BROKEN EPISODE SEVENTEEN

Leo looked everywhere he thought Benta could be but he did not find her so he went back home where he had left Melvin. Melvin did not make an effort looking for Benta and he was only worried about what would happen when the baby woke up. It was just a bit funny that he had he strength to fight leo but not to look for his wife even after he heard she had been kidnapped..

Leo walked in, dropped his gun on the table and lay back on the couch trying to to think... where else he had not looked?

Melvin came by and took a seat a bit far from Leo who sat up and they came face to face.

Melvin: so where is she?

Leo: why are you asking me that like I knew where she was and I was just going to pick her up?

That conversation was interrupted by a call from Larry whom he had been calling the entire time but wasn't available.

Leo: Larry...

Lenny: hey..

He got up and walked out of the room talking on his phone..

Melvin got his phone too and made a call. He seemed like he had some hidden agenda and knowing Leo was somewhere in the house,he was whispering the entire time. Who was he really talking to and what was he saying that he didn't want Leo to hear.

Jade was to go to the court the following day and if she was found guilty, she was going to go to prison for murder. That night, she was given a chance to call a lawyer who would take on her case and represent her in court. She was worried about her finger prints being on the gun because the truth is, she had not gotten time to wipe the prints to get her off that hook.

Benta wasn't as stupid as everyone had assumed she was and Jade being all learned and stuff, she could not pull herself from Benta's trap. She like any other person despite her influence ended up sleeping in the police cells and peeing in a bucket like anyone else.

The officer who had brought Jade out of the cell to make a call had other plans. He was not going to lock up jade again but let her go because Melvin had coordinated everything and he had plans of running away with her just like they had planned before but why was he telling Benta one thing and doing the other?..

When Leo was done on phone, he came back into the living room and joined Melvin in the pertaking of his whiskey and none of them spoke a word to the other until Leo took the last sip and dropped the glass on the table.

Leo: I'm going home.

Melvin: you know you can stay. I promise we will not fight again.

Leo: I called someone to help me look for Benta, he knows someone who can track the kidnappers.

Melvin nodded then drunk his whiskey looking at Leo through the glass..

Melvin: tell me something though, just between us now that Benta is not here.

Leo: what?

Melvin: are you in love with her?

Leo: you are asking me if I'm in love with your wife?

Melvin: you didn't think twice about going to her blabbing stuff I had asked you to keep a secret.

Leo: you are going to blame me for that, you screwed her best friend, not once but over and over again then you even went ahead and planned a vacation with her where Benta is the one who helped the b***h shop.. how do I come in?

Melvin: she told you that?

Leo: she tells me every damn thing. You married her and kept her in the house like some piece of furniture. Many are the times she needed someone to talk to but where the hell were you?.... Why am I even having this conversation with you?..

He pushed him out of his way but before he could get out, someone kicked the door and shot on the ceiling sending Leo diving to the ground. Three gun men walked in and roughed up Leo and started searching the house. One had his leg on top of Leo's head the entire time as the other two ransacked the house.

Guy1: get down before I blow your head to the ceiling.

Melvin did as he had been asked.

The other guy went inside the rooms and found Ethan. He was awake and playing by himself. The guy carried him and went with him to the living room looking around.

Guy1: anyone else here?

Melvin: no.. just us.

Guy2: get up!

He said grabbing Melvin and pulling him from the floor and Melvin obeyed.

Leo tried to lift his head but the guy stepped on it again.

Guy1: move it!

He shouted at Melvin pushing him out of the house and Melvin walked out hurriedly then the other guy hit leo and rushed out after the others and jumped into the van that drove off with both the baby and Melvin.

The guys did not steal or destroy anything in the house and when Leo got up, they were gone...

Melvin: you guys did good back there,you think he sensed something?..

Guy1: no. We had to harass you a little bit so that it could look real.

Melvin: good, we are picking someone else up, Iet me call her..

He tried reaching for his phone but it was not in his pocket. He tapped himself everywhere then buried his head in his hands..

Melvin: damn it... I don't have my phone.

Guy 1: what?

Melvin: I must have dropped it somewhere..

Guy2: s**t!

Melvin: that's not a problem. I know where they will be. Let's pick her up real quick before anyone finds the phone and catches up with us.

They drove to where the officer said he would drop Jade and when they got there, the police car was waiting. Melvin got out of the car and walked towards the police car and the door opened then Jade stepped out.

Officer: you kept me waiting.

