Mr. CEO - You’re Dumped Chapter 15 - Elizabeth is Missing Richard’s P.O.V Rafael’s words didn’t quite sink into my head. I was very sure that Luke was happy about that too as he held on to Raf even tighter than before, squeezing the life out of his lungs. “Luke, let Rafael go, then we can discuss this properly and know what our next move is,” I suggested, but he was going to listen to me. “He knows where Elizabeth is and I’m not going to let him go until he admits it,” Luke uttered, and I saw the colors drain out of Raf’s face. “Let him go!” a group of security guards yelled as they approached Luke and dropped Raf to the floor hesitantly. They were about to cuff him when one of them recognized his face and I heard him whisper to the other guards. “Man, that’s a Mondragon. I wouldn’t cuff him if I were you. He could have us all fired in an instance,” the guard said and the other officers returned their weapons. “What’s going, Mr. Mondragon?” The chief guard asked Luke. I wanted to so badly say something, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Especially after seeing what Luke nearly did to Raf, who is slightly bigger than me. Dr. Dorian scurried into the reception from his office, and he looked tense. I’m very sure that he might have heard all the noise from earlier and, honestly, he had the right to be worried. Luke didn’t seem so happy either. I could see the anger and fear in his eyes. The fear of what could happen to Elizabeth at the moment. “Dr. Mondragon, what is the matter? You don’t seem so happy?” Dr. Dorian asked and Luke simply shoved past him and walked out of the hospital. Dr. Dorian followed behind me as well, leaving I and Rafael alone. “This is the part where you run after him, right?” Rafael asked with a weak smile. I wanted to do that, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I was afraid of what he might say. Not that I cared about what happened to him or Elizabeth anymore. But she was still a part of my life. “I don’t think there’s any need for you to go after him,” Lillian declared as she walked into the reception room with a flourish. I’m not sure of where she had gone to, but she left after her little confrontation with Elizabeth. “Lillian, where have you been?” I asked her. “I just went out to take a stroll. You know, clear my mind, fresh air,” “Lillian, what did you do?” I stared at her, hoping she would have said something, but all she did was laugh softly at my words. “What’s going on here Richie? I’m here to talk to Elizabeth. Where is she?” Lillian smiled and my suspicions rose the more. Well, she wasn’t around when everything happened and I didn’t expect her to know that Elizabeth was missing, but the way she was talking about everything, I could tell something was wrong. “Lillian, you are hiding something from me and I need you to come clean,” I told her. Rafael stood at his feet, wiping the blood from his lips and staring at Elizabeth. For someone who just got badly beaten up by Luke, he was doing much better than I expected him to. “Elizabeth is missing, Lillian and I believe you have a clue as to where she is,” I asked her, but she didn’t seem to bother with what I said. She sighed and sat on the chair in the hallway. She didn’t look surprised, neither did she seem happy about it. “To think that you could suspect me for such an act, Richie! I am your wife!” “Fiancée, to be precise. We’re not married yet Lillian and even though I am legally divorced with Elizabeth..” “You still love her,” Rafael interrupted me. I wasn’t technically going to say that to her, even though I did feel that way in my heart. “I didn’t ask you to pitch in, Rafael. You are annoyingly making things worse.” I cautioned him. He rolled his eyes and walked up to a nurse, requesting for treatment on the little wounds he has. Lillian seemed pretty upset at the moment. Especially with what Rafael had said. “How do I help?” She asked. Her question caught me off guard, and I didn’t quite understand what she meant. “What are you talking about, Lillian?” “You said Elizabeth was missing? And you think I had something to do with it?” she took a deep breath and smiled at me. Her smile was cunning, and I hoped she wouldn’t do what I expected her to do. “What can I do to help? To prove that I didn’t kidnap Elizabeth” she asked, and I felt my heart warm up at her gesture and I couldn’t stop myself from giving her a kiss. “I love you Lillian,” “I love you too Richie, but right now, we need to report this to the police,” Lillian suggested. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you two. Elizabeth hasn’t been gone for up to twenty-four hours and there’s no way the cops are filling our missing person case just because she’s a Mondragon.” Rafael uttered as she walked out of the ward where he was being treated by a nurse. Rafael had an ugly past. One which, if I remember correctly, I had helped him escape from. But as I was seeing right now, I think I may have failed. “Did you actually think sending me to Spain would keep me off the radar from the Mafia, Richard?” He laughed mischievously as he walked closer to Lillian, determined mostly to frighten her. “Do you even have any idea what this lady here is doing to you?” He asked me again and I could feel my heart scream from the fear of what could happen right now. “It was you, wasn’t it? You were the one who called me?” “Hush now Lillian, we wouldn’t want your fiancée to find out something that could ruin your relationship at this moment, do we?” I looked at Lillian and I could see how scared she was at the very moment. I never told her anything about Rafael’s past and all she knew was that he was my best friend, at least until today. Rafael looked me sternly in the eyes as a mischievous smile flustered across his face. “Once a mafia… always a mafia,” Luke’s P.O.V I got to the station