"Aunt Alice! What is going on?" She wraps me in a tight hug and cries. Never, and I mean never, does this woman cry. She is the strongest person I know, so seeing her like this shatters my heart. "Nova is missing! Her scent is being masked, so whoever took her must be involved with a witch. We have our warriors out searching for her, but so far nothing."
Landon places a hand on Aunt Alice's shoulder and informs us both that he's going to help with the search. I nod my head and watch him exit the palace. "I need to know if you have any idea who would do this? Did you have someone watch the security cameras yet?" She nods her head against my shoulder. "The last thing on the camera was everyone singing to Nova at her party, then blank. Whoever is behind this was capable of wiping out the entire security footage. Star, if anything happens to her..."
I pull Aunt Alice softly away from my shoulder so that I can look her in the eyes. "Nobody is going to harm my little princess. I promise you tha-
"ALICE!" Landon's shouting interrupts us. Behind him is Andrew with a pissed-off expression and a few of the warriors. "Star. Thank goddess you're here." Uncle Landon seems relieved by my presence as he gives me a hug. "Good news I hope?" I ask, already knowing the answer. "No." Andrew answers instantly. Uncle Landon hands me a piece o paper that I hadn't noticed was in his hands before.
"What is it?" Aunt Alice asks as she begins to read it over my shoulder.
If you want your princess back, hand over the moon goddess. You have until sunset. Meet at the waterfalls in the neutral territory. The moon goddess must come alone or the princess drowns.
I clenched the paper so tight that it caught on fire. Woah! What? Did I do that? The others were also just as surprised as I was.
"Don't worry, I'll go. Please, don't follow me." I said the last part mostly directed at Andrew. "No f*****g way are you going with who knows what. A witch, vampire, crazy wolf. You don't know who you are dealing with!" I try to remain a calm voice as I reassure him and everyone else that I will be fine. "Mate is only worried about us because he loves us so much, you know he is aware that you can handle yourself on your own." My wolf is always on his side, I swear. "I'm going with you. I'll keep my distance so nobody knows I'm there." Aunt Alice chimes in. "NO!" I shout this time, getting annoyed that nobody is listening to what I'm saying. When I open my eyes, everyone except Andrew is bowing to me in submission. "Sorry. Please stand up. I didn't mean to lose my cool like that. I just need you all to trust me. I'm the moon goddess with many powers I have yet to discover. I am more than capable of handling this on my own. "
Uncle Landon sighs and rubs his face in frustration. "Star. We all know you can do this, but that doesn't stop us from worrying. We're family, it's what we do with our loved ones."
"Screw this." Andrew mutters before storming off to who knows where. Ugh. I'll deal with him later. "Nova will be back home safe and sound. Please tell your men to stop their search." As requested, Uncle Landon mindlinks the men and they begin returning inside the palace looking displeased.
"I'm going to walk to the meeting place. Can you do me a favor and try to talk with Andrew?" Aunt Alice nods her head and hugs me tightly again. "Thank you, Star. Be safe."
"If you need help, or anything at all, DO NOT hesitate to ask, you understand?" Uncle Landon asks me sternly. "Yes", I reply as I hug him as well before leaving.
