Chapter 11

2013 Words
"Cute? I thought I'm the hottest guy you've ever met-" "Caleb!" He chuckled and I laughed. "But you are though," He looked at me and then down to my lips. He kissed me quick and I was shocked. I'm pretty sure there are eyes looking at us and it's kinda embarrassing. Wow coming from the girl who made out in a bar? "Caleb... we're at school." I said. "So? It's not like they're child?" I mean he has a point, but it's still embarrassing for me. "By the way, I like how you showed your booty earlier." He said and smiled. What is he saying? Was it when I received the ball? I pushed his face away from me. "Stop, Caleb!" "Fine, fine!" He laughed. "Celena, second game, let's go." I nodded and left all my things to Caleb. "Introduce us to your boyfriend! We wanna know him." Bonnie said. "Later, after the game." I smiled. I also want to introduce Caleb, he might think I'm ashamed of him or something, we're still not together, but I'm gonna introduce him as a boyfriend. Since someone has been looking at him the moment we came here. I looked at Mau. "Mau, focus." I said. She looked at me and smiled like it was nothing. "Your boyfriend looks hot, I can't help it." She chuckled. Was that supposed to be a compliment? 'Cause it doesn't sound like one. I spike the ball right to Mau's direction. She was shocked at first on how strong was it. I'm just starting, Mau. Come and push my buttons. Everytime I'm holding the ball I pass it to her and that's what she also do. I wouldn't wonder if my teammates already notice the tension between us. This already happened before. "Why don't we rest for a bit?" Bonnie said. Me and Mau looked at each other, catching our breath. I went to the bench where Caleb is sitting. "What happened? That was quick." "Mau was looking at you since we came here and it's pissing me off." I said. "Mau? The annoying girl?" I nodded. "Hey Celena's boyfriend." "I'm no-" "Guys, this is Caleb. My boyfriend." I smiled. I saw how Caleb looked at me, he just smiled at my teammates and accepted their hands except for Mau. She's reaching her hand out, but Caleb won't accept it. I pushed his elbow. It would be rude to ignore her even though she annoys me. "I'm Mau by the way, I'm the captain ball of this team." Mau smiled. I faced to the side and rolled my eyes. I can hear Caleb's chuckle beside me, but I pinched him on the side. "So, where do you live in New York, Caleb?" Mau asked and sat beside him. The other teammates also sat beside Mau and me. Some are sitting on the floor in front of us. "Manhattan." He simply said. Mau nodded like she knows about it. Does she even knows it? "Really? My cousin used to live there, and we visit during vacation. How come I haven't met you there?" "I live in Manhattan, but I don't stay there everyday." He said. Cousin? She has a cousin living in New York? Well that was a surprise. I thought Mau was an average person. "Do you know someone named Penelope? Miller?" Penelope Miller? What the hell? That's my childhood friend! The one sent to prison for using drugs! What a small world... No wonder she has that attitude. "I don't know her." I haven't told Caleb about it, yet. I wanted to, I just couldn't find the right time to tell him. Maybe later or whenever I could open it up. "Do you want to play with us? Maybe just try?" Bonnie asked. Caleb looked at me and I just smiled to approve it. "If it's fine with you, If you don't want to, you could reject them." I whispered to him although they kind heard me. "Will it make you happy?" Caleb asked.  I nodded. I also want to know if he's sporty or he knows how to handle a ball. He stood up and went in the middle of the court with us. Surprisingly, he doesn't know how to hold a ball. How come? I mean doesn't he play basketball before? We taught him the basics and warm up. He stopped and I can see how he's catching his breath. I walk towards him and gave him the same tumbler he gave me earlier. I pat his back and clear the hair on his face. "Are you alright?" "Y-Yes, I'm just not used to play sports" So he doesn't really play? Why though? I want to ask him, but I think it would sound annoying or he might be annoyed to me. "You should stop, just watch us and rest on the bench, okay?" He nodded and smiled. They asked a lot of question to Caleb and it was kinda nice since I learned something about him. Some of the question are the same question that's been lurking around my mind lately. We finished another game and then pack things up. I'm so tired. I want to lay down, hug and smell Caleb all day. I changed my clothes on the locker room and went straight to Caleb. I hugged his arms while we walk away from the gym. He's carrying my things. I'm really tired. "Do you wanna sleep on the car?" I shook my head. I want to sit beside him and hold his hand. Gosh! I sound so clingy. He put my things on the trunk and opened the car door for me. "You can sleep if you want. I can wake you up once we get home." "I'm hungry..." I whispered. "Okay, baby. We'll get something to eat." I nodded. He closed my door and get into the driver's seat. We stopped in a restaurant. It isn't that fancy so my clothes are just fine. "What do you wanna eat?" He asked. "Anything's fine to