Chapter Five

Faith    “Wait.. what?” My body tumbled backwards, caught by Missys body as she pulled me from the hands on my hips. What the hell? I had been enjoying myself. Dancing. One half-full cup in one hand and my hips held by two strong hands. What was up with her spoiling my fun? And why was she so short all of a sudden? I squinted down at her, narrowing my eyes as the room around me began to spin. Oops, maybe I was a little drunker than I had thought. A giggle escaped my lips. “You're so short” “Shut up Faith, and come on. I didn’t bring you here to get lucky” “SSSSH” My whisper wasn’t exactly quiet and I pressed my finger to her lips.  Why was she shouting my name out for all to hear? Weren't we meant to be incognito? “Sssh” I giggled again. Maybe those rum and cokes were a little stronger than I realised. “Jesus woman, you are wasted” Missy's voice was disapproving but her eyes glittered. Of course, I was wasted, she had been the one to drag me to this party. A party hosted by the sins. Knowing full well I had an idiotic, totally unreasonable crush on them. Plus she had put that first drink n my hand. Well no, that had been Hunter but I hadn’t drunk anything from that one. Noooo… didn’t want o get drugged. Not even by Mr leather jacket. If he wanted t get me naked, he would have to ask nicely the same as anyone else. The thought sobered me up instantly. Shit. I really was drunk if I was thinking like that. “Come on, we have work to do” She tugged on my hand and I left my dance partner with a small wave. “Toodles” “Hey I was dancing with her” “And now you are going home with your hand, have fun sweet cheeks” as usual Missy was ruthless as she dragged me away. “Shoes off Faith, it's like I am talking to a giant and I can't concentrate with your boobs in my face” “Whats?” Using one hand for balance I slipped the shoes off with the other. grimacing at the stickiness of the floor on my stockinged feet. Gross. “What's going on? What are we doing?” I knew Missy, she was always up to some mischief or another. Self consciously I started to lift the lace mask from my face. I was sweating buckets under it. I needed just a few minutes to cool my face down before I passed out. “For god's sake, put it back on” she swore low and long. Such a foul mouth from such an angelic face, I grinned down at her. “No one is meant to see us, how are we meant to spy and have a snoop if someone sees us. We would be busted in no time at all” “Spy?” she was confusing me more and more by the second. “Who are we spying on and why?” “The sins of course” she shook her head as if I was being stupid, I was pretty sure my mouth was open like an i***t anyway. “Why the hell else would we be here?” “I don t know, to have fun?” I looked forlornly back at my dance party. Who was already dancing with someone else? Pfft, no loyalty these days. “Don’t be silly, now let's go” I let myself be dragged up the stairs and no one stopped us. Which wasn’t that surprising, we were just two drunk girls heading upstairs. Most party-goers were too wasted to notice and those that weren’t would probably just assume we were heading upstairs to make out in private. “Go, take photos” She gave me a little push to an open doorway, I could just make out the corner of a neatly made bed in the dark. “Report back at the bathroom in fifteen minutes” “Missy, I really don’t think this is a good…” It wasn’t a good idea. If we got caught snooping the sins would make our lives hell. Or phone the police. My grandparents would rip me a new one if I got arrested my first semester. “Stop being such a baby” she walked off without looking back, slipping into a room across the hall with a wink. I loved Missy, I really did but she had a reckless streak I just couldn’t keep up with. The room was dark, and it only deepened when I closed the door with a soft click behind me. Letting my eyes try to adjust. I really shouldn’t have drunk so much, I tried to blink away the lights that seemed to flicker over by the window. Blueish green. Strange. Rubbing at my eyes I let myself tumble forward, a small breeze lifting the hair from my neck. The windows were shut, I was sure of that. God, it was October, no one in their right mind would have their windows open with the rain coming down like it was. So where was that breeze coming from? And those strangely beautiful lights. Drawing me to them like I was a moth powerless to resist the flame. I screamed when I felt the air move behind me, but it was cut off as a hand clamped itself over my mouth. Dragging my body back against a rock hard chest. I fought for a few seconds, using every ounce of my strength but it was useless. Even my wild kicks didn’t seem to make a difference. And then his scent filled my nose and my mind whirled, the room span. He smelt so god damn good. “I knew you would come” And blackness engulfed me as the lights seemed to wrap me about. I was falling. Opening my mouth to scream, no sound came out. And I was swept into oblivion.
