Mr. CEO - You’re Dumped Chapter 24 - In Good Graces Richard’s P.O.V Lillian stands by the door, her black night gown stopping right above her knees, her hands on her waist and left foot tapping gently on the floor. I informed her of my plans to meet Elizabeth’s cousin. From what I’ve heard, Constantine always listens to his daughter and grants her everything she requests. I needed to get in good graces and, hopefully, convince her to speak on my behalf to father. “Why won’t you say something?” I ask her, still lying on the bed. She doesn’t speak but just stands there, silently watching me. Seconds go by which feel like years before the smile on her lips folds into a frown. “You’re not going anywhere!” she replies. “Why?” “Because I said so, and I’m not changing my mind,” she turns and leaves the bedroom and I charge after her. She walks into the kitchen, takes out a knife, and my heart jumps into my tummy. Lillian has a fierce look on her face and I know she doesn’t like the idea of me meeting someone from the Mondragon family after Constantine and Elizabeth turned me down when I went to see them. “Lillian, put the knife down,” I plea with her and she hesitates before dropping it back on the table. Lillian has anger issues which no one knows nothing about. She let people see as her as weak and someone who could only be protected by others but deep down; she wants so badly to defend herself, but the fear of murdering someone always holds her back. “Why do you always have to get involved with the Mondragon family?” she asks, with tears rolling down her cheeks. “I’m not getting involved with the Mondragon family. I just want to get my company back,” I say to her, but she's not pleased with my response. “Their family is messed up! And eventually, you are going to get caught up in all their drama!” Lillian yells and walks into the guest room, slamming the door behind her and ensuring that it is locked. I hate this. I walk back to our room to take my shower and get dressed. Elizabeth was the one who bought the house for me and Lillian after she found out we were staying in a hotel on our arrival in Puerto Rico. Lilian didn’t want to accept it, but Elizabeth told her it was just part of our business deal and so we took it. After getting ready to leave the house, I walk to the door of the Guest room and knock gently, hoping that Lillian might have calmed down a bit, but she wasn’t. “I love you Lillian,” I declare before walking out of the house. Realizing that I still didn’t have a car, I went out to the street and stopped a cab. I haven’t picked a place for my little date with Elizabeth’s cousin and so I was about to ask the driver when I got a text from an unknown number. Unknown Number: Meet me at Deluxe burger. Don’t keep me waiting. Mondragon. I guess everyone in Elizabeth’s family has a thing with keeping to time. I tell the driver to drop me at the place written in the text I had gotten from Elizabeth’s cousin and we get there in an hour's time after driving around the whole city because I was looking for a place to have our meeting. I alight from the car and pay the taxi driver before walking into the restaurant. I haven’t seen Elizabeth’s cousin, so I don’t know what she looks like, neither do I know her name. I was relying on the fact that she knew what I looked like in person. I look around the restaurant and spot a lady seated a table reserved for two all by herself and I didn’t hesitate to walk over to her. “Miss Mondragon?” She raises her head up from her phone to look at me. “Call me Carlin. " I feel relieved that I am speaking with the right person, and I take the seat opposite hers. “You made me wait,” she declares and I consult my phone to check the time when I got her text and how long it took me to arrive at the restaurant. “Has anyone ever told you that there’s a striking resemblance between you and your cousin Elizabeth?” I announce as I took notice of her appearance. She had the same color of eyes as Elizabeth and the same color hair. Her lips are full and her upper lip forms an arc like the top of a drawn heart and her. “For someone meeting with me for the first time, you shouldn’t compare me to my cousin when hoping to ask for a favor,” she frowns and stands to take her leave. “Forgive me, Carlin. It will happen never again,” I plea and she reconsiders my words for a moment before sitting down once more. The waiter, dressed in a black suit, approaches our table with two coffee cups and sets them down before us. Carlin looks at me. “What do you want?” Her voice tempts me, and my mind goes blank for a few seconds. Knowing that acting weak and vulnerable with the Mondragon family would get me nowhere, I clear my throat and square my shoulders. “To make you an offer.” She scoffs. "And what offer could you possibly have that would interest me, Mr. Lim? " “Fifty percent of my company rights, if you help me get your dad’s signature on this document.” I bring out a file from the bag I am carrying and hand it over to her to go through, and she laughs softly. The documents were a declaration of company rights that state that the Rose Corp had returned all the rights of my company which they had purchased, but would still fulfil the promises they made. She looks over the file carefully and, after glancing through it, she tosses it back to me. “Have you ever wondered why I don’t get involved in our family company?” she asks. I think about it for a while, “No.” “I thought as much. Unlike Elizabeth, who her parents groomed from our childhood to run the Company, I went to fashion school,” she informed me and I was stunned by her words. “So you’re a designer?” “No honey, I’m a model” she smiled as she stands to her feet to leave the restaurant. “I could connect you to a few people who would be willing to invest in your company. But as for my dad, he is not listening to any deal you have to offer,” she announces and walks majestically out of the restaurant. The waiter from earlier returns to take out our coffee cups and informs me that Carlin had settled the bill even before I arrived. Picking up my file from the table, I walked out of the restaurant, disappointed but yet hopeful, majorly because I got a text from Carlin right after she had left. Carlin: Maybe we could meet up for dinner sometime. No business discussions <3. Mondragon. I smile at her text as I stop a taxi to head home. Carlin’s P.O.V I stand outside General Scouts' house and I’m very nervous to walk inside and meet. I am still angry with Mr. Lim for wasting my time today just because he wanted to get back his company from my father and he thought of using me to do so. I am more upset at him for having the courage to tell me straight to my face that I looked like my bossy cousin, Elizabeth. No