huh, do you know how it feels like to be lied to by the people you trust the most in your life, Do you?

Leo: you are giving them the power over you, they sent you spiraling and you are not thinking straight Benta, your actions could land you in jail or dead and when that happens, you will never see Ethan again.

Leo was right, maybe he was I don't know but I was not done. Not with the guy who shot at us and not with his mother. She was going to give me the names and the location of the two guys who r***d me. I was not going to argue with Leo because he was always right..

He started the car and while we were driving away he got a call from someone I didn't know and they were talking business..

Leo: when do you expect me to link you up, I have no intentions of travelling at the moment.

Of cause I could not hear who was on the other end but I knew it was a deal when Leo said he would do a negotiation for whoever he was taking to then pick the guys at airport and check them into a hotel. That was going to be enough time for me to find his mother. I liked Leo alot and I hated the fact that his mother was a witch but I had to carry on with my plan. Was it going to undo the r**e and everything she did to me, no. But it was going to give me the satisfaction that she was not going to be there to do that to me again. I was not going to leave a scar on her like she left in me. I was going to kill her.

A few more minutes and we were home. Home was now Ndegwa's house and speaking of Ndegwa, I never got to hear of anything from him again, I know he was shot but there was no report of him bring dead and I knew nothing of his whereabouts yet I was living in his house. What if the police came looking for him or what if he had actually died and got dumped somewhere, I would be the one that would get arrested for God knows what..

Me: I don't want to stay here.

I said walking into the room that had been mine and I collected the few things I had in there.

Leo: why not?

I explained my reasons and he understood, that's one thing I loved about Leo.

Leo: I don't think Ndegwa is dead too. I think we should hold a search party for him.

Me: and where exactly do we look?

Leo: the hospitals within, the city mortuary just everywhere.. I will get the posters ready...so, where do you want to go?...

Me: to my house. I don't want to stay here anymore.

Leo: fine, let me drop you off tomorrow...

We agreed that the following day first thing was to land in my house. I wanted to enjoy the comfort of that house as I found it a buyer and yeah, that was part of my plan. I had intentions of selling that house so that when those two fools came back, they would have no where to set foot..

I went to the kitchen to prepare us something before we went to bed and while at it, I heard glass break in the living room and then there was something like an explosion with leo shouting my name. I quickly rushed into the living room and there was another loud bang.

Me: damn it!

I shouted when I got to the living room. The house was on fire and as I was still wondering what was going on because of the screeching sound of the vehicle outside, Leo rushed to the bedroom, got a blanket, covered me and led me out because the petrol bombs that had been thrown inside the house fell on the seat and before I knew it there was smoke everywhere because of the matress.

Leo: I have to get the keys to the car

Me: no. You can't go back inside.

Leo: I have to get the keys Benta, how do you expect us to get out of here?

I had a bad feeling about Leo going back inside because I felt like that was death calling him. The gas was still on and the house was now properly on fire..

He tried to go but I grabbed his arm and pulled him back.

Me: I won't let you go back in there. It's dangerous. We can take a cab or walk. Whatever works..

He was not excited but he agreed to take a cab and we left the compound but before we could get to the gate, there was a huge explosion that threw us off balance and we landed down.

Leo: are you okay?..

He asked getting up and rushing to where I was. He helped me up and despite the pain in my stomach because I fell on my stomach, I was okay. He led me out of the gate and we got a taxi to my place.

Me: who could have done that?

Leo: I have no idea. We have been brushing shoulders with the wrong people lately. It could be anyone. Benta, I don't think you will be safe in your house either. I think someone wants you dead and since they burnt down Ndegwa's house, I think it's pretty predictable where they will go next.

Leo had a point so we decided that I pick some of my clothes that were left in my house before we went to his.

Elsewhere

Melvin gave (scar) the guy whom had shot at Leo and Benta at the club a call from wherever him and Jade were. Apparently he is the one who sent him to bomb the place with both Benta and Leo in it because he knew that Leo was connected and was going to help Benta whatever way he could to hunt him down. According to Melvin, Leo was the black sheep in the house and the fact that Benta and Leo had connected so much bothered him and he was jealous of their relationship. He knew for a fact that Leo was in love with Benta, it was in the way he looked at her, the way he talked to her, the way he was there for her, the way he protected her, not even Melvin got to do all that for her despite him being her husband but the fact that he was a fake husband explained it all.

Melvin: you bombed the place, did you make sure they were inside?

Scar: yes. I had camped out of the house waiting for them. They did not see me.

Melvin: good.

Scar: did you settle down already?

Melvin: not yet, it's talking a while but eventually we will. Listen, I need full report on whether or not the fire killed them. It's only if they are dead that my wife, son and I can set foot back there.

