Chapter 41

George’s PoV I rode my horse as Garry and Beatrice followed, and we soon arrived at Ave Village, where there were low vampires who were sober, royal vampires, and half the others. The vampires who lived in this village stared at us when we entered. "It's scary here in this place," Summer said as I dismounted my horse and dismounted Darwin. Beatrice dismounted the horse that we were riding as well. "Perhaps we will have an opponent here, dad. I feel like there are only evil vampires in this village," Darwin suggested, and I shook my head. "I sense them as well," Garry said to assist Summer. "I can feel them in this village as well," Beatrice said, holding Darwin. "As long as you're with me, you won't be hurt," I told Darwin, and he smiled. "I trust you, dad," Darwin said as we docked our horse near the village gate. "There is a fee to put a horse here," I overheard a man say as I looked at him, who was drunk and smiling at me. "I can pay as long as my horse is still here when I return, and nothing else would happen to them," I told him, taking the money from my wallet. I handed it to him, and he couldn't believe I had so much money. I took Darwin's hand in mine, and the four of us walked away. "You give that drunk man that much money?" Beatrice inquired. "I'm sure he'll release our horses if I don't give him money," Beatrice said, and we walked around the village; maybe I won't get a dorm to rent because we aren't humans that sleeping. That's why, when vampires go on vacation in villages like this. There's a dorm for them to have s*x. While we were looking, Darwin's grip on me tightened. "Do you have a problem?" I questioned Darwin, who seemed worried. "I'm afraid we might suddenly approach the people who were at the bar," he said to me, and I looked at the bar Darwin pointed to. "Don't worry, they won't come here," I assured him, and Beatrice took my hand in hers. "I'm just here to Darwin, don't worry, when they hit you, I'll be the one they'll face," Beatrice said as we came to a halt in front of a mortal food store. "Someone also sells mortal food here. Do you want to eat mortal food, Darwin?" I asked Darwin. "Can I eat that?" Darwin inquired. "Of course, your mother eats mortal food," I explained, and Summer and Garry had already arrived. "Mortal food again? Let me try it as well so I can learn what it's like to eat mortal food," Garry informed me. "Try it because you won't die," I said, and he picked what he could eat. I'll wait while Beatrice and Darwin decide what to eat, and I'll pay when Beatrice finishes picking food. When we finished paying, we sat down to eat as a group of five. Darwin handed it to me unexpectedly while he was eating. "Mortal food is delicious, but I can't get enough of it because blood is the most we eat," Darwin explained. "I know you want that; you can eat all of it," I told Darwin. When they were done eating, I saw Beatrice's smile again; she was pleased because I could see her smiling. "You're staring at me again. Tell me you like mortal food also," Beatrice said; I shook my head. "I'm fine; that is all yours," I said to Beatrice, and when they were finished, we stood up and continued our search for Louis along with Gary and Summer, who finished eating as well. It had been an hour as we looked around the village, but we had been looking for Louis and had not found him. We need to find him as soon as possible because Beatrice desperately wants to see her mother now. "I need to announce for everyone again," I said to Beatrice. "Yeah, do that, we've been looking for Louis for hours, but there's no sign of him in this village either," Garry explained. "I hope we find this guy because he likes to hide," Summer added. "George announce it so we can move on to our next destination," Garry said, and I nodded. I went to the center, but only a few people looked at me; the people here were uninterested, so I announced that I was looking for Louis. The others just stood there watching because they didn't care. "Those who left are unfortunate because you will receive money when you find this man," I told them, but the others did not listen. I left the center after I finished announcing and returned to see Beatrice. Darwin unexpectedly hugged me as I approached them, and I knelt to be honest with him. "First, let's go back to my mansion; we've been looking for Louis for far too long; we need to re-plan, and we also need to visit Beatrice's mother in the hospital," I said. "If you see Louis tell me," I told Garry. "That'll do," Garry said as he assisted Summer in riding the horse. Summer said to me, "See you soon, George." "Both of you take care, and we'll see each other again very soon, keep your eyes peeled and be on the lookout," I advised Summer and Garry. "All right, we can split up now," I said, and Garry and Summer were the first to leave riding their horse as Beatrice said goodbye to them as well. "Are you prepared for your new home with mom?" I inquired, and Darwin nodded "I'm ready, dad!" Darwin exclaimed as we exited the village. "Will you tell your family that you're going to adopt Darwin?" Beatrice inquired. "Of course, they won't be angry because they adopted someone before, but they didn't come back to us after growing up. They just let it go because they are grown up already," Beatrice said, and I mounted Darwin to my horse. "We should also advise Darwin to meet my mother," Beatrice said to me. That's a great idea. "Yes, let us do that once we get back to my mansion," I told Beatrice. Darwin and I rode our horse. Beatrice rode her white horse. We were almost back at my mansion after seven hours. Darwin jumped off immediately when we arrived, but luckily he knew how to jump high. Darwin looked around my mansion and into my garden, and he was astounded by what he saw. "Is this your first time to see a mansion?" I inquired, and Darwin nodded. "You'll get used to it at my house as well, but when we return to find Louis. Is it okay if I leave you with my butler? Don't worry, he's a good person, "I informed him. "Will you be able to return as soon as you find what you're looking for?" Darwin inquired. "I'm not sure, but if you're uncomfortable with my butler, I can take you to my family. They'll be nice to you," I told Darwin. "I'll also introduce you to my mother, Darwin," Beatrice said to Darwin as he nodded. "All right, mom and dad," Darwin replied. **