two hours after leaving the hospital. Dr. Dorian insisted on going with me and, well, I guess I had to let him. I needed someone to guide me around London. It’s been almost five years since I last visited. “Are you really sure you want to report this to the cops?” Dr. Dorian asked. “Are you with me, or against me?” I shot back at him, and he kept mute throughout the rest of the drive. We walked into the station and went straight to the cop at the desk in the waiting room. “Good afternoon Officer,” I greeted He looked up from his desk and let out an exaggerated sigh before burying his head down into the files he had been working. “Welcome to the Metropolitan Police Service. How may I help you?” he asked nonchalantly. “I’d like to report a missing person case,” The officer dropped the file in his hands and looked up at me and Dr. Dorian. I finally got to see his name tag clearly, Officer Steward. A weird name for an officer, but who am I to judge? “Has this missing person been gone for a day?” He asked with a raised eyebrow. “Well, technically she just got kidnapped today so we can’t say that yet.” Dr. Dorian replied and I was angry that he did. The officer scoffed and buried his head back into his reading. “Um, Officer Stewie, I am repotting an emergency for you and you’re ignoring me. How would you feel if I take that up with your superiors?” I threatened, but he smiled at me warmly. “That’s Officer Steward to you, Mr. Mondragon. And yes, you are speaking with a superior,” he replied, his eyes fuming with rage. “You know who I am?” I asked. “Worse, I had to work with the Puerto Rico military after your parents' murder here in London and you guys are a handful,” “Um, I think I’ll leave you both to talk, Dr. Mondragon; I’ll be outside waiting,” Dr. Dorian smiled as he left me with the officer. “Wait a minute, you said my parents got murdered here in London?” He got nervous. His hands shook slightly as he tried to walk away from me. “Look Mr. Mondragon, if this missing person happens to be your sister, you’re going to need to wait for twenty-four hours before you can file a report,” Officer Steward sighed, and a disappointed look was on his face. “And you’d also have to report it to some other Police department. London has nothing to do with the Mondragon family anymore,” he said, and walked out of the waiting room. Another officer quickly took his place at the reception desk and I wanted to find out more about what he was saying. “Why don’t you guys have anything to do with the Mondragon family anymore?” I asked the junior officer, who was now standing before me. “I’m sorry, but I can’t answer that question. You may take your leave now, Mr. Luke Mondragon.” I took a deep breath and walked out of the station. To think that they could treat me in such a manner. If not fit the good manners my parents taught me, I would have burned down that entire police station. I walked straight to where Dr. Dorian had packed his car and he was waiting just by the door of the driver's seat. “How did it go?” He asked me and I sighed. “Apparently, they don’t believe I can file for a missing persons case unless Elizabeth has been missing for over twenty-four hours.” I mumbled as I opened the door to the passenger's seat and hopped in. My head was literally blocked, and I didn’t know who to call or what to do. “So we come back tomorrow, then?” I scoffed on hearing his question, well he wasn’t in there with me when everything happened. Do who am I to blame him for being so caring? “Look Dr. Mondragon, I know we just met today but I think we should go to the park and search for clues,” That was the smartest thing Dr. Dorian had said all day and boy, was I willing to sacrifice everything and do that, but I needed to know something first. “How long have you lived in London, Dr. Dorian?” “I’ve been in London for almost five years now. What do you ask?” Officer Steward's words kept repeating itself in my head. Hearing him say that my parents got murdered in London here and knowing that I was told that they had an accident in Puerto Rico. “Do you know about any incident that on the fourth of July, 2017?” I asked him and he paused for a moment, probably thinking back to that day. “The only thing noteworthy that happened was… Oh my God!” he exclaimed. I guess Officer Steward was saying the truth after all. “That was the day your parents died. It was all over the news in London. The cops were literally everywhere searching for the culprits, but suddenly, the case died down,” he added. “So General Scout has been lying to our faces this whole time,” I whispered under my breath. I needed to get more details about my parents' death. I finally have a new lead, but I can’t do anything with Elizabeth missing. “Do you know where the incident happened?” I asked Dr. Dorian and his face began heavy with emotions. “I’m afraid that place has been off limits since the day your parents died. The Puerto Rico army has a mini base there,” he informed me. “Hang on, you’re telling me that there’s a military base somewhere in London, occupied by the Puerto Rico army?” “That’s exactly what I’m saying, Dr. Mondragon.” I was still thinking of what to do first. If Elizabeth were here, she would have wanted me to go look into this new lead on our parents' case first, but now that’s she’s not. I needed to get her first. “Dr. Dorian, I need you to help me book a reservation in any hotel, so long as it’s conducive enough for me to stay for the night and you should also go home after that.” “No way, sir. I’m here to help you find your sister,” he bickered, and I laughed softly. “That you will do, but not until tomorrow. For now, let’s go get some sleep and pray that no harm comes upon Elizabeth,” I replied and Dr. Dorian nodded his head in agreement. I have only shot at saving Elizabeth, and I don’t need to ruin it.