me." He nodded and ordered for me. After we ate dinner, we went straight home. "Can you sleep here tonight?" I asked Caleb. "Sure baby, but aren't you tired?" I wrinkled my forehead. This dirty minded guy. "I'm kidding. Sure, baby," He chuckled. I went inside the bathroom to take a quick bath. I felt a bit sticky for letting out all those sweats. When I got out of the bathroom, Caleb is already on my bed playing with his phone. I walk towards him and snuck my head between his arms. He opened his arms and caressed my arms. I smiled and lean my head on his chest as I smell him. He smells good. I can still smell a hint of his perfume even though he already took a bath. I closed my eyes and just enjoy the moment. - It was like that until Friday. I'm so excited this weekend! We're going to the beach! Just us two. We told my parents about it and they're not available that weekend so they just gave us permission. The official game against other schools will start next Friday. I'm excited about that too, but I still rather spend all my time with Caleb. He still helps me with my home work, so it's easier for me to keep up with the lessons and activities even I'm training every day. It's been four days since Caleb started courting me. So far... we're doing good. We got close to each other and I also learned a few things about him. I was right of him being a summa c*m laude. He graduated Business administration at New York University. Crazy, right? Our lessons are probably just a warm up for him. He's two years older than me and they have a company in New York which is not to mention spreading now to other countries. That's why they're so rich! They have one here in the Philippines too, but he doesn't manage it. I also told Laura everything about us since I couldn't keep a secret from her. As expected, she was shocked when I told her and didn't expect the story at all. "I don't know? Maybe?" I smiled. She's asking me if our relationship is getting more serious now. "You should avoid using condoms so you guys could have a child. That way, he would never leave you." She laughed. I slapped her hard and just laughed with her. "Speaking of..." She looked behind me and smiled. I turned around and saw Caleb. I stood up with joy and hugged him tight. I can feel the stares of people. Aren't they used to it? I mean Caleb's here everyday to drop me off and pick me up. "I missed you." He said. "Huh? I was gone for like five hours." I chuckled. He just smiled at me and wrapped his arms around my waist. Chapter 8 "My mom will go back to New York for a while," "Hmm... are you going too?" "No, but I won't be staying here anymore. I have to manage the company in Manila since my uncle is coming with my mom." I'm speechless. I just nodded, but I didn't say anything. I don't like it, but I don't want his world to just revolve around me. I want to be a mature girlfriend who supports him at everything. "You're fine with it?" He asked. "Of course. It's your life anyway." I answered. I can never stop him from doing anything. Why? 'cause I'm not capable of doing so and I don't want to. I don't like a toxic relationship. He can do whatever he wants, all he have to do is to be faithful and honest with me. "Long distance relationship isn't that hard I guess and it's not like you're flying to another country. We can still meet each other during weekends or whenever you're free." He didn't say anything. He looks serious and mad. Why? Was being understanding not to his liking? I mean men usually want their women to give them permissions, right? "You're gonna let me go?" "Why not? It's not like I'm letting you go forever. We'll keep and touch and meet, Caleb." I chuckled when he frowned. We stopped in front of a restaurant. I placed my hand on his. He looked at me and I smiled. "It's fine, really Caleb. Having a relationship doesn't mean you should always be together." He's been staying in our house and sleeping my room for months. A lot has happened in my room, but I'm always the one who initiates to do it. "What if you meet other man here?" "What if YOU meet other woman there? For sure there's a lot of sexy girls there and you said I'm skinny-" "You're not! I just don't want you to limit the way you eat." He's caring but at the same time hot headed. I move my face closer to kiss him. I was about to go back to my seat when he grabbed my arms and pulled me back. He kissed me, but it was different from mine. His kiss is full of hunger and he did it deeper. He stopped and we're both catching our breath. He bit his lower lips and wet it. f**k, I'm so lucky. He went out and opened the car door for me. I suddenly felt the eager to stop stop him from going to Manila. There are a lot of pretty girls in Manila and most of them are flirty. I really want to come with him, but I couldn't since finals are near. "When are you leaving?" I asked as I sliced the steak we ordered. "Next week." What?! I dropped the utensils gently. I didn't expect he's gonna leave so soon. "W-Why?" "I thought you're gonna let me go?" He said teasingly. "I will. I'm just asking." I said, annoyed. I'm asking him seriously yet he's being sarcastic. I rolled my eyes and eat silently. "Are you mad?" He asked. "No."
