Chapter Thirteen - No fear

1387 Words
Caleb I felt useless standing behind them both, not being able to do anything, but every part of me was in agony. They beat the hell out of me. The way I see it is if you need someone tied up while you attack them, it makes you nothing but a damn coward. It wasn’t a fair fight. But, then again, they don’t know how to fight fair.  “Let me help,” I said from behind them.  “No! You are hurt enough,” Scarlett said firmly.  “Scarlett, the two of you can’t do this alone. You are outnumbered,”  “Caleb, we got this, and I am ready for every single one of them after what they have done to you,” she said sadly.  This was all my fault! Neither of them should be putting themselves at risk because of me. They are going to kill Jacob the moment they realise he has gone against them.  “Do yourself a favour for once in your life and listen to what you’ve been told to do!” Jacob laughed as he turned his head towards me. “Point taken. I will just sit my arse down on the chair in the furthest corner in the room.” I laughed and hobbled over to sit down. Scarlett turned to look at me and put her finger to her pursed lips, telling me to be quiet, then she did the same towards Jacob. Scarlett was the closest person to the door, so she must be able to hear something. I could see her begin to walk backwards to be alongside Jacob. They both crouched down and pointed the guns towards the closed door.   I’m not sure I am ready for the c*****e that will be in this room, but I’m just glad to have Scarlett by my side and Jacob. “Scarlett,” PJ yelled. His voice was so clear. He must be outside the room. Taking a few deep breaths, I was just hoping we would come out of this in one piece. Suddenly, the door barged opened, and six guys came in, including PJ.  “Wrong move, darling,” he said to Scarlett.  “No, the wrong move was on all of you. You made the biggest mistakes of your lives when you took me and did what you did to Caleb,” Scarlett said firmly.  “Do you have a death wish, you stupid b***h,” one guy said.  “Don’t f*****g talk to her like that,” I growled.  “What are you going to do about it?” he laughed.  He went to come at me, but he didn’t get the chance because Scarlett stood in front of him. “Back the f**k off,” she hissed.  “Or what?” he laughs.  “Come at me, I f*****g dare you,” she pushed, “Or are you scared because I am not tied to a damn chair?”  He dove at her, and I was about to jump up, but in a matter of seconds, Scarlett had him knocked out on the floor. That’s my girl! “I warned you to back off, did I not?” Scarlett said as she stood towering above the guy. Her gun was facing down towards him as she stared him straight in the eyes. She was definitely not messing about. The look in her eyes was very dark. “Calm down, Scarlett,” PJ said as he walked over towards Scarlett. “f**k off, PJ and stop moving.” She said as she pointed her gun towards PJ’s chest. PJ stopped in his tracks and just looked around himself. He seems uneasy, and as for the men he has with him, well, they don’t look any better.  “Jacob, can you get the gun off this guy I have on the floor?” Scarlett asked him. “Sure thing Scarlett,” Jacob responded as he leant down to get the gun. After he took it off the guy, he passed it over to me, and Scarlett moved back from the big guy so he could get up.  “My advice to you would be to get as far away from me as possible because next time, I won’t be this friendly.” Scarlett scowled at the guy. He walked over towards PJ and the others and just walked straight past them. “Where the hell do you think you are going?” PJ shouted after him. “She’s a psycho mate. I’m out of here.” The big guy walked away, and we heard a door slamming behind him. “Who is next?” Scarlett said with happiness in her voice. Scarlett was showing no fear! And I know it isn’t the time or place but watching her kick ass like this turned me on a little.  “How about you and I, PJ?” Scarlett smirked.  “That is what these guys are hired for,” he responded.  A silence filled the room, Scarlett and Jacob keeping an eye on every single person in the room. Then, suddenly, one of them removed a gun from his pocket and aimed it at Jacob.  “You know what happens to traitors in this business,” the guys hissed.  I didn’t know this guy. He must have joined after I left.   “And do you know what happens to monsters like you?” Scarlett snapped.  “He is mine. This has nothing to do with you, you stupid b***h,”  Through my blurred vision, I see Scarlett point the gun at the guy's leg and then she pulled the trigger. He screeched out in pain and hit the floor.  “What the f**k Scar?” PJ yelled. “I am not messing around PJ, what you have done to myself and now Caleb is shocking, and we deserve better, so I will continue shooting your men until we get out.” She grinned. “You will never get through us, darling.” One of the guys said through gritted teeth. I just saw Scarlett’s head turn towards the fella, and I could see the anger in her eyes. She doesn’t like being told what she can or cannot do. I saw her gun being turned towards the guy, but it was pointed further up his body, towards his shoulder. “Trust me, keep pushing me, and I will happily put this bullet into you as I did with him.” She said as she pointed her gun towards the guy rolling around the ground in pain.  “You do realise we have guns, also, and there are more of us?” the guy laughed.  “Here is an idea. How about we all put our guns down, and I can knock every single one of you out?” Scarlett said confidently.  “You are fiesty, aren’t you, baby doll,” he replied, “Maybe we can make another arrangement that involves your boyfriend handing you over to me. We could have a lot of fun,”  I ignored my pain and got to my feet. He was not talking to her like that.  “You say one more thing like that about my girlfriend. I will f*****g shoot you myself,” I barked.  “You need to shut the f**k up and sit back down!” He shouted at me then began lunging towards me. The next thing I knew, the guy was face down on the ground, and Jacob stood next to him. He smashed him in the face with the handle of the gun he was holding. “I suggest your men stop coming at us,” Scarlett said calmly. “No chance, boys get them,” PJ said. Everyone started to walk towards us, and I could see Scarlett and Jacob backing up towards me with their guns pointed all over the place. Then we heard a loud bang from a door slamming followed by footsteps coming quickly down the corridor. “Back away from them.” A voice yelled, a voice I recognised.
