Chapter 9 - The Royal Wedding

Tessa and Kevin had their first night in the suite room of the hotel parker's inn. On the next day they came to our home to stay with us. They decided to go for their honeymoon after my wedding. I made them feel relaxed by giving them the master bedroom I have been using. They denied it. But I insisted them by saying that I will be comfortable in Tessa's room for one week till my wedding. So they finally agreed. 

My family had nothing to do more other than selecting their dress and accessories as they already had invited all our guests. My whole family will be wearing designer wears to match the Cooper's royal wedding. My mom and dad are going to wear such expensive dress for the first time. Mom and dad are striving really hard to match the standards of the Coopers.

I was sitting in the living room watching TV when my phone rang. I took the phone and found that the call is from Mrs. Cooper my mother-in-law. Daniel asked my phone during one of our shopping day and added the contacts of his relatives. It is the first time she's calling me and will be the second time she would talk to me. I remembered the first time she spoke to me on the day of press conference. It was really a bad encounter with her. I just hope this time she speaks in a good way. I answered the call.

"Hello, good morning Mrs Cooper. How are you?"

"Hazel I will be waiting for you at our hotel. Be there in an hour." And without any word she hung up. What an arrogant lady. She neither wished me back nor said a goodbye, just ordered me to be present in front of her. I called John my driver to get ready and told mom about Mrs Cooper's call. She warned me to keep calm in front of Mrs Cooper. She made me promise that I will not say anything which will make Mrs Cooper angry. I quickly got ready and went down to my car which was waiting for me in front of the apartment.

I reached the hotel within 30 minutes drive. I went straight to the reception and asked for Mrs Cooper. The receptionist greeted me as Mrs Cooper and then made a call and asked me to wait. After few minutes Harold came and asked me to follow him. He took me to the 6th floor and went straight to the end of the corridor and I followed him. He stopped in front of room number 645. He told me to enter and stood outside.

I knocked at the door and heard a voice say come in. I opened the door and entered a really big luxurious suite room. I looked around and found Mrs Cooper sitting on the sofa. I smiled at her. She just winked and told me to sit opposite of her. When I took my seat she called Harold. He came in and said

“Yes Mrs Cooper.”

“Harold, tell Dr Maxwell and her team to come.” Mrs Cooper said.

I wondered why she needs a doctor now. I thought it will take time to call a doctor and so I decided to ask Mrs Cooper about the matter for which she called me. I was about to ask her and that’s when we heard a gentle knock on the door. 

“We need a thorough check up to make sure that you are fit to conceive. After all you are going to bear the heir of Cooper family.” Mrs Cooper said.

I can't believe my ears. She herself being a woman doesn't understand how it feels when someone questions your womanhood. I just want to yell at her. But my mom’s words pulled me back. I have promised my mom that I will not say anything to make Mrs Cooper angry. I can't give away my family's happiness. It's better to keep silent and follow whatever is happening.

Dr Maxwell came in with two nurses. Dr Maxwell was an enthusiastic lady probably in early forties. She greeted us and asked me to go inside and lay down on the bed after removing my jeans and panties. I did as she asked. I felt weird as I am lying down half naked in front of someone for the first time. I have no idea what to do. So I just laid down closing my eyes. 

Dr Maxwell asked me to open my legs wide to check my secret parts. I closed my eyes but I could feel her touching my v****a. She suddenly pushed her two fingers inside me which made me yell out loudly. She patted me and said

“Your seal is not broken. Don’t worry it’s just a check up. Now you can put on your jeans.” I stood up and dressed up with a sigh. I thought to myself that now I could leave and that when I heard Dr Maxwell saying

“Remove your blouse and bra.” When I looked at her awkwardly she said.

“Don't worry, I just want to examine your breasts. Just to check if it is alright.”

Hesitatingly I unbuttoned my blouse and unclasped my bra. She then examined my breasts pressing it with her palm. She also checked my blood pressure and took my blood samples for further examination. When the doctor left after examining me I came out of the bedroom. Mrs Cooper stood up and walked towards me and said

“You are being married to Cooper family. After marriage you are expected to give a heir to the Cooper family as soon as possible. We would expect the news to come before you return from your honeymoon.” Saying this she left without at looking me even for once. She didn't bother what I felt. The check-up she did was already a shock to me and her words became the storm to blow me away. I stood there dumbstruck. I knew that they are just treating me as a child producing machine. I hated everything- from the time I entered the elevator to Mrs Cooper who just left me here dump folded. 

Days flew by as if turning pages of a book. Today is my wedding day. Besides me everyone else is happy. Robin came to me when I was alone.

“Ria, just be happy. Believe me you are going to be in the safe hands who will treasure you as the most valuable gift. People around you are not bad as you think. You will realise it soon. Cherish what you have dear. Live your life happily with the man who loves you the most.” He said and kissed my forehead and left. I wish that his words were true and all my worries are in vein.

Stylist came to get me ready and in a couple of hours she had done her magic on me. Finally when she finished I looked at my reflection in the mirror and found a beautiful version of me. It might be the first time I am admiring myself. Tessa was one of my bridesmaids. Her sister-in-law convinced my mom to be one of the bridesmaids too. My only friends who had been with me from my school days- Jasmine and Pauline came from London to attend the wedding. They are also my bridesmaid.

It’s my wedding day and I am really excited. I am at the altar waiting for my bride. My four cousins took the role of my best man. I am wearing black wedding suit with a diamond brooch. I can't stop smiling as I see my bride coming. She looked angelic in that white wedding gown. My heart started pounding loud. I know I am losing my cold look when I see her face. It’s a feeling I had never experienced before. I am in love with this girl who is going to be my wife within few minutes.

Mr Mathews handed over his daughter’s hand to me. I looked at her without covering my emotions under my coldness as I always do. Her emerald green eyes sparkled with emotions I couldn’t understand. I promised myself in my heart.

“I will never leave this hand. I will never let a tear to form in these beautiful eyes. I will be the happiest person in this world if she is with me.”

“Do you Daniel Stuart Cooper take this woman Hazel Maria Mathews to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself solely unto her for as long as you both shall live?” Priest asked me

“I do” I replied

“Do you Hazel Maria Mathews take this man Daniel Stuart Cooper to be you are lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and health, to love, honour and obey, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself solely unto him for as long as you both shall live?” Priest asked Hazel and there was silence. After it seemed for so long, she answered.

“I do”

“I now pronounce you the husband and wife. You can now kiss the bride.” Priest announced which was welcomed with applause from the guests. I took her and kissed with all passion and love I felt for her at the very first moment I saw her in the elevator. 

I felt like I am the happiest man in the world. After the wedding we headed straight to the reception venue which was one of our hotels. After receiving greetings and blessings from thousands of guest we both felt exhausted. Finally, only the Cooper family and Mathews family were left. 

“Honey, mom and dad loves you so much. We will miss you. Enjoy your night.” Hazel’s mom said to her and then addressed me.

“Son, we will be waiting for you both to come over in few days.”

“No, that's not possible. They will not be here for the next two months.” My mom cut Mrs Mathews. 

“They are going straight for their honeymoon now for two months. Dani had been given permission to take this break for his powerful entry into politics. He will probably stand in the next general election.” I could see shock in Hazel's eyes. I know she won’t be happy to be with me for two whole months. But I promise I will make you happy.
