Chapter Twelve - Don't know who they are messing with

Scarlett
He was in pain, and I wasn’t waiting for any f*****g backup! I keep the ropes in my hand because they may come in handy and walk straight out. The moment I did, I was met with two guys.
“How the f**k did you get out?” one hissed.
He came for me, standing tall and trying to act like a tough man. Yeah, no! He has no damn clue who he is dealing with now that I am free. I punched him right in the throat, and he reached for his gun, but he wasn’t getting to that. I kicked him right in the balls and got behind him, wrapping the rope around his neck. I was watching the other guy, and he was going for his gun too. I take the gun from the first guy and shoot his buddy with it on the leg. They had silencers on them, which worked well for me. I tighten the rope around his neck and pull enough to make him pass out.
I’m not looking to kill everyone but just knock them out or injure them enough so they can’t come after me when I walk away. From what Jacob told me, I should be seeing another two guys as soon as I go around the corner. I peeked around the corner; that’s when I saw three guys standing outside a room. That must be where Caleb is.
When one of the big guys moved a little, I saw Jacob was the third guy standing with the two guarding the door. He will not be happy when he sees me sneaking around this corner, but I can’t waste any more time. I still have the gun, and I get it ready and aim it straight towards them as I turn the corner. I made my way towards them quietly, one step at a time. I noticed Jacob’s eyes locking with mine, and he took a few steps backwards.
I reached the back of one of the guys and lifted the gun to be level with his head.
“Let’s all stay calm,” I said quietly.
“What the f**k is going on?” The guy with the gun at the head said as he tried to turn his head.
“Don’t move. I just need you to unlock this door.” I said.
“What makes you think I am going to do that? You are surrounded,” he laughed.
“You mean the two guys that were guarding me? They are unavailable, sorry. Now open the f*****g door before I blow your damn brains out,”
I kept an eye on the other guy. I don’t need to worry about Jacob.
“And you try anything, I will not hesitate to shoot you either,” I warned.
“You should do as she says,” Jacob said, pretending to be nervous, “The b***h is crazy and has probably killed more people than us put together,” he added.
He had to play along, or he would be in danger. I understand that.
“Why don’t you tell me where the keys are, and I will unlock the door,” Jacob said as he held out his hand.
“f**k off, Jacob.” The big guy shouted in his face.
Fuck this, I swung my arm and smashed the guy on the back of his head with the gun. I watched him slump to the ground and just lay there face first. Not as tough as he thought.
“Keys or you will be joining your friend on the floor.” I grinned at the other guard.
He went into his pocket and pulled out a large set of keys and started to fumble with them to find the right one.
“Hand them over,” Jacob said.
He jingled the keys and passed them to Jacob.
“I didn’t want to hit your friend here, but I will have no problem in doing the same or worse to you if you don’t do as I say,” I said, “now turn around so I can tie your hands.”
The guard turned and faced his back to me, placing one hand on top of the other, he stood, and I tied his wrists together. Jacob opened the door, and I rushed inside. Caleb was tied to a chair, beat and bloody.
“Oh my God, Caleb,” I whimpered, rushing to him.
“Scarlett,” he whispered.
“Yes, I am right here,” I said.
I was beyond angry now. I was f*****g raging. I am going get these bastards for what they have done to him.
“I am going to kill every single one of them,” I hissed and headed for the door again.
Jacob grabbed me, stopping me.
“That will not solve anything,” he said.
“Look at him, Jacob! Look at what they have done to him!” I sobbed.
“Scarlett, I am OK, my love,” he manages to stammer out.
“You most definitely are not ok. You are bleeding so much right now.” I said as I crouched down beside him.
“Let’s get him untied and upon his feet Scarlett,” Jacob said.
“I will keep an eye on the door, Jacob. You get him out of the ropes.”
“Look at you two getting on so well.” Caleb laughed, then groaned in pain.
“Just concentrate on not making yourself sorer than you are now,” I said as I stared at him intensely.
“Yeah, you are right, Scarlett.” He smiled.
“That’s you ready to get up on your feet. Hold on to my shoulder, and I will help you get up.” Jacob said.
“Let’s get him moving around, Jacob, as he will need to be on his feet to get out of here.”
“I will do my very best, Scarlett,” Jacob said as he helped Caleb get up out of the chair.
It was breaking my heart seeing him like this. I hate that he is in pain. It just makes me want to get him out of here more. I didn’t even have anything to clean him up with or pain medication.
“Scarlett, are you OK?” Caleb asked as he looked at me.
His two eyes were barely opened because of what they did to him.
“Don’t worry about me. I am fine,” I said.
“When is backup coming?” I ask Jacob.
“They should be on their way,” he said.
Caleb looked at us confused, and Jacob told him the same thing I did. He will tell him when we are all out of here, but for now, we need to get Caleb walking around without stumbling over. I stay closest to the door with the gun, aiming in case anyone comes through the door.
I could hear quite a few footsteps, but they sounded a wee bit away from the room we were in.
“SCARLETT!!” I heard PJ shouting.
“s**t, we are going to have some company soon. You two need to get ready for this.” I said as I looked at them both briefly.
“I can help Scarlett,” Jacob said. “I took the guns from the guys outside.”
“Nice one Jacob, I hope you can use it,” I said.
“Of course, I can,” he states.
We prepared ourselves for whatever was coming our way. I make sure that Caleb is behind us because he is in no state to fight. And we were going to have to fight like hell to get ourselves out of here, alive.
