ALPHA JAX’S POV.
I couldn't believe it was happening again, that she had done it yet again. I was laughing and despite chiding myself deep down, I couldn't stop myself. I didn't laugh much, talk much, nor did I bother myself with people. But here I was again, I knew I had to get rid of this nonsense.
I rarely focused on someone long enough to mess up their world, just like she was saying. But at the same time, I couldn't help it. It felt as if she had a hold on something inside me, something I didn't think could be touched by her.
For the most part, she was an enigma, making me do things I thought I couldn't. The laughter continued to echoe through the room, and it sounded so f*****g unfamiliar, even to myself. I was caught up in the absurdity of it all that she stopped crying, raising her face in confusion.
"What's funny?" She asked, her eyes were still shiny with tears and her voice was shaky. With a cough, I finally regained control of myself, instinctively wiping off the smile on my face.
"You're funny." I muttered, catching myself as though the laugh was just a momentary lapse.
The confusion on her face deepened and she crossed her arms, demanding an explanation, yet again.
"You're not answering my question." She said, staring up at me. But I was silent, assessing and contemplating if I should sympathise with her or unleash the cold intent within.
But my subconscious whispered a reminder, telling me that there was no pity for a woman who dared to disrupt my deal. Remembering how she had run her mouth before the council of elders still made my heart twist painfully. Every trace of warmth vanished immediately and I replied.
"You look and sound amusing, with such boldness on your face. You have the balls to barge into my room and rant about your situation. You've all been shitty, and I've got news for you... I don't give a f**k!"
She froze for a moment as the words sank in. Seeing that she was caught up and there was no way out, her jaw tightened.
"Why am I here if you hate me so much? Why don't you just let me go, return me to my parents!"
She lamented, her eyes already filling up with more tears. I smiled at the sight, knowing I had just started living up to my threat. She would beg for the gift of death when I was done with her f*****g dumbass.
"Have you forgotten what I told you earlier, young woman? Have you?" I asked, watching as her palms flew to her face, wiping off the tears.
"Welcome to hell. This is your living nightmare and you're not going to escape it until I'm done with you. That is if your weary, weak bones will be able to carry you that far." I whispered, and despite the fact that my tone had fallen an octave, I made sure she heard it.
She raised her head instantly, glaring up and trying to say something but I cut her off with a wave of my hand. I could see the terror spread across her face. It was mixed with pure anger and hatred. But that was exactly what I craved from my victims, utter fear and domination.
"You can cry all you want, you can hit your head on the wall if you like. But you're going nowhere, brown hair."
She gritted her teeth, staring murderously at me, but seeing her made me a bit angry.
The fact that her parents had switched the person I requested coupled with her ruining the crucial deal that would have granted me an unending respite from the constant disturbance of the council all made me mad.
The price must be paid, and I wasn't going to stop until I had broken her, and she had resigned listlessly to the hell she was in. I took a step towards her, resisting the urge to smack the b***h in the face.
"This is the beginning of your suffering. You haven't seen anything yet, trust me." I reminded her.
She retreated, her gaze floundering to the floor as she did everything to avoid my gaze.
I continued to walk towards her, relishing in her fear until she had her back against the wall and couldn't move any further. I got closer and closer until our bodies were inches apart and our faces were so close she could feel my breath on her face.
"What is going on?" I hear my wolf say through the mindlink, making the rage intensify, knowing he was confused if this was being a serious moment or a romantic one.
"Don't even get me started!" I growled in response before focusing my gaze at the scared girl in front of me. The air in the room began to thicken with each passing moment, and yes, it was far from anything sensual.
It was a volatile mix of the anger I felt and the frustration that she was dealing with. The silence was so loud and the tension, so thick that it felt like there was an impеnding eruptions of a volcano that would consume everything in its path.
The whole while, my fists kept clenching and unclenching involuntarily and I leaned in a bit, snaking my face behind her face so my lips were close to her ears. I could feel her heart pounding loudly.
"You have no idea what you did when you stood up to run your mouth, brown hair. This is what you asked for, and you're going to get it. And I'm going to make it clear to you again, you're not going anywhere. I'm not saying i'm going to run after you, or have my guards follow your every move but there are prices prices pay for everything you do."
The look on her face shifts, and the countless moments of vulnerability and true fear keep coming again and again.
"Plea...Please" She exhaled, swallowing. Her words were ridden with stutters.. "J-just let me go."
I smirked at the things I made her feel. I couldn't help the smirk of satisfaction that crossed my face next before I replied again.
"Let me make it clear to you, brown hair. Escape is not an option, and even if you manage to run and escape, the consequences will be terrible, and I'm not sure your young heart will be able to handle the cruelty you will witness. Even though you won't be able to escape, if you try to, I'm going to wipe out your Pack, and everyone dear to you. I will make you watch their heads severed, their fingers chopped and their eyeballs plucked from their sockets; and when it's done, I'll present their heads to you in pikes, so you will never forgive yourself as long as you live. I know you've heard tales about me, tales of my ruthless nature. And just to make it clear to you again, I don't care if I stain my hands with blood."
Stepping away and walking back a bit, with the tension broken, I continued.
"You've got two options then. The fate of your wretched Pack lies in your hands and you are welcome to play a monkey trick when you feel like, just be prepared for the consequences."
