Caleb
“Where the f**k is she?” I said, barging in.
This probably isn’t the best idea I have ever had, but right now, I don’t care.
“You took your time, Logan, or should I call you Caleb now?”
I heard from behind me. I knew straight away who it was—the top man of the gang, Braxton.
“You have me, now let her go,” I hissed, turning to face him.
I am not backing down to this bastard!
“Or what?” he laughed, “What are you going to do by yourself?”
“Oh, don’t f*****g push me, not when it comes to Scarlett,” I said, standing my ground, “You have no idea what I am capable of. And who said I was alone?”
Braxton let out the most extensive and loudest laugh I have heard in quite some time. But, of course, he knows I am bullshitting him.
“Didn’t see you barging in with anyone by your side.” He said.
“Just because no one is by my side doesn't mean I am alone,” I smirked at him.
“Let’s stop playing around, Caleb, you know, just like I do that you are with no one.” Braxton clapped his hands and laughed in my face.
I didn’t know what to do now, I had this great idea that I would get Scarlett back without any issues, but since I am currently on my own, I don’t think it will work the way I thought.
“Caleb.” Scarlett’s voice yelled.
She must be really close to where I am as her voice seemed really loud. I need to get to the room she is in.
“Where is she?” I ask.
“What makes you think I am going to tell you that?” he laughs.
“This is nothing to do with her. This is between you and me,”
“She is with you. Does she know all your dirty secrets? I am sure if she did, she wouldn’t be with you. She is gorgeous. Maybe I should see if she needs a real man,” he laughed.
With those words coming from his lips, something snapped in me. Before he saw it come, I went for him and punched him with all my strength, and it worked because I knocked him out. There were a few other guys in the room, and they came at me. I was in flight or fight mode, and I was fighting. I did the same to them.
I know me having the upper hand will not last long, but I don’t care. I need to see her and make sure she is OK. I caught sight of Jacob walking out of a room, and he looked at me. She must be up there. Jacob looked on edge.
I flung my body weight forward and barged through two guys that were in my way, I ran up the corridor, and I saw Jacob moving over to the side as if to let me past. I grabbed the door frame and swung my body around.
“Scarlett,” I shouted.
She just stared at me with a sad look in her eyes. She was sitting on a chair with her arms behind her back. She must be tied up. I made my way over to get to Scarlett when I saw her mouth open.
“Nooo,” she shouted.
Then I felt a clatter on the back of my head, and I began stumbling forward. I could see the ground getting closer to my face then everything went black.
I could still hear muffled voices. I heard Scarlett shouting and squealing, and then I was gone.

I woke up, my head pounding, and everything was blurry. I tried to move, but I couldn’t. They had tied me up also. I couldn’t see what was going on around me because my eyes were covered.
“Scarlett!” I shout, trying to get out of the ties.
“She isn’t here. She is in a different room, Logan,”
I recognized the voice. It was Charlene.
“Char, who else is here with you?” I asked.
I hear footsteps, and my blindfold gets removed.
“No one, they have asked me to stay here until they come back,” she said, “Are you OK?”
“Char, what are you doing? Why are you here? The last time I saw you, you wanted nothing to do with them,” I sigh.
“Things changed,” she said sadly, “I tried, but then I ended in too deep, and I can’t get out.”
“How is Scarlett? Who is with her?” I asked panickily.
“Calm down, Jacob is with her. He told me you, and he had spoken recently, and he is trying to help.” She said quietly.
“OK. Can you untie me now so I can get to Scarlett?” I pleaded.
“You know I can’t do that. I will end up tied up with you both.” She said, shaking her head.
I needed to try and get out of here. I could maybe try and get her to loosen my hands slightly. Then I could try and wriggle out. I need to get in to see Scarlett. Who knows what they have done to her after what I did. I don’t want to see Braxton again anytime soon. He will go through me after I punched him.
I still have no clue who is on the inside of this gang, like Nate’s dad said. Because whoever the hell it was, they weren’t doing a damn good job!
“Logan, I wish I could help, but I can’t put myself or my family at risk like that,” she whispered.
“I know. I understand that. I go by Caleb now,”
“Yes, Scarlett said that,” she replied, “How do you two plan on getting out of here? Because you know, as well as me, if you don’t, they are going to kill both of you,” she whispered.
“Can you loosen my hands? And I will try to get out myself when you aren’t here?”
“I don’t know if that will help. I did it for Scarlett, but it hasn’t done any good for her,” she sighs.
“Come on, Charlene, I won’t ask you to do anything else for me,” I said with a positive tone to my voice.
“OK.” She sighed, then walked around the back of my chair and began loosening the rope.
“You cannot breathe a word of this to anyone, and I mean anyone, because if this gets out, I will be done for.” She said quietly in my ear.
“I promise my lips are sealed. We have been through a lot over the years. Charlene and I will not throw you under the bus for doing this.” I said, trying to turn my head to look at her to see I meant what I said.
“After I do this, Caleb, I will leave the room, and you probably won’t see me again.”
“Thank you, Charlene, I mean it,” I said as she walked to be in front of me.
I smiled at her, and she did the same. We both knew that this would be the end for us, but we have had many good years together. All I want to do is get out of this chair and get my girl back.
“See you around, Caleb,” Charlene said as she started to walk towards the door to leave.
“Sure thing Char.” I smiled even though she didn’t turn to look. She just went straight out the door and closed it behind her.
I need to concentrate on getting free from here. And I will! I thought the team would have been here by now that Nate's dad promised me. For now, I am on my own!