Scar: I understand sir. I will keep you posted.

Melvin hanged up and Jade walked up to him and started massaging his shoulders.

Jade: you need to relax..

Melvin: I know that but how do I relax when everything back at home is...

Jade: shhhh!

She said going round him and sliding her finger down his lips..

Jade: forget about home Melvin, there's is nothing there for you. Everything you want is right here, me, your son... Doesn't that complete you?

Melvin: it does but do you think we will have peace as long as Benta is still alive?

Jade: well let's hope she died in that fire.

One hour later

Lorna saw the news about one of Ndegwa's property being on fire and when she learned that it was the house where Benta lived, she smiled and walked into Ndegwa's room with a smile on her face and Ndegwa had been helplessly lying there. Lorna had moved from the hotel and had rented an apartment where she held Ndegwa hostage. Ndegwa's wound was healing but slowly and though he was still weak, he was fighting to get out of that bed.

Lorna: you should watch the news darling..

She switched on the TV in that room and Ndegwa's eyes shifted to the television and when he saw his house burn down, he attempted to get up but Lorna pushed her back..

Lorna: relax darling. I know that house hold so many memories of you and that w***e who attempted to take my place but mh! It's a good thing it's burnt to ashes.

Ndegwa: where is Benta?

Lorna: Dead!... Benta is dead. It's a shame you never get to ask about your son. That orphan is not even your daughter and you are all over her, wait... Did you sleep with her too?

Ndegwa attempted to get out of the bed but he couldn't. Lorna had chained his hand to the bed though if only Ndegwa got a chance to grab her, she would be dead.

Lorna: you are in such a bad mood geez! I thought I could keep you company but well, let me go and mind my own business.

She shrugged her shoulder and walked out and Ndegwa, he had tears coming out of his eyes..

I picked the clothes and we went to Leo's house. Leo's house was big, four bedrooms, an open kitchen and tv room and one could even tell. His house was way bigger than mine and it had alot of space and it's not like I was seeing the house for the first time but everytime I visited, it felt like I was visiting for the first time.

Leo: feel at home Benta, you can take any bedroom you want. There's alot of food in the kitchen, you can have what you prefer. There are drinks too, from whiskey.. coffee, milk..

Me: thanks Leo, it not my first time here.

He smiled and I did too.

Leo: I know that, I just want you to feel comfortable enough.

Me: I am comfortable.

He stared at me for a while then I looked away but he turned my face to maintain the gaze..

Leo: I'm happy you are here with me, I don't know what I would have done had I not been there with you then you ended up dying in that fire.

The concerned look in his face gave me butterflies and now whatever I was hiding inside, I couldn't hide anymore. I wanted to kiss him because the fact that he was standing too close was already suffocating me but I had to hold myself from doing that because I didn't want to do anything with him then he ends up hating me after I kill his mother because that, that was my end goal.

Leo: can I hug you atleast?

When he asked that, he already had his hands on my waist so I dropped my bag and hugged him. He pushed my head to his chest and his grip tightened around my waist then he took a deep breath..

Leo: I don't want to loose you..

Me: yeah, me too.

We broke free from the hug and he smiled. I think he was trying hard to stay away from his brothers girl but it was so hard.

Leo: choose your room, take a shower and I will prepare us something..

I nodded then picked my bag and started walking away but stopped halfway dropped my bag and walked back to him and kissed him so passionately that he lifted me to his waist and pressed me to the wall with vigorous kisses as I unbuttoned his shirt and caressed his sexy chest. It seemed like we both had been waiting for this moment and we were too horny to get to the bed so he carried me to the couch and lay me on it. I helped him undress as he took off my blouse and kissed my breast and found his way in between my legs. The kisses were hot on my lips and if you asked me, I would kiss Leo alot more that I would kiss Melvin. Melvin didn't know how to get me in the mood, to him it was a few kisses then when he was hard enough, he did his thing and when he was done he would fall asleep on top of me and I would have to roll him off me. I loved my husband but just a few times I would feel like he was really making love to me and now I know why. Maybe he would sleep with Jade wherever they would be then when he came home he would give me the left overs..

Leo was just what I needed especially after the long crazy night. He was gentle with me and he knew exactly how to make me feel like a woman..

Leo: hey..

I looked at him on top of me..

Leo: I'm trying to bring your mind back here..

I smiled and he sealed the smile with a kiss and he made love to me just the way I had expected him too then when we were done moaning and having the best s*x ever, he let me lie on top of him with his arm gently wrapped around me. Clearly, I had chosen the wrong brother..

Leo: I love you Benta, I always have.

Me: I'm not surprised. I could tell.

