After getting clean the women all met me back in the dining room of the pack house. Each of them seemed like a huge weight had been lifted off their shoulders and some were actually smiling. Funny how killing your tormentors could be such good therapy.
"Ok, ladies. Do all of you want to help in the decorating of the new homes?" I asked. All of them looked to me, some seemed genuinely excited as they nodded their heads. I looked at the others with a raised brow. "And what would you ladies like to do?" Amelia stepped towards the front of the small group. "We would like to begin training." She stated confidently. "Are you sure? The female warrior isn't here yet." I warned her. Amelia closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Yes Alpha. We are sure." I nodded my head. "Very well then. Go ahead and go to the training grounds. Tell Beta Damon I sent you and asked him to train you personally. He is my best friend and will be a wonderful teacher for you." They each bowed their head "Yes Alpha." They said and left.
Turning to the remaining ladies I split them into groups of ten. Ten women for each of the five homes. I gave them each furniture catalogs, appliance catalogs and then another for flooring and paint or wall paper and left them to it. They all seemed to be happy and content with the jobs they were given which made me smile in response.
I then decided to take a walk through the territory. More homes were beginning to be built which was great, the members deserved to have a home. A lot of the pack still had a home that just needed some remodeling and updates, which they were given the finances to do. But some of the newer members needed a home and we had to have extras ready for if we got more members in the pack or another member happens to find their mate.
"Klaus." I called as I entered the training grounds a few hours later. He ran up to me and engulfed me in his arms. "Hello my love. How are you?" He asked. "Tired." I said with a chuckle. "How or the women doing?" Klaus rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "They are weak and untrained. Damon has them on weights and basic workouts for now to get them stronger. He said after they do that and start running for a few months they will move onto basic training and sparring."
"I can understand that." I said. "They need a starting point and this is exactly where they need to start. Damon will train them well." I assured him. "So how are Alpha duties treating you?" Klaus asked as he pulled me to one of the benches and sat down. "It's hard, but it's getting done. So much has been neglected since my father passed. The only thing that they actually took seriously was the businesses the pack owns. Those companies are the main source of income for the pack, I don't know where we would be if they had neglected those." Klaus sighed. "Well at least that is a bit of good news."
"Alpha, dinner is ready." Marcie, the pack cook linked me. "Thank you Marcie." I said and stood. "Alright everyone. Time to get cleaned up for dinner." I called. All heads turned to me before a stampede of wolves starting heading my way. I jumped out of the way laughing at them. "Well that was a quick response." Klaus chuckled. "Hungry wolves are nothing to play around with." I teased.
Screams erupted from the pack house that had me shifting and running towards them in seconds. When I got there, the men were all posed defensively in front of the women facing a hoard of what looked to be disfigured and twisted humans. I jumped in front of the pack members that were there and growled at the twisted figures. "What are they?" I asked Jade. "Demons." Jade answered growling. "What? How do we defeat demons?" I all but yelled. "They are like vampires. Pull out their heart or sever the head. Anything else will only piss them off."
I growled at the creatures again and mind linked the pack. "They're demons. The only way to kill them is to rip out their heart or sever the head. Some of you shift the rest stay in your human form and protect the women." In no time at all I was flanked by more than a dozen wolves and even more of the wild cat shifters. Believe it or not some of the wild cat and dragon shifters had decided to stay and join my pack, claiming that I am some kind of chosen shifter. I never told them what Jade said. I honestly wasn't comfortable with it yet.
A screeching wail pierced the air causing my pack to whimper and begin clawing at their ears. So in an attempt to stop the demons wails I let out a howl so powerful it shook the trees and knocked the demons back several feet. And before the demons could get their barrings back I attacked. I started ripping heads from bodies one by one, but it never seemed to make a dent on the creatures numbers, even when the other joined the fight. It was like kill one and two more take its place.
Soon the demons started to get the upper hand. I scanned the area in one quick motion and what I saw made me lose my mind. Klaus was in the middle of a group of demons that were clawing at biting at him. Blood, scratches and profusely bleeding bite marks covered his body.
Something in me broke at the sight and an unfamiliar energy or power filled my being. Another howl ripped from my body causing the ground to tremble and shake at the force. Then my entire wolf form was engulfed in flames, but it didn't burn. If anything it grew bigger and hotter with my rage. "It's your first power Willow. The Guardians will be awaken now and will come looking for you."
I heard what she said but I couldn't process it. The only thing on my mind was to save my mate and my pack. So I dove muzzle first into the battle surrounding Klaus. The second my fire touched the demons they were instantly reduced to ash. Once I knew Klaus was safe, I went after every other demon in my territory turning them into nothing but a putrid smelling piles of ash.
By the time I was done everyone was looking at me with emotions ranging from excited and happy to concerned and fearful. I shook my head and sighed as I shifted back. "Not now." I told them. "I will explain all of this the way Jade explained it to me, I promise you. Just not right now. Right now lets all just go get cleaned up and sit down for dinner." They all reluctantly agreed and went their separate ways. "Willow, what are you hiding from me?" Klaus asked as we made it to our room to clean up. "I'll explain everything at dinner, I promise." I assured him.
After we were both clean and dressed we made our way down to the dining room. It was full of shifters excited and curious to find out what was going on. I sighed heavily. "Alright everyone calm down and quite down." I said making my way to my seat at the head of the table. "I know that none of you are going to drop this so here goes. Apparently I am some kind of chosen one. Chosen not only to be the first female Alpha, but to be the one that unites and rules the supernaturals. I will gain powers, powers of which I have no clue about. This was the first time I have unlocked one. But jade warned that when I unlocked my first power I would unlock the bond that has been placed on four guardians. These four guardians were hand selected by the moon goddess to guard and protect me in the war to come."
"Who is Jade?" A voice spoke up. "Jade is my wolf." I answered formally. "There are no questions I can really answer. I have no idea what this means or what it could mean. I will be contacting the elders tomorrow to see if I can get answers. Until then I expect all of you to keep this quiet. Understand?" My voice was firm, leaving no room for argument or further discussion. "Yes, Alpha." The responded. "Good. Now lets eat." I sat down and didn't speak another word for the rest of the meal. I was too busy trying to figure our what this would bring to my pack and to my people.
