Willa isn’t in the basement when Jonah and Sandy find their ways downstairs. She’s in the kitchen, munching on a bag of thin and salty chips after her pot marathon with Jake in the basement. She hums something from a Disney movie. Jonah sees that she’s beginning to cook Christmas dinner, pouring a bottle of ginger ale over a hunk of ham while reaching for chips in a greasy looking bag that sits to her right on the counter. “Good. You two are here just in time. I need recruits to help me,” she tells the pair. “Sandy, can you please peel potatoes? And Jonah, can you find the bag of carrots in the refrigerator and peel them?” Both Jonah and Sandy agree, beginning their tasks.
