Mr. CEO - You're Dumped Chapter 40 - Confessions: A New Lawyer. Elizabeth’s P.O.V “Come on Dorian, we only have thirty minutes to spend out here before I head back to the estate,” I declare, as happy as I could ever be. “You know, for someone who claims her week has been stressful, you are far too energized, Princess,” he teases, and I am not impressed by the name he chose to call me. I stop dead in my tracks, my hands now on my hips and I long at him in annoyance. He is confused and unsure of why I am reacting this way. “You called me a nickname that I hear from my best friends’ lips, every day?” I ask him and he chuckles. “You mean Princess?” He asks, playing dumb, and it infuriates me. “Yes! That is what I mean,” I defend, and he laughs softly. “If I am not mistaken, Amelia calls you Princesse; French I presume. I am calling you Princess; English.” He responds, feeling all smart and all. We didn’t go quite far from the estate. We are in the large estate compound. My dad had built mum a garden out back where she would always wonder off to whenever she wanted to be alone and slowly, I did the same. I proceed to the swing that hangs from the beautifully trimmed apple tree at the heart of the garden. I sit on in and after a few moments, Dorian walks up towards me. He gently pushes the swing and hums me a song. “How are you holding up?” Dorian asks, and I scuff. “My little brother fails trial before the court tomorrow and I have no evidence to prove he is innocent,” I sigh and Dorian stops pushing the swing and finds his way to sit beside me. He strokes my hair gently and I feel our feet knock against each other. “Everything is going to be alright, Elizabeth. I am here for you. And so are Amelia and Luke. We are with you till the end,” Dorian assures me, and a smile finds its way to my lips. He stands to his feet and drags me along with him, steading me on his chest and looking into my eyes. I feel the wind in my hair as butterflies’ fly through my tummy. He smiles brightly at me and for the first time; I realize he is barely an inch taller than me without my heels. “Kiss me,” he whispers, and I pretend not to hear him. He leans in closer to me, his right hand holding my waist and his left hand on my cheek, gently massaging my face, and continues to smile. “Don’t be stubborn, Miss Mondragon. Kiss me,” he requests once more and I chuckle softly. My phones, it’s a text probably from Amelia but I don’t want to read it. But a part of me tells me I should and so do I. Dorian’s smile fades. “Who is from?” he asks and I sigh. “It’s Amelia. Barrister Stones is here. I have to go.” I inform Dorian and run back into the house through the front door. I arrive at the study room just like Amelia’s text had asked me to and there before my eyes is Barrister Stones, surrounded by my brothers and Amelia herself. It looks like they had been silent since he arrived and probably waiting for me before they would ask him questions. “Elizabeth, I have something to tell,” Barrister Stones declares, and I raise an eyebrow at him. He looks at all us, taking his time to summon up the courage he needed to reveal whatever he has to tell me. “Constantine came to my office the same day you guys wanted to see.” “We know already Barrister Stones. We saw everything, but now we need you to tell us everything.” Luke utters. Barrister Stones takes a deep breath. He looks ashamed of himself and finds it hard to speak. “If your loyalty still lies with me. You will tell me everything that happened between you and my uncle,” I inform him, and he nods his head in approval. “Constantine asked me to make sure that Andrew lost his case. He threatened to expose me to you if I didn’t do so.” “And what secret was he planning to expose to Elizabeth if you didn’t do as he said?” Andrew asks. His voice filled with anger. “I was the one who forged the documents that placed him as CEO of the company.” Barrister Stones confesses, and I am surprised by his words. “You did what!” I yell and he says nothing to me anymore. Andrew is angry, he is standing behind Barrister Stones but quickly makes way to his front. He pulls Barrister Stones to his feet and punches him heavily on his right cheek, holding him by the collar of his shirt to stop his fall to the ground. “Andrew that’s enough!” I yell and he scuffs. Luke lets go of Barrister Stones collar who drops to the floor like a piece of paper and he storms out of the study room. “I’ll go make sure he’s okay,” Luke suggests and follows behind him quickly. I am now left with Amelia and Barrister Stones. “Do you know what happened to Frank?” Amelia asks as Barrister Stones steadies himself once more on the chair which he sat on. “I do not know where he is. After he was arrested, I went to the station, and I was told that he had been bailed out of jail but when I went to his home to check on him, he wasn’t there.” “I and Luke went to his house as well, but we didn’t find him either and his house looked like world war had happened in it,” I inform Barrister Stones and he scuffs. “I can’t be Andrews’ Lawyer tomorrow Elizabeth. That’s the major reason I am here,” Barrister Stones informs me but I am not surprised. “We already had plans to find a new lawyer and I guess to honor our parent's relationship, I would love for you to recommend a lawyer from your firm.” I speak boldly and determined. A smile crawls up to his face, and he hands me a business card. “That’s Salvador. My brightest prodigy. Call him and I’m sure he would be honored to work for the most respected woman in all of Puerto Rico,” Barrister Stones says and I blush at his words. “I will have your father’s private investigator look into Franks disappearance and once again I’m truly sorry for everything I did,” Barrister Stones informs me and although I am happy he came clean. I still haven’t forgiven him and I intend to make him pay for betraying me. “Thank you, Barrister Stones.” I respond and he stands to his feet to leave. “Be careful with your uncle, Elizabeth. Until you prove his involvement in your parent's murder case. He is a threat to your lives as well.” He warns and steps out of the study room, leaving I and Amelia alone.
