Chapter Eleven - I need to get to him

1274 Words
Scarlett I am happy Caleb has managed to find me, but they struck him really hard when he got into this room. I hope he is doing OK. I could do with Jacob coming to see me to get some information from him about how and where they are holding Caleb. I am still struggling with loosening these ropes on my wrists but knowing that Caleb is here makes me try harder to get freed. My wrists were burning pretty badly because I was rubbing them while trying to get out. I could feel something wet on my wrist. These ropes must be cutting into me. “Well, that was a surprise,” PJ said with happiness in his voice as he came into the room. “Shut up, PJ!!” I growled out at him. “I just didn’t expect him to ever come for you.” He laughed. “Where is he? I want to see him!” I shouted at him as I wriggled in the chair to try and get out. “Calm down, Scarlett. You will hurt yourself.” PJ said, holding his hands out towards me. “Get the hell away from me! I f*****g hate you after what you did to him!” I shouted.  PJ didn’t seem like he gave a single damn about what I was saying or what he did. Bastard!  “Karma is a b***h,” he laughs.  There was evilness to his laugh.  “Well, if that is the case, you are going to have hell coming at you, and mark my word, I will be the one bringing it down on you,”  I was getting out of here, and I was getting closer. And PJ was the first one on my damn list. I would love to put a bullet in his head, but that would make me as bad as him. I will be causing him some sort of pain!  “Whatever makes you feel better about yourself,” he laughs. “Could you maybe just f**k OFF and get someone to bring me a drink and a sandwich.” I grinned at him. “Your wish is my command.” He said, storming away. I don’t actually need anything, but the rope is loosening, and I certainly didn’t want him here if it fell to the ground. As the door slammed shut behind him, I wriggled harder, feeling the rope loosening more. The pain in my wrists was getting intense, but I need to get out of here and get to Caleb. I could hear chatter outside the door. I could hear both male and female voices. I am hoping I get Charlene back in. She might help me out some more. Then the door opened, and when I turned to look, I saw it was Jacob. “You needed a drink and something to eat.” Jacob smiled. “Not really. I just wanted to get rid of PJ.” I smiled back at him, and we both let out a small chuckle at the same time. “I could really do with the water being poured over my wrists as they are burning.” “Sure, if that is what you want.” He said as he began unscrewing the bottle and walking behind me. “Scarlett, what on earth has happened to you? You are bleeding.” Jacob said with a shocked tone. “I’m not going to sit here and do nothing, am I? Can you please pour the water over them now?” “Yes, of course, I can,” Jacob said as he began pouring the water on my wrists. The relief was tremendous. I could feel them cooling down already. “Thank you,” I sighed in relief.  “Scarlett, if you are getting out of here, you better do it soon. I heard them talking. They are sending the big guy back in within the next hour,” he whispered.  “How many are outside?” I asked.  “There are two guys outside your door. Another two where Caleb is being held. Plus, at least another four walking around and two outside,” he said.  “That is fine. I can take them all,” I said confidently.  “Are you sure?” he asked. “Yes, I am trained for this,” I said.  “They have guns, Scarlett,” he said, concerned. “Trust me, Jacob, I can do this. Now, what's the chance you can untie me before the big man appears.” I asked. “Since I am on your side, I suppose it can be done,” Jacob said as he began to untie me. “What? You will actually help me?” I said, shocked. “Yes, but I do have some conditions; Scarlett or I will tie you back up myself.” He said. “Ok, I’m listening,” I told him. “You cannot just go running out into the hallway. You need to stay in this room for another thirty minutes or so as there is backup coming in to help get both you and Caleb out. If it sounds like anyone is going to enter this room, you sit back down with your hands behind you and just hold the ropes in your hand.” He said as he stood up and walked back around to the front of me. “What on earth is going on here, Jacob?” I asked. “Just know that both you and Caleb will be out of here very soon.” He grinned at me. Wait? What? I am confused. How does Jacob know there is backup coming?  “How do you know this information?” I questioned. “It is a long-assed story, one which I will tell to both you and Caleb when we are out of here and safe,” he said, “Trust me, OK?”  I nod because I feel that no matter how many times I ask, he isn’t telling me.  “I need to go, but sit tight, OK?”, “And remember what I told you,”  “Promise,” I smile.  I have no damn clue what is happening right now. Is Jacob some undercover cop or something? Surely not because it seems like he has been running with this gang since he was a teenager. I need to know what is going on, but I will do as he said and wait here for the time being.   I was pacing the floor, back and forth, but I was trying my best to be quiet, so I could hear if anyone came close to the door. The last thing I need is PJ or the big guy coming in here and finding me up on my feet. I just played around with the rope that had me tied up whilst thinking about what I am going to do to PJ when I get out of this room. I might even wrap this rope around his neck for what he has done to Caleb. I could hear some commotion outside, so I crept over to the door so that I could hear clearly. It sounded like a lot of shouting and some screaming. Wait that sounds like Caleb shouting. I pressed my ear up against the door, and that was when I heard it. “AHHH, get away from me.” That was definitely Caleb’s voice. I could hear shouting. I need to get to him now.
