Loathing the Billionaire

Chapter 1

The fresh cool breeze of the sea kissed her face as she looked at the vast body of water. Kaitlyn tilted her head, raised her arms up in the air as she enjoyed watching this view while sitting on her motorcycle parked near the road. She was tempted to take off her clothes, run towards the shore and jump on the cold, crystal blue water. It's been a long time since her body taste the saltiness of the sea. The water glittered like thousand stars was on it as the sun shown above it.

She was in Ilocos and was not sure of what town she was now. She lost counts as she enjoyed the view while riding her motorcycle. This is one of her free weeks so she took the chance to have a free ride away from her congested busy schedule. Nakaka-stress na kasi at nakaka-toxic ang trabaho so that's why.

Kaya naman to unwind from her busy and stressful work, she finds time to do what she loves doing at iyon ay travelling and riding on her motorcycle. She got a new one this time, bagong modelo nga eh na halos ikamulubi na niya. She got it after selling the old one which she shared so many memories for almost two years. Hindi sana niya iyon gustong ibenta dahil sa dami ng memories niya roon ngunit hindi niya nais palampasin ang napakagandang labas na motorsiklo. Kaya naman ipinikit na niya ang mga mata at ibinenta ito para pambili ng bago.

She just purchased her new baby just recently and was on the drive test now. She loved it, really loved it that she immediately ordered it after watching the commercial. It's engine was designed and tuned for the street, biplane wings, super-aggressive styling. The revised gear ratios meant that torque is improved in the lower rev range, giving an easy access to wrap-speed acceleration at more streetable rpm. She was so excited to feel and embrace the styling and handlebars of the motorcycle. Her eyes, ears and pulse cannot stop itself from getting excited and excited as she rode on it in the street. Ganoon ang epekto nito sa kanya. She was inlove with her motorcycle. Mas mabilis pa nga ang pagtibok ng puso niya roon keysa kapag nakakakita siya ng mga gwapong lalaki.

Her destination was uncertain and she was just enjoying the places her motorcycle would take her. Napakasarap pagmasdan ng mga tanawin at ang hangin na humahaplos sa kanyang katawan ay napakasarap sa pakiramdam. Nakaka-relax.

She has a whole week to enjoy her travel before going back to her busy work again as a freelance interior designer. Although she can work according to her time schedule, she couldn't do that because she also has staffs who need to feed their own family. Kaya bago sumabak ulit at nagpasya siyang mag-enjoy muna. Before accepting her next project she asked for a week-vacation to her team and here she was now on her first day on the road. She woke up at two in the morning and started her journey to the northen part of the country.

She just brought some personal things and packed them in a small bag. She doesn’t need a lot because it won't fit on her motorcycle. She just geared up for safety and protection. She wore her black ankle boots paired it with fitted black ripped jeans. She matched it with white spaghetti strap blouse and topped with black leather jacket. She had protective gears too aside from her helmet. She won't travel unprepared. It's best to gear up than being dead on the street due to accident and carelessness. Mahirap na dahil kung hindi siya mag-iingat ay baka mawalan ng trabaho ang mga kasama niya. Isa pa bata pa siya at ni wala ngang boyfriend.

After savoring the moments of watching the blue sea, na kulang na lamang ay mag-pictorial siya, she put her hemlet on then climbed up on her motorcycle and started the engine for her next destination. She doesn't whereto but she was sure she'll love the view as she go forth the north. And that was indeed true for she witnessed the beauty of nature, the green and thick mountain ranges along the road and the long line of the shore. She didn't regret planning her travels to the north because it was all worth it.

Arriving at the city proper, she parked her motorcycle in front of a fast-food chain to have her breakfast. Hindi naman siya mapili sa kung saan siya kakain. Hindi siya maarte katulad ng ibang mga babae. Kahit nga sa turo-turo ay pwede siyang kumain basta hindi alangan ang lugar. It was just past seven in the morning so breakfast it is. She thought of eating in a restaurant and she'll do at lunch time. Marami siyang nabasang masasarap na kainan kaya doon siya mamaya. Right now, she needed an instant breakfast.

