Mr. CEO - You’re Dumped Chapter 17 – Let’s call a truce Lillian’s P.O.V Three days after Elizabeth’s kidnap and Rafael hadn’t let I and Richard or his mom leave the hospital. None of the doctors knew we were still in the hospital, and neither did Luke. It was good for us. We would avoid getting caught up in the drama and everything, but Richard really needed to get back to the company. He hadn’t informed most of the staff about the new change in power and he also couldn’t do that now, given that someone had kidnapped the major shareholder of the company. “Good morning lovely couple,” Rafael greeted as he walked into the small room which he locked Richard and me in. “And what could be good about this morning, Rafael? You’ve locked us up for almost three days now. Can we at least go outside and take a stroll?” Richard asked and Rafael smiled brightly at him. He threw his arms on Richard’s shoulder and tapped him gently. “Come on, best friend. I’m doing this to keep you safe,” Rafael said. “You don’t lock up your best friend and his fiancée in a room for three days without telling them why,” I protested, and they both looked at me. “Come on, do you want to tell me that Richard didn’t hook up with you these three days?” Rafael teased, and a smile formed on Richard’s face. “You’re insane Rafael” I snorted, and he laughed. “Richard, you can go outside. You can go home now for all I care. I have done my job here best friend. But I would love to have a moment with Lillian,” Rafael announced, and I sighed. I didn’t feel comfortable with the idea of both of us having a moment alone. I knew what he wanted to talk to me about. I also wanted to talk to him about it and find out how he knew about what I was doing behind Richard’s back. “I don’t know what you’re up to, Rafael, but if you actually got involved with the mafia again, just let me know. I can help you,” Richard told him and he smiled warmly. “Thank you. Man, honestly, it’s good to know you’ve always got my back.” Richard walked out the door without looking back, and I was pretty sure he was going to take his mum home. Her hospital bill had accumulated more, as she had stayed longer than we had hoped because of Rafael’s ridiculous stunt. “Ok, what the f**k is going on, Rafael?” “Diving right into it. That’s one thing I like about you, Lillian. But Elizabeth has always been more straightforward than you,” Rafael smirked, and I unconsciously slapped him on his left cheek. I hated the fact that he always mentioned Elizabeth whenever the both of us discussed. For a lady who knew absolutely nothing about him and his existence until three days ago, he was always likely to back her up in anything. “You called me a few weeks back and said something about what I was doing to Richard’s company. What the hell did you do that for?” I yelled angrily, and he put his hands on my lips to hush me. He pushed me back to the walk and kicked the door shut with his feet. His hands trailed a line on my hair as his dark blue eyes looked deep into mine, searching for something I did not know about. “What makes you so sure that I was the one that called you?” he smiled as he leaned in closer to me. “Rafael, what are you doing?” I groaned as I felt his hands wrap around my waist. He pulled me closer to him and bit his lips in an arousing manner. “You really have to be careful when stealing from my best friend’s company, Lillian,” he whispered into my ear and his voice was so tempting. “Rafael…” I did my best to control my urges, but damn; he was twice the size of Richard and it had been a while since Richard satisfied me the way I wanted it. “Get a hold of yourself, girl. I just want to warn you about the consequences of your actions. " Those words snapped me out of my fantasies as I saw the crooked smile on Rafael’s face. How could one man be so good at making me want him and also make me not want me? “Are you threatening me, Rafael?” “Oh, no Lillian. I would never dare do that” he paused for a moment and planted a kiss on my neck. “Like I said before, take it as a friendly warning from me to you. Your actions have consequences,” he added, and turned to walk out of the room. “You’re bluffing,” I said, and he stopped dead in his tracks. He twirls around like a child playing pretend in a Disney fairytale as he faces me once more. “You think I’m bluffing? How about I call back Richard here right now and tell him about the twenty million dollars you just stole from his new business contract,” I gasped at his statement. That was my most recent heist from Lim Sardines and not even the financial secretary knew about what I had done. I made sure that I kept it off the radar as I didn’t want Richard realizing that I was stealing from the company, but having my fiancée’s best friend threaten me was not so good. “You won’t tell him about this. You can not tell him about this Rafael,” I pleaded, and he smiled brightly at me. “Oh, trust me Lillian, I have no plans to tell him. As long as I get a share of that sweet money,” Rafael said and my heart felt heavy. I wanted to stop stealing from Richard and here he was, telling me to keep doing so and give him a share of the money as well. I met Rafael after I and Richard broke up. He was a rascal, an accident waiting to happen and possibly the most self-centered human being I had met in my entire life. Richard believed he could help him change and so spent a whole fortune clearing off his criminal records with the cops and sending him outside the country, but here he was; back to his old ways. “I can’t keep stealing from Richard. You and I know it is going to be impossible to do so,” I informed him, but he kept smiling at me. “Maybe we can try something else then, an alliance to take down Elizabeth Mondragon?” he suggested. “You know who kidnapped her, don’t you?” I asked him, and he laughed mischievously. “I wish I did, but I don’t. Whoever kidnapped her was one step ahead of me this time around, but together, the both of us can get back at her for everything,” Rafael