Violet's POV

As soon as we heard that Nova was missing, Benjamin was quick to tell me and his father to go help. Juliette and Ryan would both remain at the packhouse as well to help Benjamin and Sarah if anything were to arise. Avery says he will drive and we all begin to pile into his SUV. However, there's too many of us to fit, so Megg and Jace take another car with Noah and Alex. I can't help thinking of Nova. Who could be so cruel as to kidnap an innocent child? Arriving at the palace, we jump out and something seems out of place. I can see that there are warriors patrolling the territory, but other than that, everything seems normal. Shouldn't they all be out looking for the princess?

"Strange." My mom says out loud, all of us agreeing with her as if we know what she is referring to. Wasting no more time, we hurry up the stairs and the guards let us in since they know who we are.

"Alice!" Noah and I say at the same time as we rush to our crying sister. "Sorry to interrupt this precious moment, but what the hell is going on?" My dad asks, sounding annoyed.

Landon explains everything to us that happened and I read the note that he was passing around to everyone that was found. My eyes widen for two reasons. One being that Star is on Earth and second being that the kidnapers threatened to kill a child. "Where's Andrew? He agreed with letting his mate go alone on a suicide mission?" I growl out. Chris puts a hand on my shoulder in an attempt to calm me. However, the sparks are calming, but I can feel his anger just as well. "I am 100% against this, but I was outnumbered." We turn our attention to Andrew coming down the stairs to join us in the living room. Within a second, Chris had him by the throat pinned up against the wall. "What kind of man lets his mate go alone to an enemy? Who cares if nobody agrees with you? You do what you feel is right! You realize you may never see her again, right?!" I want to feel bad for Andrew, but I'm with Chris on this one. Andrew begins to cry and that's when Chris drops his body to the floor.

"ENOUGH!" King Landon's voice booms out. "I understand your frustration, but he had a direct order from me and my queen to not go. Take your anger out on me, not him. Star is stronger than you give her credit for and I have no doubt that she will return to us with Nova."

"I need time alone to think." I simply state and head to one of the guest bedrooms. "I'll join you soon my love." I hear Chris say through our link. "I love you, but this is a lot, I rather be alone for now." My wolf is pissed at me for lying to our mate, but it needs to be done. He'll understand. "Okay, Violet. Just, please don't block me or the family out from you again. We just got you back, I can't lose you again." Guilt pulls at my heart hearing his words. I shouldn't have kept myself locked in our bedroom for all those months, and I've apologized for my behavior to my family. It wasn't fair to Benny or anyone else for me to neglect them, but that's what depression did to me.

"I won't, I promise." I reassure him and he tells me to get some rest, that he'll check on me later.

Now what? My wolf asks and I answer her by quietly opening the bedroom window. "Now we go help our pup save our niece." Jumping out the window with ease as I shift, my paws land on the ground with a soft thud. I run off to the location that was stated on the note. When I arrive, I keep a safe distance so that Star and the Alpha and his men don't see me. What was she thinking? She is severely outnumbered! I keep searching the area and lock my eyes on Nova. My heart shatters at how frightened she looks.

"I'm here! Now, let Nova return home to her parents unharmed," Star demands. "Do I have your word that you will return with me to my pack without trying to escape? I would hate to make this harder on you than it needs to be, my love." Ugh. This Alpha disgusts me. I keep staring to see if I recognize him. John! That's Alpha John of the Claw Pack! He asked me to dance with him at Nova's birthday party and I thought Chris was literally going to tear his hand off that he held out for me to grab, even after I said no.

"You have my word."

I continue to watch her next move. Was she really going to go with them so easily?

"Kyle, return the princess. Be sure to video call us the moment you return her to the palac-

He then holds a hand up and tells everyone to be quiet.

"I told you to come here alone." He stares at Star with anger clear in his eyes. I gulp, knowing he knows I'm here.

"Come out. NOW!" I don't hesitate to make myself known. I don't want to anger him any further. "Mom?!" Star exclaims, surprised yet angry that I'm here.

"Oh, please. Don't act like you didn't bring her ad backup."

"Don't talk to my daughter like that!" I snap at him. How dare he call my child a liar. "Help! I send out a quick link to Chris, hoping he and the royal pack get here before it's too late.

"KILL HER!" Alpha John yells out and the man holding Nova shoves her head under the water. "NO!!! Star and I shout as we rush at the Alpha and his warriors.
