"Can we stop now?" I groaned. "We have been at this for weeks. My witch side just isn't ready to show herself yet." I said as I stood. "No, I'm sorry Alpha." Clover responded with her head bowed. "Practicing magic, rather it be there or not yet will help you when you do come into your power. Yes, your witch side will help lead and even protect you before you reach your full power, but you still need now to help you."
I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. "That may be so. Unfortunately I don't have time to practice things that have yet to make themself known. I need to practice what I have now. I have almost complete control over my fire now. I am hoping that once I have full control another power will appear." Clover chuckled lightly. "That's not usually how these things work Alpha. But I'll leave you be. Please come see me again when you feel you are ready." I smiled in thanks and she walked away.
It had been weeks since Eve had made herself known and training in lycan form as much as I have been has gotten her stronger and more powerful. Seeing Eve covered in my fire and fighting was something else, she was unstoppable. "No!" Eve reprimanded me. "Never consider yourself unstoppable. Once you consider yourself unbeatable is the minute that you start getting cocky and feel no one can best you. You get weak, uncaring and feel no one had power over you so you start getting sloppy until eventually you'll slip up and that one slip up will cost not only your life, but the life of those you love."
I was shocked into silence. She was right. No matter how powerful you are there is always going to be someone more powerful. This evil coming for example. It is more powerful than I am, controlling the demons and sending them to kill innocent people. I shook my head. "You're right Eve, I'm sorry." She nodded her head and sat beside Jade in the back of my mind. I smiled, they had become best friends in the last few weeks since Eve showed up. I was glad she had someone besides me. I got so busy training and being Alpha that I haven't really been able to talk to her much lately.
I was still left wondering why no other power has made itself known though, why the witch side of myself hasn't made herself known. I know they needed time to manifest, and I understood that, but I was growing impatient. I needed to protect my people, my family. "Alpha!" someone shouted behind me. I turned to see Damon racing towards me, his face grim. Damon was never scared, never showed any emotion other than determination and joy. His sudden shift into worry had me alert and ready. "What is it Damon?" I asked rushing to him.
"Alpha. There are people here. Vampires, other shifters and creatures I have no name for. They are ar our boarder demanding to speak with you." My nerves quietened a little. "I called the other supernaturals here remember." I said to Damon. He raised his brow in confusion before recognition registered. He laughed nervously as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Ya, I forgot." He admitted. "Come on, lets shift and go meet our visitors."
We both shifted and took off running. Well I more like trotted in order to keep pace with Damon. Sure his wolf was large, but in comparison to my wolf, he barely cleared my legs. I laughed to myself at the difference in our height. It was amusing to see, but also disheartening. I know the difference between us couldn't be easy for him or for anyone. No one ever said anything but I could still feel their disappointment when they knew I was holding myself back for their sake. "Willow, just go." Damon mind linked. "You know I hate it when you keep pace with me. It makes me look small and defenseless."
"Fine." I sighed. "Meet you there." I told him and took off. It's not like I meant to make people feel like that. The last thing I wanted was to make my people feel like they can't take care of themself. That's the whole reason I am making everyone train. But my size always makes people second guess their own ability and power, which is why I didn't shift unless I had to.
I heard them before I saw them. People yelling back and forth, growling, snarling, hissing. I shook my head. Could they not hold people off without arguing with them? "Enough!" I shouted into all of their heads. I growled as I reached where they all were, jumping to stand in between my people and the people standing at the territory's boarder. "We do not fight or argue with people who have come to visit or assist us. Do I make myself clear?" I mind linked my pack. "Now shift."
Everyone shifted back to their human and bowed their heads. "Yes, Alpha. Please forgive us." Travis said. Travis use to be the beta of Red Moon before the packs merged. Now he was the head warrior. I nodded my head and turned to the new comers before I shifted back to my human. "As Alpha if I give you enough courtesy to not only reprimand my pack on your behalf but also shift to my more vulnerable form I expect the same courtesy in return." I said calmly.
The group of people looked at me then looked back at each other, silently asking one another for permission. I sighed. "I can always shift back." I said nonchalantly. The people's eyes widened before everyone was now in their human form. "Great." I chirped. "Now. How many of you have come to join in on the war that is coming?"
A broad smile formed as every hand raised in response. "Very good. Follow me and you will be set up in your accommodations for the foreseeable future." I turned without another word and started walking home. I knew they were all following, I could feel them. Feel their hesitance, their fear, their respect, so may different emotions coming from so many people. "Unless you mean harm to me or my pack, there is no reason to fear me." I said never looking towards them. "Now for a brief introduction. My name is Willow, I am Alpha of the Silver pack. My mate is a dragon shifter and his name is Klaus. In my pack the members are not all wolves. I have wild cats and dragon shifters as members as well. All are welcome here no matter race."
Whispers began throughout the following crowd as we continued our walk. I never spoke another word, letting them figure things out for themself and get the lay of the land. If they were going to be here a while they needed to know where our boundaries were and where everything was. I had to admit this was an odd group of supernaturals, and I was even more curious as to why they were traveling together. I could feel the difference in race. There were vampires and fae among the array of shifters.
Two of the people's energy though was calling to me. It was powerful and radiated authority. I had to find out who was giving off this kind of power. I looked over my shoulder, silently taking in the people behind me. They were all nervous, looking around the territory like someone would jump out at them at any moment. I sighed shaking my head.
As I was turning back around two men caught my eye. They were standing dead last. Their posture was rigid, their muscles tense. One of the men was Fae. He had the pointed ears, long silver hair and silver eyes to match and his skin was pale as ivory. He wasn't large or bulky but he was lean and muscular. As if he felt my eyes on him they snapped to mine.
His silver eyes widened in recognition, while I tilted my head to the side and furrowed my brows in confusion. He smiled warmly and I shook my head and focused on the man beside him. He had cropped brown hair and snow white skin. He was slightly taller than the fae man and just a bit more bulky and muscular. They were both handsome, but held no attraction.
When the other man's attention focused on me he smiled, his sharpened canines flashing. Ah, so he was a vampire. They were both looking at me like they knew me, but I had never seem them before today. I smiled and nodded at them out of respect before turning my attention ahead of me just in time to see Klaus walking my way. I smiled and raced towards him jumping into his arms. "Hello to you too my love." Klaus chuckled.
I kissed him on the cheek and faced the crowd. "This is the group of people who have come to help in the war to come. I'm sure there are more to come but they are here now and we need to set them up in some of our guest houses."
Klaus nodded. "Damon, Travis, Ryland." He called. In no time at all they were standing in front of us. "Please show our guests to where they'll be staying." Klaus said kindly. They nodded and led the crowd away. All except the two men I noticed earlier. My guard was instantly up as I regarded them. "Who are you?" I asked tightly. They looked at each other and back to me before smiling and falling to one knee with their hand fisted across their heart. "We are two of your guardians. We pledge out lives in service to you."
