My brow raised in question at the girl’s sudden curiosity about FiFi, and I opened my mouth to reply, but she spoke again before I could.
“I’m being forward again, aren’t I?” she said, and I didn’t even think I needed to answer that as I was sure my face had already given up the answer. “I’m sorry,” she added before saying it was nice to meet me and that she didn’t mean to be weird.
“Alafia,” I said, causing her to look at me again. “My friend’s name is Alafia,” I added before telling her she could stay even though I shouldn’t have since my wolf was glad she was leaving, but her eyes were sad as she apologized. Maybe she really didn’t mean to be weird. Plus, it wasn’t as if she asked for Fifi’s bank pin. She was going to find out what her name was eventually. She said it was a beautiful name before adding that mine was too.
“I’m from Otria,” she said as she settled down on her chair and I told her I was from Otria too, and that seemed to ease up the tension as we finally found less awkward things to talk about. It was nice to meet someone who wasn't from around here for a change.
I asked what she wanted as I was about to order more drinks, also feeling tipsy, but she wasn’t drinking alcohol. She said she didn’t drink anymore and was just having apple juice. I ordered that for her and a cider for myself. I couldn’t even imagine being in a place like this without a real drink. I’d be too depressed.
We were still talking when we heard voices behind us and turned around to find Lake and Azarios. I looked behind them, expecting to see Avery since I thought they went after him, but they said they called him, and he was on his way back so they decided to wait for him here. They joined Gyda and me and ordered more drinks and some snacks for us. Just then, my eye caught a familiar blonde head, and I turned to look, thinking it was Alexi, but he was already going around the corner.
I looked in the direction of the door for Fifi, but she wasn’t there. Maybe it wasn’t him. I muttered to myself, but Lake’s voice snapped my attention back to them as he asked if I was all right. I said I was before asking them to excuse me. I grabbed my phone and went out to call Fifi, but I only took one step after exiting the door and the phone rang. I took it out of the pocket I had slipped it in, thinking it was her but I frowned, looking at the caller ID that said The Priestess.
“Who the f**k is The Priestess?” I muttered to myself, but just then I realized that it wasn’t my phone. I went back inside, but I almost collided with Lake, bringing my phone. I apologized, realizing it was his phone I took, and he said it was okay and gave me mine.
I thanked him, and I opened my mouth to tell him he had missed a call from The Priestess, but he was already gone, and I thought to myself he would see it anyway. So, I proceeded outside and called Fifi. Her phone rang unanswered, and I dialed her number again but decided against it. I wasn’t sure if it was Alexi I saw, and I could have been interrupting. I went back inside, and Lake asked if I wanted to dance. I didn’t see why not, so I let him lead me to the dance floor.
Lake and Azarios were hot, but unlike Alexi and Ky, they had no resemblance. Even the blue of their eyes wasn’t the same. Lake looked familiar, especially when he smiled, but I couldn’t recall where I’d seen him before.
“Where is Gyda?” I asked Azarios, noticing him eyeing another girl. He said she didn’t want to dance and added that she was weird. He started dancing with another girl while Lake made me blush, telling me I was beautiful. I told him he was beautiful too, and it was his turn. But the blushing session was cut short as my eyes caught a familiar brown head walking towards the bar.
“Fifi!” I called out to her, but she didn’t hear me. So, I went after her, and Lake and Azarios followed behind me. I called her again, and she finally heard me and stopped. The guys and I stopped in front of her, and I introduced them. They hugged, but I could see that Fifi wasn’t paying attention. She looked hurt, so I followed her eyes, and everything stopped.
“What the f**k?” I whispered, causing Lake and Azarios to ask me what was happening. I opened my mouth, but Fifi quickly cut in, saying it was nothing before saying she wanted a drink. Azarios suggested we head to the bar, adding that the round was on him. I wrapped my arms around Fifi, tearing my eyes away from the bastard who was making out with the sneaky b***h who was asking me twenty-one questions just a few minutes ago. Was that why? Because she was f*****g him? I quickly gathered that Fifi didn’t want Lake and Azarios to know, so I asked to talk to her outside. That b***h knew her full name. I had to tell her now.

I got the girl off my lap the moment I saw Fifi and her friend leave. I got up and followed after them, making sure they didn’t see me as I headed back to my room. I had no interest in being here anymore. My mission was completed.
I saw her as I made my way across the street and quickly disappeared inside the building headed to my room. The look in her eyes, as she saw me making out with that girl, flashed before my eyes, and I felt that familiar pain in my chest again, but I had to ignore it. I had f****d up, and I needed to fix it.