added. “What do you have against Elizabeth? For someone who just met you three days ago, you sure have a lot of resentment for her,” I asked him, but he didn’t seem ready to give me any answers. “You’ll find out when the time is right. But for now, are you in or out?” He held out his hand for me to probably shake to the deal, and I considered what I could gain from forming an alliance with Rafael. I had no other option. My hatred and jealousy for Elizabeth would not end until I saw her suffering and living a miserable. Taking a deep breath, I shook his hand and smiled at him. “So far as there’s no murdering, count me in.” Luke's P.O.V "Come on Luke. It's been three days since Elizabeth went missing and we haven't even gotten a clue on where she could be," Dorian said. We'd spent the last three days together, and somehow, we had become the best of friends. We stopped addressing each other with our official titles. I called him Dorian, and he called me Luke. Our search for Elizabeth had yielded no fruitful result. Especially since the Police had refused to help us out as they claimed they had nothing to do with the Mondragon's anymore. "You know that you're not being helpful right now, Dorian." I kept on replaying the videotape of the CCTV footage at the park on the day they kidnapped Elizabeth. Yes, the police had refused to help us out, but Dorian was able to call in a favor from a security personnel who he treated a few months back. There was nothing odd about the video. I noticed Rafael was there when they kidnapped her and it seemed like he was following her. "Look, why not call General Scout? From all you've told me about your history with the Puerto Rico Military, I'm sure he'd be willing to help you out." Dorian suggested. "I would have done that, but remember, I have a brother in the army. If he finds out about this, God knows what he would do," I replied and Dorian scuffed. "Well, we will get nothing from sitting here another day and watching that CCTV footage over again," he sighed as he took a seat beside me. We watched the video from the top once more, but this time, we kept an eye out for things we normally wouldn't expect to see in a park. "I have an idea. I can't believe we haven't tried that," Dorian spoke excitedly. "We need to track Elizabeth's phone. That way we can know where she was last seen or where she could be at the moment," he added. My eyes lit up with joy. To think that we hadn't thought of that from the very beginning was funny and stupid. "So, do you have anyone that can help us track her phone?" "One person, but you might not like who it is," he smiled as he took his phone to make the call. A few moments later, we heard a knock on the hotel room we had lodged and Dorian volunteered to check who it was. "Dr. Mondragon. It's so nice to meet you again. Though I wish the circumstances were different." I turned from my seat to find Richard and Dorian standing behind me. There was another nerdy looking guy standing beside them, which made me wonder why Richard was here. "Dorian, what the heck is he doing here? I'm searching for my sister and you're inviting her ex-husband over," I sighed. "I told you that you wouldn't like it, but Mr. Lim is the only man who seems to have a connection in every country he's been to," Dorian stated, but I still didn't like the idea. "You can call me Richard, Dorian. And Luke, I want to find Elizabeth as much as you do. If I hadn't invited her over to London, she wouldn't be in this situation," Dorian spoke softly and I was seeing why my little sister fell in love with him. "And I'm assuming that you're the one who is going to track her phone, aren't you?" I asked the guy standing beside Richard, but he said nothing. He sat on the couch and brought out his laptop from the bag he was carrying and his hands drummed on the keyboard. "This is Charles, but he prefers to be addressed as Trix," Richard said, as we all watched Trix toy around with his laptop. “Who was the last person she spoke with on the phone?” Trix asked. That was his first time of saying something after being silent for almost ten minutes. “I think that would be Richard. The last time she made a phone call was when we were in Puerto Rico,” I answered. “Can I have your phone, Mr. Richard?” Richard handed his phone over to Trix, and he scanned it for a moment before returning it back to him. He went about his work and we decided to give him the room to do what he does best and find out where my sister was last seen. We went out to the lobby and I could see how tense Richard was. “Where have you been the last three days?” I asked him and he hesitated before answering me. “I was, um… I had some business issues to attend to. Which is also why I need Elizabeth back soon. " “Oh, right? She told me she now owns the majority share of your company. How true is that?” I smirked, and he scoffed. “I did what I did. I have no regrets, but something tells me she didn’t let you know about it until maybe three days ago? Looks like little sister doesn’t trust you,” Richard said with a smile on his face. I wanted to get under his skin but unfortunately; he was infuriating more me than I had planned for him. “Can the both of you at least put your differences aside and let’s get to the bottom of Elizabeth’s kidnap,” Dorian mumbled. “For the mean time, let’s call a truce, shall we?” He added. We stood in silence for an awfully long time until Richard’s phone beeped. “That’s Trix. He said he might have narrowed down Elizabeth’s last whereabouts,” Richard announced, and we walked back into the room. Trix looked at the three of us slowly, his face neutral and his hands still on his laptop keyboard. “So where is she?” I asked expectantly. “I needed you guys to come in first before I finished up the rest of my job." He turned his laptop to us and with a click of a button, his google map automatically pin-pointed the location of Elizabeth’s phone. I stared at the laptop screen in awe. “What the hell was Elizabeth doing at the London airport?"
