Lucas's POV
The car ride back was so silent that I could hear my heavy breathing, echoing so intensely throughout the car.
I took a glance over at her petrified form and she was still shivering as a result of the incident that just occurred.
Her gloomy face was turned towards the window and her body was so tensed that I could feel it from where I was seated.
Damn... I couldn't stand seeing her this way, it felt like my heart was been ripped out of my chest and I didn't like that one bit.
This was a whole new feeling for me, it was nothing I felt with Marie, and trust me I hated every second of it.
Thinking deeply I wondered who would want her dead so badly... she is so innocent and has sure a beautiful soul, so full of light and definitely nothing at all like the darkness within me ?