one had ever said that to me asides Elizabeth’s late parents and hearing that from him brought back memories I had fought so hard to forget. I recalled the times Elizabeth and I were very close to each other. The times we would share the same ride to school, play together, sleep together, and even eat together. Those were happy memories until she decided she was all grown and left for business school without even saying goodbye to me and she never called or texted of wrote to me until she returned. I am still reminiscing about the past when the door to the house is opened and General Scout stands in front of me, shirtless and wearing his navy khaki shorts. His body is a wonderful sight to behold and had to control myself from reaching out to touch his abs. “Carlin? What are you doing here?” his question comes out with no emotion in his voice. I brush past him and proceed into the house. He drags me back by my arm and pulls me to him. I steady myself against him, my hands on his bare chest. "What are you doing here, Carlin?" He asks again, his voice clearly showing annoyance. “I… I wanted to talk to you… about last time… outside my house” nervousness barely lets me speak as I stammer out the words. “There’s nothing to talk about. Please go home,” he demanded, but he still didn’t let go of my hands. That act gives me courage to speak, “Are you sure you want to send me home?” “Yes… I am” he mumbles. I raise an eyebrow at him. “Then let go of my hands!” He looks at my hand and realizes he is still holding me. He hesitates for a moment before letting go. “Why have you been avoiding everyone in the Mondragon family?” I inquired, and he looked like he wasn’t sure of what I was saying. “My dad says you’ve been ignoring his calls. At first I thought you were simply busy, but then again, I over heard Elizabeth and Luke discussing. You haven’t been taking her calls as well, and you turned her away when she came to your office,” I stated and he sighs. He leads me to his living room. It is my first time of being inside his house and it is very lovely. His living room was barely as large as the one at the Mondragon estate, but it was big enough for a man living on his own. He walks to his refrigerator and returns to where I sit with a bottle of wine. “Champagne?” He offers. “I’m not here to drink,” I reply, and he smiles. “Why have you been avoiding me?” I ask and he scuffs. “I am not avoiding you or anybody in your family!” he replies and I am not satisfied with his response, for I know he is lying to me. I bring out my phone from my pause and show him my call records. His number was the very last one I called, and I did that ten times, but he didn’t answer any of them. He looks at the screen of my phone and frowns. “I didn’t see your call,” he defends. “Are you lying to me?” “Yes,” God, his audacity is infuriating, “I’m not joking around, Scout!” He smiles at me and walks up the stairs. I follow him without thinking about what he could be planning. We got to a door and he opens it. It is his bedroom, and it is so freaking beautiful. He looks at me and smiles, walks in and pulls out a shirt from his wardrobe to put on. “I preferred when you were shirtless,” I blunted out and I quickly cover my mouth in shame. “Alright Carlin, what exactly do you want?” He asks, looking at me with a tempting look on his face. “First, I want to know the truth about why you’re avoiding the Mondragon family. And then, I want to have s*x with you,” I declare. His gaze lingers on me for a moment too soon as he runs his hand through his hair. I hoped that telling him I wanted to have s*x with him would take him by surprise, but it didn’t have the effect I had hoped for. “Sweet Carlin, you should know why I don’t want to have anything to do with your family. " “If I did, I wouldn’t have come all the way here to ask you,” I sigh “Fair point” he smiles and sits on his king-size bed. “Your family is trouble, Carlin. You guys are like a ticking time bomb that could explode any moment from now. I don’t want myself or the army to get involved in that explosion,” he informs me and honestly, he made a good point. I sit beside him on the bed and his hands work their way to the small of my back, gently massaging me and making me long for his touch the more. He draws me closer to him and kisses my neck passionately. His left hand moving gradually on my thigh and his right, caressing my breasts. “But… Andrew is a part of the army,” I utter in between moans and he pulls away gently for a moment, looks into my hungry eyes and smiles. “And that’s why he doesn’t serve the army here,” He replies and resumes kissing my neck. I want so badly in me; I push him down to bed and climb on him, bringing his head close to his. I pause just for a moment, making him beg for our lips to meet. “You don’t make me wait,” he says in a commanding tone and brings my lips to his. He pushes me up so he can sit on the bed, and his hands move to my back. He carefully unzips my gown and helps me glide free from it. He stares at my body, which is now only protected by my lingerie. “Your father and Elizabeth are not fit to run your family company,” he mumbles and attempts to unstrap my lingerie, but I refuse. I push him down to the bed once more and whisper into his ear, “Not so fast, General.” My hands move down to the zip of his shorts and I feel him hard already. I grab him and gently he moans softly. I continue to tease him and he begs for me to continue. “I hate Elizabeth so much,” I mumble and he turns me over on the bed, positioning himself on top of me. “Your father is the problem your family has,” he whispers and he kisses me just beside my breast. “D… don’t say that about my father,” I mumble as he continues to make me wish he was inside me. My phone beeps and I realize that I had lost track of time while having the time of my life with Scout, but I was going to enjoy making him want me as I pushed me off me and down to bed. Standing to my feet, I grab my gown from the edge of the bed and slip it back on. “What are you doing?” Scout asks me, but I kept quiet as I picked up my things. I saw the text on my phone and it was from a number that I hadn’t saved on my phone. Unknown Number: I’m in Puerto Rico. I’m coming for you. I gasp and Scout jumps to his feet. “What is Carlin? What does the text say?” he asks, his face pale with worry. “I’m so sorry, General, but I have to go. " I run down the stairs and quickly exit the building, waving down the very first taxi I see and I completely forgot that I had come with my driver. I send my driver a text to meet me back home as the taxi had already stepped on the gas immediately I entered. Dad would know what to do. I assure myself as the taxi takes me to back to the Estate.