Melvin: stuff happened. Thanks for doing this.

Officer: hopefully I don't loose my job.

Melvin: no one will be able to trace us. Thank you.

Melvin and Jade got in the van and the guys drove off...

Jade: you did it... You brought our son!

Jade said all excited. She hugged Melvin but he pushed her back because of the smell on her.

Jade: it it that bad?.

Melvin: Mhh hu!

Jade sat back but could not hide the excitement on her face.

Jade: thank God I left that he'll hole. Wait, how did you even manage to get Ethan from that psycho?.

Melvin: I didn't. I think she went pissing someone off then they got her kidnapped.

Jade: and her body guard?

Melvin: I don't think he is even good at his job. She got kidnapped right under his nose..

Jade: huh!

Melvin: I think he is in love with her...

The guys drove them to the airport and after handing Melvin a bag he had packed previously and had someone pick up, they went to the waiting area waited in the car as Jade went to the washroom to wash her face and armpits to at least reduce the bad ordour coming from her. Then she changed into a different attire and joined Melvin and Ethan at the waiting area. Their plane was leaving in an hour and they had checked in 30 minutes earlier..

Leo looked around the compound but there was no one around, he was terrified especially after the things that had happened that day. Who were those guys and where did they take Melvin.

Leo called his mother to tell him what had happened and when he was done, he called Larry again and asked him if he could trace Melvin. While Larry was on that, Leo called Melvin's number but to his surprise, it rang on the flower bed. He walked towards the flower bed and picked the phone and stopped calling it then called Larry again.

Leo: dude, there's no need. I found his phone here.

Larry: so there is no way to reach him?

Leo: no. I didn't even get the number plate to the car. When I got out, the car had driven off.

Larry: man, your family needs divine intervention.

Leo: you can say that again... Look i will see you tomorrow. Mathew said he is working on the other case.

Larry: wait you said the woman was kidnapped where again?

Leo: at the entrance of some pharmacy. We were there to get her bruise dressed. Wait, have you heard something about it?.

Larry: no. I'm just asking so that I can get to it.

Leo: thanks bro. Keep me posted..

Larry: I sure will.

Leo ended the call and Lenny was in shock.

Larry: no no no.... It can't be..

He said pacing in the room then he pushed the wall. The woman he was watching being r***d was the same woman leo was looking for.

Larry: damn!

He shouted getting his keys and rushing out of the house, he wanted to go back to the place they had dropped Benta and even though he didn't know where he was going to start from but he had to get her.

That night I opened my eyes and alot of light hit my eyes that I had to close them again. Where was I.. I had no idea..

Me: Ethan.....

I opened my eyes again and this time I realized I was in a hospital. My entire body was in pain and I thought I saw someone who looked like a nurse.

Me: I'm I dead?

I whispered and the nurse said I was not. She leaned in towards me and asked who Ethan was.

Me: where is he?

Nurse: you came here alone. Madam, you came here in very bad shape and I don't think you know what you are talking about.

I saw her raise the needle on the syringe and I don't think I said another word...

Larrt got to the place they had dropped Benta but she was not there. Benta was missing and then he realized, it was a big mistake that he left her alive.

Larry: What if she lived?... She can and will recognize me.. damn it.

He buried his fist in his hand and then got back to his car and drove off.

Larry was going to be in trouble if Benta got to live. He was Leo's best friend and he was also his mother's accomplice, what was going to happen if Benta got out of hospital and they met face to face... What would happen when he realized that the woman he watched guys r****g and he left for dead was his own sister?

While on his way back to his place, he got a call from Lorna asking if the job was done.

Larry: yes it was... Just like you said, she will never forget.

Lorna: she is alive?

Larry: when we dumped her, she didn't show any signs of being alive. She should be dead by now, maybe resting at the mortuary in a cold freezer.

Lorna: okay..

Lorna smiled as she ended the call that was on speaker and leaned in towards Ndegwa..

Lorna: that was your own son. Larry... The one you thought I would never find out about.. the one whose mother you cheated on me with... I wonder how he will live with himself knowing what he did to his own sister...

Ndegwa folded a fist but he couldn't do anything to her because she had tied him on the bed after taking him out of the hospital.

Lorna: I couldn't get my revenge on you but now I have all the time. If Benta is not dead by any chance, I will make them hate each other maybe even kill each other, then I will kill you and take all your property and everything else that should have been mine....

She got up, kissed his forehead then walked away.....

How did she even get a hold of Ndegwa in the first place?...