After hearing her tell her friend that I was the guy who was going to take her virginity, I told myself it wasn’t going to happen. But then I made the mistake of proceeding to the bar instead of going anywhere else or better yet, exiting the club because I had already felt how she affected me. When I heard her friend tell her to invite us over, and she said she was going to, the gentleman in me kicked in, and I went over, lying to myself, telling myself I was not going to lose my cool. But it was game over the moment I sat next to her.
Her sweet scent flooded my nose, and her voice was like music to my ears, while the scent of her arousal turned me inside out. Before I knew it, my d**k was pulsating, and I was done. She made me forget who I was in a space of seconds, and I crumbled into desire. But the moment I was done, the gravity of what I had done came crashing down on me like a ton of bricks and the fact that she was a virgin freaked me out even more.
I realized I needed to do something, and I needed to do it fast. I couldn’t think in my room with her there, even though she was still sleeping. So, I went to the club. I still wasn’t sure what I was going to do when that girl walked up to me and started making eyes at me. She was trying too hard and turned me off and I was about to get up and find another place to sit when I saw Fifi enter, her eyes scanning the place.
I grabbed the girl and kissed her for the show. I hurt Fifi, and I was sorry about that. Maybe later on when she had moved on with someone else, I was going to apologize. But I needed to save myself from her. I couldn't have her think we were dating. I can't date anyone and couldn't let her get close to me again. Her scent flooded my nose the moment I got into my room, and I knew it would not help, but I had to do something. So, I changed the bed and showered before attempting to go to sleep. She was going to hate me for this, but she wasn’t going to kill me. My dad and the council would if they caught word of what I did.
“You are stronger than this, Alexios,” I whispered to myself before turning off the lights, hoping she would drown her sorrows and be over me by dawn.

“Are you sure you don’t want to go?” I asked Fifi, worried for my friend. But she said she was sure before asking for another round. I told Fifi about Gyda and suggested that we go to bed, but she didn’t want to. She said she had been looking forward to this since enrolling here, and she wasn’t going to let Alexi ruin it.
She added that they weren’t dating and that it was just s*x, s*x that she initiated, and she was okay. But I knew she wasn’t. She asked me not to mention what happened in front of Azarios and Lake, saying she didn’t want to be that girl everyone pities. I told her I had her back. We came back to them, and Avery and my brothers also arrived a short moment later, and we’ve been throwing it down. The guys wanted to dance, and now we were on the dance floor.
“Is Fifi okay?” My brother Ford asked, looking back at Fifi with a worried expression. I told him she was fine. She was just drunk before looking back at her too when Ford looked away.
The music was louder at this point, and the atmosphere was charged, but I could see the pain etched on her face, despite the fake smile she wore as she danced. She smiled at me, and I smiled back as she twirled around on the dance floor, her body radiating with fake joy and happiness.
She was good at it too. Her movements were free and fluid, her arms and legs moving in perfect harmony with the music as if all was well. But I just wanted to take her to our room. After a moment, she walked over to me and said she was going to the bathroom. I wanted to go with her, but she told me to stay, so I did as asked.
I didn’t feel like alcohol anymore. Alexi had ruined it for me, so I went over to the bar to get some water. I sat down after that. I wasn’t much of a dancer. I looked around, scanning the room for the reason for our misery, but he was still nowhere to be found, and so was Gyda. He was probably f*****g her now. I watched the guys dancing, and Elly raised his glass at me when he caught me looking at them.
Avery walked over to me and ordered himself a drink. He asked if I was okay, and I told him I was. Avery and I hadn’t addressed our situation yet, and this wasn’t a good time as he seemed as though he didn’t want my brothers to know that something happened between us.
He asked where Fifi was, and I told him she went to the bathroom. We conversed for a while, talking about everything but us, and the guys came to join us at the bar. They were still throwing down, and for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out how they were even louder than this music.
Watching their interaction with Avery, I realized they were tight, and my guard started going down around them. I felt something vibrate in Azarios’s jacket next to me, and it was his phone. I grabbed it and gave it to him, but my eyes were quick to see that it was the same person who called Lake earlier on. The Priestess and I wondered who this Priestess was. Did they go to church? I checked the time, realizing that it had been more than twenty minutes since Fifi left, so I told Avery I was going to check on her, worried.
I headed to the bathroom, and my heart immediately sank as I heard Fifi’s voice crying the moment I entered. “Oh, Goddess Fifi,” I muttered, walking to the last stall, but I frowned hearing another voice inside the stall. I pushed the door open without warning, and my eyes widened, shocked to find Fifi falling apart in Gyda's arms.
“What the hell are you doing here?”
