Book 1 Chapter Nine

"Come here you little gremlin", James said as he picked Mason up and tickled his side making Mason giggle.
James and I were sitting on the floor playing with Mason, James was so cute with babies. As soon as he saw Mason he picked him up and started crying.
"Here baby look", I said as he turned around and smiled up at me.
I held my arms out, wanting him to come to me from across the room.
James stood up and held Mason's hands, helping him to walk towards me. I nearly started crying, I was so happy that my baby's finally learning how to walk.
"Come on Mason come to mama, come on baby come on", I said as he started giggling and taking faster steps towards me.
As he reached me I wrapped my arms around him, cuddling him and kissing his cheek.
"Good boy", I squealed spinning him in the air as he giggled.
After about ten minutes of playing, he yawned and rubbed his eyes.
"Someone's tired time for bed I think", I said as we walked to his nursery.
Everyone met Mason after training and were happy for me and Mason.
By the time I reached the nursery, he was fast asleep I put him in his bed and kissed him goodnight.
"Sleep tight my angel I love you", I said walking out of the room and to my own room.
It was the same as how I left it. Big four-poster king-sized bed, massive bathroom, walk-in closet and a balcony that looks out at the Packland. I walked to my bathroom and took a hot shower, I rinsed my body and washed my hair. I got out and wrapped a fluffy towel around my body.
I changed into clean underwear and a sports bra, and then just put on one of James' long band tops I stole from him that reached mid-thigh. I went back to my bathroom and brushed my hair and teeth before getting into bed and falling asleep straight away. After all that has happened today, I was physically and emotionally drained.
------7 Hours Later------
'Alpha there's 5 rouges just outside of the border, what should we do?', Latin mind linked me waking me up from my slumber.
"I'll be there in 5, wait for me outside the Packhouse, I don't want any Pack members injured", I said, getting out of bed.
I grabbed a pair of sweats and a sports bra and shifted. Mason started to cry.
'Mum sorry if I woke you but there have been rogue spotting's. I need to go so can you look after Mason for me? Thank you', I mind linked her and jumped off the balcony in my wolf form.
"Sarah the rouges have attacked the Blood Moon Pack and there are more rouges joining the attack", James said running by my side. That's just great!
'Great! All right, remember what I taught you to trust yourself and be smart. Protect the Blood Moon Pack', I said through the mind link as we reached the Pack lands.
There were rogues everywhere we could win but I might have to call in more wolfs. We attacked and fought till the last bit of rogue blood was spilt.
------3 Hours Later------
We were winning but more and more rogues kept coming I had just ripped out a rouges throat when I was tackled to the ground. The rouge bit my shoulder sending excruciating pain through my body, I howled and growled at the rouge. I snapped at it and bit its leg causing it to howl and claw at me, leaving a mark on my face. At least it will heal and not be permanent.
'Lucy take full control now!', I yelled at her.
'Got it', she said going into Alpha mode and tore whatever got in my way apart.
I got up and looked around, my Pack members were fighting the last of the rouges. I turned to see one of the other Pack members being held down and shaking with fear. I charged at the rouge knocking it to the ground, it came at me but I clawed its throat letting its body go limp. We had finally won and were shifting back James walked up to me giving me my clothes, I shifted back and put them on.
"Wow that's one of the worse attacks we've had, do you think they'll be back?", James said as we walked towards my Pack members that were talking to the Blood Moon Pack.
That's when my Mates addictive aroma hit me. s**t! he smelled good. What am I thinking? I need to remind myself what he did to me.
"Seems like your alpha has returned. How are you alpha Collins?", Adam's father said as he shook my hand. Adam and Alice stood next to him with shocked expressions on their faces.
"I'm doing great Mr Blake we're glad you called, we don't want another Pack to be lost to rouges", I said smiling at him.
He smiled back as his wife joined us and jumped at me with a big hug.
"Thank you so much, Sarah... I mean Alpha I'm glad our Pack gets to live another day thanks to you and your Pack", she said as she let me go. I smiled and nodded.
"I'm glad to help", I said as their Pack bowed their heads except for Alice and Adam. Adam had a wicked smirk on his face while Alice was shooting a death glare my way.
"Is there something wrong Miss Lightwood?", I said as everyone looked at Alice.
"I could have handled the rouge by myself", she said getting angry.
"You could've? If I let you handle it you would have been dead", I said as I smiled at her.
'Rip her head off. She shouldn't speak to an Alpha like that', Lucy growled.
'Sarah, Mason won't stop crying I'm worried please come back', my mother mind linked me.
"I must go, my son is being a pain", I said not realizing what had just come out of my mouth. James' eyes widened, Adams' face was blank.
'WHAT THE HELL LUCY!', I yelled.
'I wanted him to know okay. He has a right', she yelled back at me.
'I know but I didn't want him to know, not now. s**t!', I screamed at her.
"You have a baby? Oh, we'll have to come to see him tomorrow when we train", Adams mother said as she smiled at me.
"Of course I'll see you then", I said as we ran back to the Packhouse
Shit! s**t! s**t! What if he finds out? Mason looks so much like Adam. I could hear Mason crying from outside I sprinted inside and up to my Mum and Dad's room. Mum rocked him back and forth trying to calm Mason. My father stood next to her hushing him and rubbing his back.I held my arms out to Mason who held up his little arms, I cradled him in my arms tried to hush him.
"Shh Mason, I'm here Shh. You're ok Shh", I said rocking him back and forth.
"Aww, he just wanted his mummy", mum said as she hugged my dad.
I smiled and looked at Mason who started giggling like crazy.
"Why are you so hyper? Has Nanny been giving you sugar?", I said glaring playfully at my parents.
"No... Maybe just a little bit mixed in with mashed banana like I used to do with you when you where a little baby", Mum said smiling at me acting all innocent.
"Yes and now you'll be up for hours", I said sighing but smiling.
" Well, we can have some Mummy and Mason time. How's that sound?" I asked looking at Mason who just smiled.
"And Grandma! How does that sound?", we broke out into little giggles. That sounded nice.
