Chapter 20 

Hayley’s POV 

Addie is just finishing up her pancakes when I hear the doorbell. Addie looks at me excitedly before running to answer the door.  I follow slowly behind her, as she opens the door there is Alex standing there holding bouquets of flowers.  

“Good Morning Addie! These are for you” 

Thank you!” she replies 

“And these ones are for you” He says as he hands me a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers 

“My favorite” I say smiling 

He just smiles back at me. 

“Addie why don’t you run and brush your teeth and I’ll put our flowers in vases” 

“Ok mommy!” She says handing me her flowers and running up the stairs to her bathroom. 

“Thank you for the flowers they are beautiful” 

“Not as beautiful as you” he replies kissing me. 

“I have wanted to kiss you from the moment she opened the door” he says grinning 

I chuckle pulling away before Addie catches us. 

“Hey uhh this is an awkward question but since you’re here I'll ask.” I say nervously 

“What?” He asks 

“Did you ah.....umm use any protection last night?” I say looking away as I blush 

“Umm no I didn’t....I assumed you were on birth control.” 

“I’m not but i’m gonna call and make a doctor's appointment today so I can get on some. For this time I'll just run to the pharmacy and grab a plan B just in case. Next time bring some condoms” I say chuckling.  

“I’m ready to go” Addie says smiling 

“Well then Princess lets go” Alex says  

Alex’s POV 

Addie runs to my truck opening the back door hopping in. I climb in the driver's seat and make sure Addie is all set before I take off. The first few minutes were quiet as neither of us know what to say. 

“Where is your baby? Liam” Addie finally asks 

“Your little brother Liam is at my house with his nanny this morning while I bring you to school.” I say smiling at her 

“How come you didn’t bring him with you?” 

“I wanted it to just be you and me, I thought some time together without anyone else would be good, but don’t worry you will meet him” 

She smiles at the thought of meeting Liam. 

“I have always wanted to be a big sister, I can’t wait to hold him!” Addie says excitedly 

“I'm sure he will love you” I say. We spend the rest of the drive talking about school and new friends and her ballet lessons. 

“I have been taking ballet since I was 4!” Addie says proudly 

“Thats wonderful and I'm sure your great at it, I can’t wait to see your recital” I say looking back at her. Her face beaming with excitement. 

“Do you think that Grampa will want to come?” she asks nervously 

“I bet he would love to come, you can invite him yourself when you see him next. Grandpa is excited to get to know you as well.” I reply. As I look back at Addie she is smiling looking out the window. As we pull up to the school I find myself sad that we are here already. I really enjoyed being able to talk with and get to know Addie. She is a bright ambitious beautiful girl.  

“Thanks for bringing me to school Daddy” She says smiling at me. 

“Anytime beautiful” I reply as she hops out of the truck and runs into the school.  

Me: Hey Hayls I just wanted to let you know Addie got to school just fine 

Hayley: Thanks again for bringing her, I hope you guys got to enjoy the quality time together. Addie was excited when I told her this morning. 

Me: It was great, I enjoyed the time with her I can’t wait to spend more time with her. 

Hayley: Well I don’t work weekends so how about Saturday we can all spend some time together. Liam too if you're ok with that. 

Me: That would be great!
