“I'm not very hungry.” “Nonsense!” she protested. “I'll be there. You need someone there and so I'm coming.” “I don't know what sort of company I'll be, but thank you,” he said. “No problem, my sweet. Hang tight, I'll be there in a few.” She hung up. Staring at his problem, Bill dropped the hand that held the cell phone. After a moment, he rose and went out to his car. He couldn't leave the mess on the floor for Nemesis to see. The store was two blocks away. He would be able to get the floor cleaned before she would get here, he was certain of it.
