Aurela halted when she heard her mother making a suggestion to her father. “I suggest you get her married off to Aiden Reed. That would be fair to all of us.” At the mention of that name, she went cold as her body trembled. His name alone carries a weird and strong aura. Slowing down her pace, she went closer to the door of her father’s office, trying to listen to her father’s response. She was sure he wouldn’t do that to her. “In a few days, she will be sent out for good.” He responded with so much anger in his voice, but Aurela found it hard to believe her father would give her away just like that. Her heart was pounding from what she had heard, and she tried to be as calm as possible, so she could understand what they were saying. “After she’s been picked up, we will be free from the agreement and the pack will gain protection from Aiden Reed, making it safer for Aurora to rule with no more attacks by rogues. Two birds, one stone, “her mother added. “What are they talking about?” Her eyes widened in disbelief, and she started to tremble violently. “How can her father be sending her to hell just to protect her twin sister?” “You shouldn’t be eavesdropping, you know that, right? She heard a familiar voice behind her, and she turned her head around, coming face to face with Aurora’s evil smirk. Aurora’s face was filled with so much hate and disgust. She dislikes Aurela so much that she would do anything to get her punished. Aurela tried her best to avoid her twin sister’s cold stare, but that wasn’t enough to pacify her as she drew the attention of their parents. “Aurela!” Luna Kathryn’s voice was laced with anger, sending thrills down her spine. Realizing she was in trouble, she attempted to escape, but it was too late. She was stopped by Aurora, who blocked her path and pulled the door open, pushing her inside the office. “Mom…” Aurela’s voice quivered as she sucked in a deep breath attempting to control her fear while avoiding the faces of everyone in the room. “I told you she is a snitch, hiding and eavesdropping on our conversation. She should be punished, mother,” Aurora replied with a sneer. “You were eavesdropping on us?” Alpha Roland snarled. “I swear by the moon goddess Dad, I didn’t do it,” Aurela said with a teary voice. Thud! A big hit fell on her face, knocking her down, and she sank to the ground, dimly hearing her father’s furious roars. “You dare to call your new Alpha a liar? How dare you !?” Alpha Roland roared and began beating her for the first time. “No, I’m so sorry….. please forgive me… please Dad…” she pleaded as she curled herself on the floor with her hands up trying to defend the blows hitting her. “Father…. Please stop…” she begged as the pain was getting too severe for her and her eyesight started to blur. “You deserve more punishment than this for being a shame to this family,” Aurela’s mother, Luna Kathryn snarled with hate. “She’s too weak for an Alpha’s daughter. Of what purpose is her existence to this family?” Alpha Roland hissed. Aurela fell against the wall watching her father in fright and disbelief, fearful he might lift his hand to slap her again. “She might not be all useless, Luna Kathryn responded, interrupting Alpha Roland. “She is of importance to us right now. You know what the plans are already. In a few days, she will be used to clear our debt and acquire protection for the pack, and most of all, she will no longer be a burden to us.” Her mother, Luna Kathryn added with a smirk. Alpha Roland’s face lit up with a smile. “You seem confused, Aurela.” Aurora stared at her with a gentle grin. “Why don’t you tell her dad? I think she would love the news.” Aurela leaned back against the wall, startled at the sudden smile on their faces. She couldn’t tell why her family hated her this much, even her father, who treated her a little nicely in the past, turned his back on her in a twinkle of an eye. Alpha Roland came closer to her and cupped her cheeks, causing her to fold in fright. “You are going to solve a problem for me, one that will be of help to all of us.” “You are going to serve Alpha Aiden Reed, Lycan king of the Blood Moon pack. I can’t afford to pay back the money I owe him hence I will be giving you to him in exchange for our last deal and that will help us gain his protection. I’m sure you realize how much your sister and this pack need to be protected.” “Father!” She yelled, not believing what she had just heard. She was astonished and terrified. Her gaze met those of her mother, Luna Kathryn. She had no form of guilt or pity on her face even when she knew how dangerous this was. “Alpha Aiden Reed? The king of the most powerful pack in the whole of Astyria. He was known for his cruelty and hatred for those who fail to serve him well.” His wolf was said to be vicious and swift, a monster that could kill his prey in a few seconds. Nobody dares to offend him and goes scot-free. He was the king of all Lycans and an Alpha of all Alphas, he showed no mercy even at the slightest mistake. “And that was who they wanted to send her to ?” “Father please, don’t please, I promise to abide by your decision and let Aurora have the crown.” In sobs, she summoned all of her remaining courage and pleaded. “Aurela, don’t bother stressing yourself, begging Dad, you don’t have a choice” Aurora smiled at her. “Mom, please…. Please do not let him do this to me…” she begged in tears as she stared at her mother, but she wasn’t going to change her mind. “Father please, don’t do this to me…. Don’t send me to him. I beg of you please ….” “You will do as I have asked you to and that is final!” Alpha Roland yelled. Grabbing her hands, he dragged her to her room and locked the door. “She isn’t allowed to leave the house until Alpha Aiden arrives,” he instructed Luna Kathryn, and Aurora. Aurela couldn’t hold back her tears as the pains she felt were excruciating. “In a day, she had lost her rightful position and had been cheated on by her mate who marked her twin sister and now her father is using her as collateral to repay his debt to the lycan king.” There was no way she was going to serve Alpha Aiden, she had to escape somehow. “Moon goddess please, do not let this happen to me.” She cried out, hoping for help.
