Mr. CEO – You’re Dumped Chapter 5 Richard’s P.O.V It’s been barely but a day since Elizabeth and things weren’t going so great at my company and even at home. For the company, we had been receiving huge withdrawals from an unknown source and we couldn’t figure out who it was. The only people who had access to the company bank account was the company secretary, myself and Lillian and if it was Lillian, I would have found out by now. I sat on my office desk lost in thoughts on what to do and get my company back on its feet but I couldn’t think of anything to boost our sales and our image. “Mr. Richard, there’s someone here to see you” my secretary said as she walked into my office with a man I could barely recognize. “Good day Mr. Richard” “Good day kind sir. How may I help?” I asked but the man smiled at my question and dropped a file on my desk for me to go through as he took a seat opposite me on the table. “I believe the right question is; how May I help you?” he said as he watched me slowly pick up the file which he had dropped on my table. I skimmed through the file carefully and saw that it was a business proposal. One that would boost my company sales and probably even sky rocket it in a month. “Mr. Richard, Lim Sardines is running extremely low on sales, the quality of your sardines is dropping drastically and to top it all, someone is even stealing from your company” he added as he watched to see my reaction. I was perplexed and stunned at what he said and my mind kept wandering how he knew all this things were going on in my company. “How do you know about all of this sir and please what is your name?” I asked him once more sitting upright in my chair this time around and facing him squarely. “Well, my boss doesn’t make rash decisions. She prefers to do her research on a company before she invests in them and her investing in you means she has great plans for your company and as for my name, that doesn’t really matter” the man said turning to my TV and picking up the remote. “And who is your boss if I may ask?” “Elizabeth Mondragon. CEO of Rose Corp and heir to the Mondragon fortune” he replied me with a smirk on his face. I was quiet for a while and sincerely hoping he wasn’t talking about the Elizabeth I knew, the Elizabeth I had just divorced for Lillian, and the same Elizabeth I treated like she was garbage. “I’ve heard of the Rose Corp. in Puerto Rico but who is this Elizabeth you speak. Last time I checked the Rose Corp was under the management of Constantine Mondragon, brother to the late CEO and founder of Rose Corp. Salvador Mondragon” I asked with a frown on my face but all he did was put on the news channel and the image I saw was not what I expected. It was Elizabeth. She is a Mondragon and not just any Mondragon. She was the heir to the Mondragon fortune. Did she know all this even while she was with me or she stumped upon luck? “Mr. Richard, consider our proposal as it might be the only you’ll get at the state like this” the man said as he stood up to leave. “Lim Sardines is not for sale” I mumbled under my breath as I heard out the files to him. “You really are a tough shell to c***k. Ma’am Elizabeth was right after all. But Mr. Richard, this is business and surely you wouldn’t want to let personal relationship and feelings get in the way of success and riches” the man said in awfully tempting manner. Elizabeth always knew how to get me and I had no doubt that she was the one who prepared this business proposal. Two hundred and fifty million for half of the rights of my company, a very juicy deal which I couldn’t resist at this point in time as my company was running low on finances. “I can see you need more time to think this through Mr. Richard, I’ll leave the files with you and let you decide to what you want to do. Make the right choice Mr. Richard” he added before walking out of my office. “Two hundred and fifty million” I sighed as I felt my brain ache slightly. I was still lost in thoughts that I didn’t even notice Lillian walk into the office and sit on my laps. “What’s wrong Richie? You seem to be having a bad day” she said bringing me back to reality. “Hey Lillian, when did you come in?” I asked as I pressed my lips against hers. “I came in few minutes ago but you were so lost in thoughts that you didn’t even see me. I even went as far sitting on your laps and moving my hips on you but you didn’t make a single sound” she whimpered as she wrapped her arms around me. “I’m very sorry babe” I replied kissing her once more. She saw the files on the table and picked them up, going through them carefully and delicately, one after another. “Could this be what it bothering you?” she asked “Yes dear, it is” I replied as I took deep breath and watched her scan through the documents about our fast dropping sales, loss of over seventy nine million naira in one day and the increasing theft in our company account. She caught a glimpse of the last file on my desk, the one the man who left had dropped with me and took it to go through what was inside. “Two hundred and fifty million dollars for half the rights of the company, Babe this is one juicy deal. Please tell me you accepted because this is the solution to all our problems” she said as she faced with a concerned look on her face. “I can’t do accept that. I can’t risk it” I sobbed “Why is that?” “Because that proposal is from Elizabeth!”