Leo laughed.

Leo: was it that obvious?

Me: maybe not but I could tell. I saw the confusion on your face the day your brother introduced me to you.

Leo: I fell in love instantly and again I was wondering why he would introduce you as his girlfriend yet he had a thing going with Jade.

Me: why didn't you tell me though?

Leo: it wasn't in my place to. Do you know how it would have looked if I told you about it then I end up pursuing you?

Me: I get your point. Jade and Melvin hurt me so bad I don't know how to come off it. I don't know how to "unknow " them and I don't know how to pretend that it doesn't hurt.

He hugged me even tighter and kissed my forehead.

Leo: I understand your pain Benta but you have to rise above that fall. I'm here for you, I will help you through it but please don't push me away.

I raised my face to look at him and our eyes met then we started kissing again and no one got up to go look for food or sleep in their beds..

The following morning I woke up to the sound of some cool music with a blanket over me and Leo was fighting with utensils in the kitchen. Was he that hungry?

I got up and wore his shirt that was on the arm of the couch and slowly walked into the kitchen. He was toasting some Bread and when he saw me he smiled..

Me: what's funny..the shirt?

Leo: no. The shirt looks good on you but do I get a good morning kiss or we haven't gotten there yet.

I smiled and I don't know why I was a bit embarrassed especially after having s*x with him.

Leo: aaah yeah... We have not gotten there yet. You slept well?

Me: on your chest, yes I did..

Leo: breakfast is almost ready so you can take a shower and we meet at the dining table.

Me: okay... Thanks.

I didn't have to pick a room because he had already put my stuff in the main bedroom so I took my time in the shower and when I got dressed and met him down stairs he was ready too. He showered in one of the other rooms.

Leo: you look beautiful.

Me: I don't even have make on. Stop flirting with me.

Leo: you think beauty is make up, not all men are after those I mean you are attractive just the way you are, the make up...it's just a plus.

Me: thank you very much for the compliment now we can get to breakfast shall we?..

I smiled as I served two sausages in my plate. I preffered that to bread.

Me: so what's your plan?

Leo: I need to pick some clients up, negotiate a business deal with them then check them into a hotel.

Me: okay..

Leo: you will be okay on your own right?

Me: yeah.. I will sit here and watch TV until you get back.

Leo: good girl...

We had breakfast but Leo didn't really think I was going to stay home did he?..

He left, the house half an hour later and like twenty minutes after that, I texted Mathew.. yes, Alice's husband..

Mathew: I have a few minutes, where do we meet?.

Me: there is a restaurant by the road just a few metres off from my house. Let's meet there in twenty.

Mathew: okay..

Me: and please, let's keep it between us..

Mathew: deal...

I didn't have a gun and I don't think Leo left the one he had either, he always walked around with that gun and I'm not sure what business he had but I was sure that by the time he got home. I would be home too.

Larry had been ordered to set up Leo with the drug dealers so that he could get arrested with the cocaine then Benta would be on her own so that they could easily get rid of her. That was after learning that they didn't really die in that fire. Larry asked Mathew to hire a hit man to take care of some business he didn't mention to him just in case the plan failed, the man was meant to finish off Leo without Lorna knowing. Lorna's plan was to get Leo arrested, kill Benta then post a bail for his son.

Scar was already at the hotel where Leo was to check in the clients and he was at a different rooftop with a snipper riffle that was so accurate. If scar killed Leo, that would benefit Melvin too and he was there wondering why Leo had not died in the fire..

Scar: well Mr nine lives, I don't miss twice...

He said getting himself ready to shoot.

I met up with Mathew and I explained to him everything that was going on in details. He had no idea what was happening and when he heard my story, he was convinced..

Me: the reason why Leo cannot know what I'm doing is because he showed up last time and screwed everything up.. I have to do this alone. I want my son back Matthew.

Mathew: I get it... where is your phone?

Me: I lost it when I got kidnapped. But I have Melvin's phone.

Mathew: that's okay.. it will work. I fixed a chip that will give you the location of the guy you are looking for. His name is scar and he has been in communication with Melvin. I have been following their conversation and you are right, your life is in danger because even Melvin wants you dead. The house was set on fire by scar on Melvin's orders.

Me: okay...where do I find this scar?

Matthew: at a hotel.. Red apple hotel.. I'm not sure what he is doing there but he has been there for a while.

Me: Red Apple hotel, oh my God!

Mathew: what?

Me: he is after Leo... Leo was to check in there later... I have to get there before Leo dies...

I quickly got up..then remembered I didn't have a weapon.

Me: (whispering) do you have a gun?

Mathew: in my car..come on let's go.. I will drive you...
