Chapter twenty one

Two of my four guardians? I knew they would be drawn to me as soon as my first power made itself known, but two at once? I guess I never really thought about how they would come to me. Rather it be one, two or even all four at once but for some odd reason I was stunned to see two of them here before me.  Klaus out of reflex moved in front of me pushing me behind him. He knew I didn't need protecting but I allowed him to do protect me so I wouldn't bruise his ego or hurt his Alpha pride. "Alpha Willow, we mean you no harm. We are your guardians and protectors. We are destined to be by your side and protect you. Us along with two others and your mate. You are in great danger until all your abilities manifest and are under your complete control." I gently put my hand on Klaus's shoulder. He looked down at me his eyes worried. I smiled "It's alright Klaus. We knew this would happen, we knew they were coming. There is no need to take things too far here, they won't hurt me or anyone here." Klaus growled lowly as his attention turned back to the two men. "Identify yourselves." Klaus said annoyed.  "Of course." The fae said. "I am Aero. And this." He said pointing to the vampire. "Is Alaric." Klaus's posture relaxed fractionally as he nodded. I sighed as I ran a hand through my hair. "I'm guessing you're going to want to stay close to me aren't you?" They both nodded. "Great. Follow me, I'll show you to where you'll be staying. I must warn you, you may have to bunk together. We are over crowded at the moment. We can only build homes and clear land so fast. While you're here I expect you to help in building or clearing land to give us more room to build. Everyone pitches in. Not only does it help the community but it also helps with endurance and strength."  "We will help in any way we can your majesty." Alaric said bowing. "Please don't do that. No bowing and no titles other than Alpha." I told them sternly. They hesitantly agreed, and I led them towards the pack house.  As always the pack lands were bustling with activity. My men were training new recruits, while our veteran fighters trained our growing number of warriors. Men and women were building, cutting down trees, shuttling food and drinks around to anyone who needs it. "Wow, you have this pack running like a well oiled machine." Aero stated. I kind of grimaced at his comment. "It is not my intention to run my people as if they were a machine. It is my intention to have my people all put in work equally, get along with one another and respect one another."  "I meant no disrespect." Aero said handing his head. "I know you didn't. Having my pack work so well together, even with all the different species that live here was not easy. It took work, and compromise, and a lot of diplomacy. In the end though it all worked out, they all get along now, they all love being with one another and would give their lives for each other. I couldn't ask for a better pack." I smiled. my love for my pack out weighed everything except my love for Klaus. I would never admit it but Klaus would always come first, he would always be my number one. Now that didn't mean I would risk the lives of the thousand or so people in my pack just to save him, but it did mean I would do everything in my power should anything happen to him.  "Alpha" Clover yelled as she ran over to me. "Oh, hello Clover. I'd like you to meet Aero and Alaric. They are two of my four guardians. Alaric, Aero, this is Clover. She is the witch helping me bring my witch powers to the surface." The men looked at each other worriedly before turning to me. "Your witch powers haven't manifested yet?" Aero asked shocked. "Well no. But it's not a big deal, right?" I questioned. "What powers have you shown so far?" He asked avoiding my question. "Just fire." I shrugged.  "That is not good Alpha. You should have come into your vampire and witch by now and you should have gained a few more powers." Alaric informed me. "Well maybe now that the two of you are here more will be revealed." I said hopefully. How was I supposed to know I should have come into more power by now? There isn't exactly a rule book I can follow. "Maybe." He replied skeptically.  I shook my head as anger started to raise its ugly head. They were acting as if this was my fault, as if my powers not manifesting was my fault. Like my alter egos not coming forward was my decision. Of course if I had any decision in the matter they would manifest all at once and I would gain control little by little. But no, they decide not to manifest at all. UGH! Why could this not be easier.  "Look." I grit out. "It is not my fault these powers and alter egos have not made themselves known."  I was mad and I couldn't figure out why my temper just kept rising. No matter how many breaths I took, how many times I closed my eyes and counted to ten, nothing was working. I felt like I was about to blow up.  "Willow." Klaus called. I knew he could feel my anger by his tone. "Willow, what happened?" He asked grabbing me by my shoulders. I gritted my teeth together, unable to answer him. "What happened to her?" He demanded of the others. "I don't know, we were just talking and it's like she fell into some kind of rage. She is trying to fight it but it seems it just keeps rising." Clover answered. "How do you know this?" Klaus asked. "I'm a witch, remember?" She deadpanned.  My head started to feel like a rubber band was inside it and it was being stretched to it's limit. The further it stretched the more my head hurt. It stretched further and further until finally it snapped. I fell to my knees screaming as the pain rampaged through me. It shot from my head to every other part of my body. When it felt like the pain was dying down and I could breath again, a sudden and searing pain coursed through me.  I screamed again. But something was different. There was a power in the scream. I forced my head to look up and eyes to open. What I saw made my eyes go wide. Everyone. Klaus, Clover, Aero and Alaric were all scattered across the lawn. What the hell just happened? What was that intense pain? The power I felt in my scream? And What sent all of them flying?
