Chapter 2

SIXTEEN YEARS LATER. She sat in front of the mirror, having her hair done by her favorite maid, Chelsea. Her aunt sat on her bed, explaining the conference she had to attend and how important it was. "Will the Castellos be there?" Aiyana asked. "You know you don't really have to do this." She turned her head in her aunt's direction, ruining her almost perfectly done hair. "I might have been really young, Aunt Theresa, but I heard everything and I saw with my eyes. King Castello killed my family, and so he has to pay." "I don't believe you should destroy yourself in the name of revenge." Aiyana's memory flashed back to the day of the accident, to the time when it had been a week since she was unconscious, to the time when she woke up and her mother was struggling to live, and how her aunt had to come time and time again because Aiyana refused to go with her. The Castellos never showed up even once, and she watched on the news as they held press conferences and discussed the new opening of their wine companies across the states and outside the country. Her father was already gone. All she had was her struggling mother. She chewed her lips until she tasted blood as she remembered her mother's last words clearly: "Destroy the Castellos." Her aunt, who was her father's little sister, got into an arranged marriage with Stephan Donatello, a popular successful company in the states. Luck was on her side as they both fell in love. They adopted Aiyana and treated her equally with their son Adrian. Aiyana turned back to the mirror, mouthing a quick apology to Chelsea, who continued to do her hair. While putting on her pearl earrings, she addressed her aunt. "He and his wife definitely killed my family. They had a hand in it. What kind of child would I be if I didn't see to it that they suffer?" She put on her Cartier Phoenix Décor Secret Watch and her La Peregrina Pearl Necklace to match her pearl earrings, all of which cost a fortune. Nothing was too much for the Donatello Billionaires. Her father, before he died, bought shares from the Donatellos so that his daughter could have something of hers when she grew apart from whatever he also had to give her. He thought of her in every possible way, and she felt it would be of a bastard nature if she couldn't do anything for them as well. "Just please be careful," Theresa smiled. "Aren't I always?" Aiyana beamed softly. "Not really," her aunt mumbled, remembering how troublesome she was in her teens. She always looked for the opportunity to come into contact with the Castellos and cause trouble. However, she came out victorious and unscathed. Like the time she threw a stink bomb at their car, it flew right into King's window, and before they could get her, she had already gotten away with it. "Did you say something?" "Me?" Her aunt feigned ignorance. "Absolutely not." She continued. "According to what I heard, King will be sending his son Dominic to attend the conference instead. So whatever mini-attacks you have, you can display on his son." Aiyana had met Dominic a lot of times when they were children. They always fought each other. Dominic was the heir of the Castellos, and she had watched him do interviews on the news. He had grown pretty well, she thought in her mind. To think she had a stupid crush on him, the son of the man who caused her parents to fall. She felt appalled. Not only had he grown into a man, but he had also grown into a man who had been caught on camera with different women. He was known to be a heartbreaker, a date and drop. No serious relationships. She thought to herself what a stupid child she must've been to imagine a future with him. "I'm not throwing any stupid attacks. I'll use Dominic for my revenge." "You can't be serious." She scoffed. "Watch me." "Aiyana, think this through." Her aunt was worried about her. She wanted Aiyana to move on from her past. Nevertheless, she knew Aiyana was incredibly stubborn and would only do whatever she thought was right for her. "I just did." She replied. He liked to play around with women, all she had to do was to target him and make sure he becomes hers at least until she's done using him. "How many days will the conference be?" "Five." "In five days, I'll have Dominic Castello." She exhaled. She was unsure about her plan, but that was her best option. She had to leave a mark on the Costellos. Aiyana had grown into a beautiful woman. She had dated a lot too, but got bored of them really fast. Any man she found interesting at first glance, she'd go for them, and the moment she got bored, she'd drop them. Her aunt and uncle were worried about her nonchalant attitude and tried to set her up on blind dates, none of which she went for. She even dressed up Chelsea as her and made her go on those dates. They had decided that Aiyana seemed like a lost cause, romantically, and resorted to praying that she'd find a suitable match soon. Aiyana was confident in her beauty and charm that she could have Dominic if she wanted to. "Whatever you do, be careful. If they could betray your parents like that, they can do anything to you." "I know." She nodded. Aiyana stood up from the chair and walked up to the full-length mirror in the room. She adored herself. She was confident. Her hair perfectly held up with pearl pins. Her neck, fully adorned with a pearl necklace, had a fusion of red diamonds to match her red velvet ankle-length dress. Her green eyes shined in the mirror. She has always gotten the complement of looking just like her mother, Katherine. Nervous, yet focused, she went back to her dressing table and picked up her Cloud eau de parfum spray, used it, and mixed other perfumes with it to create her own unique scent. "I'm ready." Her aunt looked up from her tablet. "Good, because the private jet is ready." Aiyana was going to the Billionaire Annual Charity Conference for three reasons: to increase the respect of the Donatellos, to capture the attention of Dominic Castello, and because Adrian Donatello hated social events.
