I sat in my office just staring at the phone. what can I say that won't make me sound like I'm losing my mind? Asking about a flaming wolf with four guardians just sounds outlandish. But there has to be something about all of this, a prophecy maybe. I physically shuddered at the thought, most prophecies did not end well for the main character or those close to them.
Finally sighing in resignation I dialed the number. "This is elder Rick, state your name and pack please." Well, here goes nothing. "This is Alpha Willow of the Silver pack." The line went silent except some hushed whispers and shuffling on the other side. "Ah yes, the female alpha we have heard so much about, it is a pleasure to finally get to meet you. The great elder John informed us of you." I scrunched my brows together. "Elder John?" I honestly had no idea who this man was speaking of. "Elder John is the Elder from that represents all wolves on the Elder council." Rick said lightly. Ah, so this john was the d**k who didn't like me very much. Unless that was his a natural demeanor in which I feel sorry for the people around him.
"I am calling for some information." I stated quickly. "Alright, what can the council do for you?" Closing my eyes I took a deep calming breath. "I need to know if there is any kind of prophecy or warning or anything that surrounds a wolf that comes into some kind of power and is surrounded by four bonded guardians. Any information would be greatly appreciated."
"What do you know of this?" Another voice asked. Ah, so the shuffling was the rest of the council surrounding the phone. I shook my head smiling. "Not much to be honest. The only thing I know is that when this wolf comes into his or her first power she unlocks the bond of the guardians, and from there they will find the one they are bonded to. Also that this wolf is somehow supposed to bring all supernaturals together somehow to fight in a war. After said war this wolf is supposed to rule over them all."
I repeated what Jade told me carefully, not wanting to implicate myself, but just by calling them I may have already done that. If I wanted to be honest with myself I did not like the idea of a war so soon after getting my pack back, and I sure as hell did not like the idea of becoming a queen.
"Well my dear, we have been spending some time in the grand library lately and just happen to run across what you're talking about. It seems it was written by the moon goddess herself." I heard papers rustling on the other end of the phone until I heard. "Ah, here it is." I didn't know that voice. The entire council must have been huddled around the phone. "She promised that when the great evil was unleashed she would send to us one of the most powerful wolves to exist. This wolf will be her natural born child, placed in the womb of one female who she deemed worthy to raise her child.Since the wolf is her child, it will not only be a wolf, but a lycan, a vampire and a witch. All of which the moon goddess has creation and watch over.
The wolf will have many abilities in which it will have to master before facing the great evil. The great evil, is a darkness personified, sending it's demon underlings to scope and take notes of the many supernatural communities while it regenerates its power, a power that will take roughly twenty five years Once it has regained all its power he will start a war, a war in which its main goal is to eradicate all supernaturals from this realm.
Her child and her guardians are the only chance the supernatural world has. She is to gather an army of all races, explaining to them who it is and what they were sent to do. Should the child be defeated the supernatural world will fall. Should the child live, a new era of peace and prosperity will befall the supernatural world, with the child as their newly crowned ruler."
I was shocked into silence with my jaw on the floor. Why me? What makes me so special the moon goddess would want me? Well, I guess there is no want. If I am her child that makes me a demigoddess, and I guess she couldn't pick if she wanted a male or female child. I dropped my head in my hands and groaned. This can't be happening.
"Do you know who this wolf is child?" Elder Rick asked. I nodded, then remembered they can't see me nodding my head through the phone and spoke. "Yes, I do." I choked. "Great, bring them to us and let us train them." A half choked laugh fell from my lips. "I can't do that." I responded. "And why is that?" The deep, raspy and condescending voice asked. I knew that voice. "Ah, elder John. I was wondering when you'd let me know you were there." I said dryly. "And I can't because I am that wolf apparently and I will not leave my pack in the disarray it is in right now. I have spent my life training to bring my pack back to life and I won't leave it now."
"Fine, very well." John's voice was now suddenly respectful and submissive and I rolled my eyes. "We will send our strongest warriors to train your pack to train all of you. If the rumors are correct the Red Moon pack has merged into the Silver pack to form one large pack. I will need to you to call enough warriors to you without leaving your territory unprotected so they can begin training."
"I have made it mandatory everyone train, even the females. They are allowed to begin whenever they think they are ready, but once a child reaches the age of ten it is mandatory. That way by the time they reach eighteen and have their first shift they can continue training with experience in their human and wold form." I knew I didn't have to inform the council of this, but I felt it to be necessary.
"Willow, we need you to start training with your abilities as soon as possible. We can not go into this war unprepared." John said. I closed my eyes and massaged the bridge of my nose. "I have only come into one power so far. My lycan has not made her presence known and neither has my witch. But I can train them as they come. And since the goddess said she would send the child when the evil escaped that means the evil has had eighteen years to gain its power, leaving us with roughly seven years to train and prepare." I said, suddenly feeling exhausted and drained. I haven't felt like this since I was beginning to shift for the first time.
"Hello Willow." A new wispy voice sounded in my head. My head snapped up so fast if I was human I'd have snapped it. "Who are you?" I thought, my voice almost panicked. "I am Eve, your Lycan. You will shift very soon child. It is not wise to shift so close to people for the first time, it is dangerous and could result in the wrongful killing of one close to you." I groaned and dropped my head heavily onto my desk. "Thank you council members I must go now." I said and hung up the phone without waiting for a response. Quickly mind linking Klaus, I said "Klaus, I must go into the woods for a few hours. My first shift into a lycan is soon and no one can be around. I will be in pain, so please ignore it, I promise I will be fine."
I could feel Klaus's concern as it tightened in my chest like a snake. "Are you sure about this?" Klaus asked. "Yes unfortunately. She said no one should be around for my first shift that people could be killed. Please just stay here and look after our people for a few hours." Klaus sighed "Ok, Willow. Be careful." Quickly telling him I would I jumped from my seat and bolted out the door. Before my feet could even hit the ground I shifted and took off into the trees. The only thing I can do now is hope everything works out.
