Mr. CEO – You’re Dumped Chapter 6 – Hard To Get Richard’s P.O.V I stared at the document in Lillian’s hands. It was a way out of my company’s crisis but I couldn’t just let Elizabeth back into my company. “How could she afford such a huge amount of money?” Lillian asked as she studied the document to know how legitimate it was. She was a lawyer. And my company advisor ever since I met her and she always gave me the best advises. “Elizabeth has been lying to us all this time” I mumbled beneath my breath as the news channel came on again and pictures of Elizabeth flashed on the screen once more. We both watched as reporters interviewed her but she said nothing to them. “Isn’t that the Mondragon family?” Lillian asked jaw dropped. Rage swept through me like wildfire as I watched her flaunt her sexy body all over the news. “I’m such a jerk” I sighed. Lillian’s face went pale. I could sense she was worried but we needed a way out. Lim Sardines was on the verge of bankruptcy and Elizabeth just offered me a way out but I could tell she was up to something. “Maybe we should pay her a little visit in Puerto Rico, Richard. What do you think?” Elizabeth suggested and although it sounded like a good plan, it was a risky move. “We can’t do that. She’s probably expecting me to come over there right now and start a fight with her” I mumbled I stood from my seat and packed my files. Arranged my desk and prepared to go home. “You want to start going home?” Lillian asked me. I was infuriated by her question. It was clear that she was just playing dumb and it wasn’t doing us any good. I took a deep breath and beamed a smile at her. Something about her just gave me hope about everything going on. “Let’s go home Lillian,” I said as she walked up to me and gave me a kiss before walking out of the office before me. We got home a few hours later after dropping by our favorite restaurant. Lillian had ordered an expensive plate of food and I was still mad at her about it. “What the hell was that all about?” She yelled. She threw her bags on the couch and stomped into the kitchen. “I should be the one asking you that question. How could you order a plate of food worth two thousand dollars” “Well excuse me for wanting to have a good diet” she bickered. I loved her good taste in food and all. But with the way things are going with the company, the stealing, and everything, we couldn’t afford such spending. “Listen, it’s not bad for you to want a good diet. I’m just saying you should take it easy on your spending. You know we have a lot going on right now” I did my best to remain calm and soothe her but she didn’t seem to care about what I had to say. She kept on yelling at me but I lost interest the moment I heard my phone beep. It was a text from Elizabeth’s representative and apparently, Elizabeth was giving me until midnight to make up my mind on the deal she offered me. “Why are you staring at your phone while I’m talking to you?” Lillian uttered. She yanked my phone out of my hand and saw the text I was reading. Her anger quickly disappeared as a worried look made it’s way to her face. “What are you going to do now?” she frowned. “I don’t have an idea yet. But with the look of things, I have no other choice” “But you know this is a risky move right. Elizabeth surely has a trick up her sleeve” Lillian mumbled. She slumped on the couch and sighed. We both thought getting rid of Elizabeth would secure our happily ever after but it only made things worse. “Then we have to be one step ahead of her. If she tries anything funny, we’re just have to be ready for it” I smiled as an idea formulated in my head. “What are you planning to do babe?” Lillian put an arm around my neck and gave me kiss on the cheek. She slowly dropped kisses on my chest as she unbuttoned my shirt. I wasn’t in the mood for a steamy night with her. Though the idea was quite tempting. My head was occupied with a lot of work and I needed to take care of them as soon as possible. I gently nudged her off and sat on the couch. I scrolled through my phone and dialed the number of Elizabeth’s representative. “Are you going to take the offer?” Lillian asked as we both waited patiently for the call to be answered. I ignored her. I sat in silence for a few minutes and finally the call was answered by the Mondragon representative. “Mr. Richard, it’s so nice to finally get your call. I believe you have thought about our business proposal, together with your wife” the man’s voice came over the phone. “What’s your name again good sir?” I asked with a bold and clear voice. He hesitated for a moment before responding to my question. “Barrister Stones. Not like there was any need for it but my name is Barrister Stones” he mumbled under his breath. I could clearly make out what he said but I wasn’t concerned anyways. I didn’t care what his name was. “Tell Elizabeth that the deal is not going to work. I won’t sell seventy percent of my company to her” I spoke and ended the call almost immediately Lillian’s eyes widened in shock. She wasn’t expecting my response to the deal but I had it all planned out. She walked up to and a slap landed heavily on my cheeks. I wasn’t expecting that but I knew she would be angry. “What the hell did you just do?” Lillian yelled at me. “The one thing Elizabeth hates. Which is also the one thing that makes her determined to get what she wants” I beamed a smile at Lillian and she wasn’t quite sure of what I had in mind. “I am going to play hard to get” I declared with a smirk.