She entered the establishment and went directly at the counter, looked up and thought of what to eat. Nakakatakam ang mga naroroon kaya naman naglaway siya at gusto nang makakain agad. She had chosen two meals; one with rice, hotdog, sunny side up egg and hot chocolate and the other one was pancake, pie and cold softdrinks. That would be more than enough for her meal. Sabihin mo matakaw ka lang talaga. Parang pang-construction worker ang bodega sa tiyan o baka mas masahol pa. Napailing siya sa naisip.

She waited in the counter for short while before her order arrived. Ikiniskis niya ang mga palad bago inabot ang tray na punong-puno ng pagkain na para lamang sa kanyang sarili. She took the tray and scanned the entire establishment for a vacant seat and spotted one at the corner. Iyon sa dulo talaga at hindi masyadong inuokupa pa and it was perfect.

She walked gracefully holding the tray when she bumped into someone. Putek! Muntik na! sigaw ng isip niya. Good thing the impact wasn't that strong and her meal still stood still inside the tray. Thanks heavens for that dahil kung hindi ay talagang binungangaan na niya kung sino man iyon. She ignored whoever it was but was dismayed because the man didn't even apologized to her. Such a rude attitude! She just shrugged her shoulders and continued her way towards the table then begun eating. She'll have a long day today so she needed to finish her breakfast in no time.

Matapos maubos ang lahat ng pagkain na laman ng tray ay hindi agad siya tumayo. Parang hindi na nga siya makakatayo dahil sa kabusugan. After she enjoyed her breakfast, she sat back and watched people come and go inside the establishment. It was early but the street was already busy. Marami ng taong dumaraan maging ang mga sasakyan ay nasisidatingan na rin. She was enjoying her sight-seeing when her phone vibrated. She fished it on her jacket's pocket, pressed the answer button and put it on her ear.

"What?" She chuckled. "Bakit ang aga-aga mong nambubulahaw?"

"I went to your condo and no one was answering. Where the hell are you?" Tatiana asked.

Tatiana was her bestfriend and her assistant as well. Kung minsan nga ay parang ito ang boss sa kanilang dalawa dahil panay ang sermon nito sa kanya. And she was calling right now because because she didn't inform her of her escapades. Na-i-imagine na rin niya ang mukha nito. She was sure that she'll be as red as tomato again after realizing that she was not home. Kasalanan naman kasi nito kung bakit hindi siya nakapagpaalam. Last night, she tried calling her few times but she didn't answer. For sure, her best friend was busy drinking, dancing or even making out with her boyfriend last night so she was out of reach.

"I've been calling you last night but you're not answering. I guess you're busy with Raffy again," she said and her friend giggled.

"I was. But why you didn't text me. I'm still standing in front of your door. Nasaan ka ba ba? Kanina pa ako rito!"

"I'm not home. Just finished eating my breakfast somewhere down the road," she informed her.

"What?" her friend exclaimed. "We have a meeting to attend!"

Well, she forgot about that and just sinked in on her mind. But what can she do? She's in the road now and miles away. Naroon naman ito kaya alam na nito ang gagawin.

"Talk to them and orient me when I come back. I'll be home after a week or so."

"A week?" her friend asked. "That's too long. We need to start the project right away."

She sighed. She needed a break. That's a big project and she'll be exhausted to death if she'll go for it immediately.

"I'll be back after a week." Her friend was babbling something but she ended the call already. She doesn't want to stressed herself today and for the rest of the week. The weather was inviting her to enjoy this trip and she will gladly do that. Bahala na ito sa meeting. Kayang kaya naman nito iyon dahil sabi nga niya kanina, minsan ito ang boss niya.

Kaithlyn fished a bill from her pocket then placed it on the table then she stood up and went out of the establishment. She headed straight to where her motorcycle was parked, wore her helmet and rode it then started the engine. Kinalikot muna niya ang cellphone upang maghanap ng rotang pwedeng daanan. It was rush hour already so she looked for a road way where it wasn't congested at doon na niya pinaandar ang kanyang motorsiklo. Medyo malayo-layo na rin siya at patungo sa makurbang daan when a police motorcycle ran after her. Nag-overtake pa ito blocking her way.

"You need to follow me in the police station, Miss."
